Rustic charm with spectacular views!
We spent an enjoyable week at casa girasole, soaking up the italian sunshine and exploring the local area.
The house is located about half an hour's drive from a beautiful beach at Pineto and also a short drive from the Gran Sasso national park which is great for walkers.
If you're after a holiday villa that you can stroll into town from, Casa Girasole will probably be a little remote for you, but if you're looking for a charming, relaxing, beautiful retreat away from it all, then it is ideal. After a week in this tranquil setting, I felt truly recharged. And to be able to stroll out of the door each morning and pick fresh figs off the trees for breakfast on the terrace, overlooking an amazing panorama - well, I was in heaven!
Although rural, there are shops and restaurants a short drive away - we would recommend Il Gallo, a family run restaurant which serves lots of local dishes and is amazing value for money. Make sure you try the arrosticini - small skewers of lamb which are a local speciality during the summer months.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!
