About this property

Cozy tiny cabin nestled in a little woodland village - playground & pond access

This tiny cabin sits down in a wooded holler near Winslow, AR. It is 10 minutes from Devils Den State Park, and just 25 minutes from Fayetteville. Enjoy the quiet, peaceful woods with the amenities of a "tiny home" style cabin. BBQ grill, firepit, and picnic table at each cabin. Bring your own charcoal, lighters/matches, and camp chairs.

These cabins are a perfect quiet getaway for 1, 2 or the whole family. Great for Razorback sports events and more. The front porch rocker has a beautiful view.
The pond is fun to fish, float a kayak, or lounge on the turf around the dock. Pond shoreline turfed around 1/2 shoreline for a pleasant place to hang out and/or fish.
The playground is waiting for the kiddos. Swings, mery-go-round, and old fashion teeter-totters are fun and a "whirly-gig" for the brave. Playground is unsupervised and used at your own supervision and risk. A basketball court available to shoot hoops or play some pickle ball.
The new turfed sports field is marked as a small soccer field and a great place for your favorite lawn game like "Bocce Ball".

There are 6 cabins available to share with your family and friends and have a great gathering for the weekend. The cabins have WIFI, are stocked with linens, dishes, and smart TV. You can easily get a data signal on your phone.

Our new road to the cabins is a dirt/gravel road but 4-wheel drive is NOT required.
Note that GPS usually tries to take you to the old road, so please read our driving directions.

Sleeping accommodations for 4-5: 1 bedroom with a queen bed, 1 large loft with a queen bed, a sofa, and a carpeted small loft that is great for kids sleeping bags.

The playground, basketball court, sports field, and kayaks and fishing(bring own gear) provide onsite fun while Devils Den State Park provide several year round hiking trails and a swimming pool during summer months. Some sports gear and life jackets are available upon request. The pavilion and large central firepit can be rented/reserved by guests if available.

We are open year round with a different atmosphere for each season. Come relax and/or play and enjoy our little wooded hide-away anytime of the year.

The cabin was just perfect for our family And super clean. All the extra things to do around the property, basketball courts, playground equipment, fishing pond, outdoor fire place, fire pits with all the wood precut and stacked by each cabin, etc. was awesome . Our host Connie was amazing. She was super responsive and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to revisit. We would highly recommend this cabin!

Family stay

The cabin was great the kayaks and paddle boat need replaced weren’t inviting even though kids tried to use them the pond very murky and the playground area overgrown maybe having few fishing poles on property would made it little more inviting

The perfect getaway

This place is definitely the best place to go to just get away from it all. We brought our 5 kids here to get them away from the electronics and teach them that there is more to life than video games and tablets. I expected them to complain the whole time but they actually didn't want to leave. This place was so cozy and intimate. The owners are great people who were very concerned with us being completely comfortable. I love the set up and the atmosphere. I'm honestly worried about staying anywhere else now because I know it's not gonna hold a candle to this experience. Thank you for giving us this well needed break from the busy world we live in.

Cute and cozy cabins

Definitely recommend. Easily accessible from I-49 just south of Fayetteville. Reasonably priced and way better than staying at a motel. Was down visiting our son who’s a college student. Plan to bring more family and friends next time. Didn’t have enough time to really explore the area. Wineries to the south were awesome and not too far of a drive. My only issue was the A/C unit not super cold… I’m a middle aged gal with hot flashes 🤣 so I prefer it colder.

Great place!

Enjoyed my time at Grandpas cabin. All in all it was great. I slept in the loft one night to test it for my kids and it got pretty hot up there. When I moved downstairs it was cool. My only complaint was that I think the AC does not cool the loft very well. A box fan might help to move the air up there. I was worried about the road but it was no big deal. My Subaru handled it fine. If you have a car with decent clearance I don’t think you need a four wheel drive. I would not take an accord or anything unless you want undercarriage damage. I will definitely be back with my fam to fish at the pond and hike around. I did not have time sadly.

This was such an amazing place to stay! We brought everything we may have needed with us there, but if we would have accidentally left something at home the cabin was so well stocked that we would have been just fine! It was very clean, very peaceful and exactly what we were looking for!!

Adorable little cabin

This little cabin is absolutely beautiful! I would highly recommend a truck or a vehicle that is higher off the ground than a car due to the road coming in but it’s not too bad. The cabin is packed with all of the essentials even down to spices! We absolutely adored this property!

Super cute cabin

Super cute cabin. Stocked well. We enjoyed our short stay. A few other cabins on site which would make it nice if other family members or friends were joining you. Must have AWD or 4WD vehicle....gravel road is pretty rough in a couple of places but it would not be a deal breaker in considering another stay. 10 mins from Devil’s Den State Park and 25 mins from Fayetteville.

Quiet, clean and serene

We loved the cabin! It had everything we needed. New and clean, quiet, and cozy. It is a little bit bumpy getting down to it on the gravel road and we would suggest finding it for the first time in daylight, but once you’re there it’s worth it. Would definitely stay again!

Welcome to Family First Cabins in Winslow, Arkansas!
We are Vernon and Connie, happy parents of 12, and new empty nesters. As the children are nearly all married and the grandchildren are adding up, we decided to build a place they could come to visit. When the grandkiddos aren't visiting we want to share this beautiful space with others - including families.
Family is very important to us and having a place for families to be together and make memories is valuable! We love Arkansas and all the beauty that it offers.
Come stay in one of our cabins and disconnect, reconnect, and and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature that God has created.

Why they chose this property

Family First Cabins is devoted to providing a clean, friendly and safe environment. We treat all who come as family and we hope you will do the same. What a blessing to spend time with family and build relationships that can last forever.
Our little woodland village is a retreat and a great escape from the stress and chaos of life.
We are creating a place for families to make memories and bond through valuable family time. Unplug and take a walk, sit by the pond, and tell stories by the campfire. Family unity is so valuable and it comes from spending time together.
We are located a short distance from Devils Den State Park, hiking trails, ATV trails, Lake Fort Smith, and much more.
Swimming pools are located at Devils Den and Lake Fort Smith.

What makes this property unique

Down in our little "holler", it is peaceful, quiet, and feels a thousand miles away from the "rat race" of life.
Enjoy a retreat to nature but keep your running water, AC/Heat and a nice bed. You are a short drive from a grocery store and 25 minutes from Fayetteville for fine dining.
A valuable bonus is that you are just a 5-10 minute from Devil's Den State Park that has hiking trails and lots to see!
Fish the pond, row a kayak on our little pond, or just sit on the dock and take in the view.
A classic old time playground is great for the kids young and old. Try out the swings, merry-go-round, teeter-totters, and “whirly-gig”.
A small turfed sports field is great for lawn games and some sports. Other turfed which provide rock and pothole free running space as well as the option to sit on the "grass" without getting ticks and chiggers! The basketball court comes with basketball and a pickleball net is an option for hitting the ball back and forth. The pavilion provides shade or retreat from the rain and is a fun place to hang out.
You can hike on our 60 acres and explore and/or scale the huge rocks down our ravine that is below the pond.
You can stay onsite to relax, and vacation or venture out and explore many things close by such as: Devil's Den trails, Lake Fort Smith, West Fork and more. Multiple ATV trails are close by such as: Mill Creek.
