About this property

Gone Coastal by Olympic Coast Rentals

Come create lasting memories of the Olympic Coast at Gone Coastal. This 2-bed 1-bath single-level duplex is the perfect getaway for those looking to explore the Olympic Peninsula! We feature an ideal location just east of the City of Forks, close to beaches, with WiFi, washer and dryer, & two smart TVs! Our aim is to provide everything you’ll need to create a home away from home!

Spend your days discovering the natural beauty of the area before heading back to Gone Coastal. With over 900 sq ft, you’ll have plenty of room to move about without losing that quaint, cozy atmosphere when its time to cuddle up on the couch next to the wood fireplace. The duplex shares the garage and pantry/kitchen wall so there are less noise concerns while sleeping soundly on the other end of the house. It is located on a family-friendly loop community and just a short walk away is an idyllic trail that borders Elk Creek.

Prepare family meals in the full kitchen or grill outside on the gas BBQ (propane tank level not monitored so let us know if it is getting low) and sit down for dinner at the large dining table with space for 4. The well-equipped kitchen features a full suite of appliances including a drip coffee pot and electric kettle. When it's time to turn in, you've got two bedrooms to choose from, each with king beds. Closets have shelving and hangers. The bathroom features a tub/shower combo. In the garage (which is also used for owner storage) you will find a washing machine and dryer.

We try and stock the house with all the basics including bedding, towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, toilet paper, hair dryer, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, paper towels, foil, plastic wrap, Ziplocs, garbage bags, Folgers coffee, tea, sugar, creamer, hot cocoa, and oatmeal. The house also has some games, children toys, and a pack n play.

You will be renting the whole left side of duplex and yard (no fence so no delineation with other side of duplex). Interior garage access for washer and dryer only, the owner uses rest of space for storage.

Limited cell phone coverage at the house, but wireless Internet is provided (turn on wifi calling). We are happy to have Starlink Satellite Internet with speeds up to 150 mbps.

This is a pet-free, smoke-free home.

• Hoh Rain Forest (55 min to visitor center)

Great location for exploring the area.

We enjoyed the kitchen amenities, the comfortable beds, the television options, and the quietness of the area. We would have liked reading lamps on end tables at the couch ends. Would stay again.

Well-equipped!

We were pleasantly surprised by how many items we wanted were at the home. There was a plethora of equipment in the kitchen, including surprisingly sharp knives above the stove. The wood stove was super pleasant and heated the whole place nicely with a charm. There was abundant kindling and logs, as well as fire-starters. We were a bit bummed that multiple neighbors kept constantly barking dogs outside in the evenings. The location was very convenient to Forks, although not within walking distance. Ravae was very communicative and asked what they could do to improve. We communicated about a few things that didn't quite work as expected, and she said they would fix them. I was very happy with the hosts.

Elk Loop VRBO

Stayed with husband and his cousin. Property was peaceful. Didn't hear guests that were staying next door. Loved having a full kitchen set up instead of the usual scant silverware; pots and pans; etc. Beds were really comfortable. Liked that there were games available to play, we had brought our own because we didn't know about that. Definitely would stay here again. Well worth the price.

Great getaway in Forks

This was our second stop on our adventure and it was great. The location was quiet and a good distance from town, easy to get to. It was comfortable and filled all of our needs. The beds were comfy, it was quiet and an easy distance from the places we wanted to visit. The kitchen was awesome and very well equipped, better than the previous place we stayed which was overall much bigger. The wood stove was nice and the grill was functional, yay! I’d definitely stay here again. The host was very friendly and checked in to make sure we were having a good stay. Highly recommend.

Great stay

We had a great time at the coastal unit. It has everything you need and more. Kids loved the TV in the BD. We loved the cozy sofa in the living room after long hiking days. Ravae is fantastic so responsive and knowledgeable about the area. She even sent us the headphones that my kid forgot at the unit.

Western Heart of the Olympics

From the mountains to the sea. Forks has something for everyone. Don't let the weather stop you. The house is in a great location to enjoy the outdoors. From fishing to hiking and sight seeing. The property is suited for a small family or just a couple. Well stocked with everything that is needed to complete a your stay. The neighbor is really quiet and close to town. We have stayed the last four years for a week or so and have never been disappointed. We will return in 2024 if time allows

Great house—convenient to Olympic National Park

The house was very conveniently located if you want to spend time in Olympic National Park. The house was exceptionally clean and had all the extra little touches that make a stay special. Ravae even left fresh eggs in the refrigerator for us to use. I would highly recommend staying here if you would like to explore the national park.

Great location for national park

We stayed here for several days while touring the National Park locations along the peninsula (about 30min—hour from any of the locations we visited). The house/duplex was the perfect size for the three of us (me, husband and daughter), having two bedrooms, a nice sized living room and a fully stocked kitchen. They even have toys and kids’ dishes for your kiddos! The host was helpful with check in and check out. We did not have any issues. The town itself is a lot smaller than we assumed and has very minimal grocery and restaurant options. So keep that in mind. We’d definitely stay again if touring the park in the future!
