Fantastic stay at Les Ports. We have family near by so it was a perfect location for us. Very peaceful and beautiful. Pool was amazing as the weather was hot. The gite has everything you need and shops less than 20 minutes drive. Great location for day trips too. We will definitely stay here again x
Beautiful property in a tranquil area. Not far to travel to restaurants and days out , but need a car. Grounds amazing and spent hours peacefully walkings with the dog . The pool was a big hit with the kids and the gite had everything we needed. The owners were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Holiday was amazing.

A property for all ages - you can stroll in the woods, admire the vegetable garden, visit the sheep, read in a quiet area or spend time in a great pool.
A quirky character property set in beautiful grounds, the host was always available but never in the way. Claudine did all she could to make sure our stay was great. A lovely place to retreat to and leave the world behind.

This is a good base for a holiday exploring the region. The house is in a very quiet location surrounded by beautiful countryside. The gardens are lovely full of flowers and the children enjoyed exploring. The accomodation was comfortable. Claudine was a good host and available to answer any questions.

We had a wonderful time here, a family group with a little one. The pool is gorgeous and really lovely to use. The setting is beautiful and lots of space. It felt very safe for our toddler and dogs. It’s a quiet area but we loved it as easy to get places in the car. We would visit again!
We had a wonderful stay at the gite and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the gorgeous surroundings. The gite is isolated at the top of the hill but for us this was one of its attractions. We enjoyed walking our dog and running from this location, the surrounding sunflower and pumpkin fields were gorgeous! The gite itself is lovely, comfy beds, great bathrooms and superb outside space to explore . We loved the pool area and eating outside on the patio was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful stay x

Excellent!
My wife and I and our 3 teenage girls had a wonderful visit at Christophe and Claudine's cottage. The place has a wonderful old-world charm yet was very comfortable. With four bedrooms, we all had our own space. The kitchen was fully equipped which allowed us to do our own cooking. We enjoyed the gardens and the pool, and the bikes allowed us to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside. We highly recommend this property!

A magical place in the French farmland. The house has apple, fig and pear trees. Tons of beautiful property. Very quiet. A nice pool. Bikes, walking and picking walnuts.. And, we were greeted with wine and local cheese. A dear, kind host. Is a perfect place to unwind for several days and just enjoy being together.

We enjoyed the stay in the house with our family. The weather was not very good but we could play different games in the barn. Also the swimming pool was used one day and we loved the garden with fruits.
The cleanliness could be better... there still was coffee in the coffee pot and just have a look on top of the refrigerator... The beds and bathroom were fine.
Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We were a family group with a 5 year old and a two year old. The pool is great and we made good use of it each day. The location is rural and peaceful. The house is beautiful and the gardens are wonderful with lots of space. The beds were comfortable and the house well equipped. The welcome pack of wine, local cheese and bread was a lovely touch.
The grounds were secure for the children to play although the little one did manage to crawl under the gate... but he is a bit of a Houdini!
Directions were clear and Claudine (who lives in the adjoining building) was discreet but available if necessary.

Very nice accommodating just like the description. Lovely seating area outside the property we ate there most days. Swimming pool was very nice a little fiddly to take the cover on and off but we managed, it could of done with being a little warmer. Was a little cold in the house and couldn’t work out how to put the heating on, when we asked about the heating was told it would take 2 days to heat up! We where told we could lite a fire but no provision to lite the fire and no shop close enough to get supplies, luckily we managed to get it lit by our own means.

We paid a lot of money and we thougt we have the house for ourself. But the owner lifs there too so you have no privacy. The chairs in the garden are from metal and rusty not nice to sit on, and the chairs in the house are verry old and dont smel nice.

We were welcomed by the extremely Claudine to a beautiful conversion in the wing of a large country estate house. The conversion has been done tastefully, with all the equipment that you need for an escape. We were only 4 people, however it would have been very good for two large families to stay there. The rooms were large and well laid out, the beds comfortable and it was a very peaceful escape. The large gardens are both pretty and functional, with fresh fruit and vegatables shared by the owners as they were picked. The pool area was secure and perfect to spend time with the kids. The property is remote, which makes you feel like you have truly escaped. It also means that you have a 10 minute drive to get bread or groceries, which we didn't mind at all. The owners were available but invisible, and we had a wonderful time. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property for a holiday!

A peaceful, relaxing family holiday location
The house is a lovely old building, nicely renovated with lots of original features, comfortably furnished and beautifully clean. The kitchen is small but equipped with all the gadgets you need and there are good modern bathroom facilities with great showers.
We enjoyed most of our meals in the courtyard, beautifully shaded by the mimosa tree. The hotplate/barbeque was put to good use with al frescoe dining on a couple of occasions.
The highlight for us was the pool, which is salt water - no nasty chemicals! We made good use of the many loungers and the spa.
Claudine and Christophe live in the adjoining part of the house, but they were in no way intrusive. They were really helpful and were very generous with the delicious fresh produce from their kitchen garden. There are large well tended grounds open to guests and we enjoyed strolling through the avenues and walk ways.
For any star gazers the skies are light pollution free and provide very clear viewing with the pool side loungers proving very useful for looking up and binocular gazing.

We are very please that you enjoy your stay, we are always very happy to share the produce of our Garden, and give our guest all the best.
This holiday was simply fantastic. The house was ideal for our family of six adults and a 1 year old child. Set in open countryside the property was easy to find, secluded, peaceful and the thick stone walls kept us cool in what were unusually high temperatures. No light pollution so the stars had to be seen to be believed. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed most of our meals outside on a long table and comfortable new chairs. The barbeque was set in a gravel courtyard (great for boulle) and came into its own for several meals and when we ran out of gas Christophe immediately set off to get a replacement gas cannister. The swimming pool was maintained to an excellent standard and was very welcome during the hot weather. The property is ideally placed with a bar/restaurant located only 1.5k away and several large supermarkets within a 20 minute drive. We visited Chinon, Saumur, Amboise and Tours during our stay all of which were in easy reach. Finally our host Claudine was a delight. Nothing was too much trouble even the provision of 4 new fans for the bedrooms when the temperature hit 34c. We were treated to a welcoming bottle of wine, home made jam and fruit from her extensive gardens throughout our stay. Our grandaughter loved the fresh raspberries and the two sheep that were housed on site. All in all we we have nothing negative to say about the Gite Logis De La Coquetiere and would have happily stayed there a lot lot longer if time and circumstances had allowed.

Christophe and I own that property since 1990, Christophe has clearly restored that big property witch was in a very bad state, we both like very much gardening and create a park instead of the field.
Why they chose this property
We choice that property for the character of the building but also for the position on the top of a hill, with panoramic views on a very quiet and beautiful hilly country side. The river is also very important for Christophe, he likes to fish and there is sportive fish in the river.
What makes this property unique
We both like old houses and the old buildings in that area call RICHELAIS are very attractive with there close courtyard, there pigeon house built is that typical beautiful whit stone, also the weather is very cool, we can grow plant from the south of France. That's why it is call the garden of France.
