My family and I stayed here for 3 nights and we loved it. Such beautiful views, close to town and surrounding areas. James was great about communication, we will most deff be staying here again if we find ourselves in Sturgis! (:
Ours is a group of 5 senior siblings and spouses. We meet and hangout yearly in different locations. This house was big enough to accomodate us easily. The yard was big enough to play the outdoor games that many of us enjoy. The area is beautiful with so much to see and do. What more could anyone want!
We were able to enjoy the Easter holiday weekend with our extended family. This house was large enough to accommodate 6 adults and 5 children in a comfortable way. There is living spaces on the main floor and large areas in the basement for groups to gather to play games or watch movies together. The large yard was a great place to play football and games with the kids as well. We also enjoyed the wildlife in the yard as deer passed through daily as well as a large flock of turkeys.
Check in was simple and easy and a perfect location. The house has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. James was the perfect host. Thanks so much and we will be back.
Our stay in the Black Hills at James place couldn't have been better. It is big and clean and had wonderful views. Check in was easy and check out was even easier.
For the most part, everything went great. Wonderful location and James was terrific to deal with. We’ve been renting homes for 14 years and have a few observations from our other experiences.More utensils would be recommended so there is plenty for larger groups and a railing on the platform / staircase in the garage would be a nice safety item. Adding mirrors in the bedrooms would also be a nice.Otherwise, the house was great and it was nice to sit by the fire pit and enjoy the view!We would all recommend this house for anyone heading to Mt. Rushmore.

Beautiful Potential
This was a beautiful area. The house was a wonderful size and very beautiful. However, it wasn’t super clean at all. I think if several things were fixed that this could be a legitimate 10/10 rating (which I cannot agree that that’s an accurate rating at all). Next time we will choose to stay closer to Spearfish and Keystone as those are more family friendly and closer to home. The lighting was very poor, the huge couch in the basement was not a recliner, there was dust and crumbs places as soon as we got there, we had 8 people there for 4 nights and ran out of towels quickly. One of the three tvs didn’t work (even after a long trial and error period).
Great location! House was clean and ready for us, had everything we needed. My son loved the basketball hoop! Neighbors were friendly. Will come back again if available.
We rented the home for a Christmas getaway with my extended family. We have an eclectic mix of teens, adults and small children and the space accommodated perfect! We will return in the future!
Home was as advertised, clean, kitchen well equipped, multiple gathering areas for games or good conversation. Even had full sized christmas tree with all the trimmings. Would definitely recommend.
The property was in a great location, the accommodations are first class and communication wit the property owner was great. I would highly recommend staying here!
Everything about our stay was wonderful. The house is in great condition, there is an amazing amount of space in the house. We loved all the deck areas and watching deer frolic in the evenings. It was very clean! It was perfect for our family.
