Enjoy Lake Michigan water views in this sweet cozy cottage with a secluded stretch of sandy beach right across the street! Quiet, wooded, residential area, just 3 miles to downtown Manistee. This is our family's cottage that we share. Enjoy what we enjoy: well stocked kitchen, quality linens, comfortable furniture, but no personal clutter (everything is kept clear and open for your use). Enclosed sitting room with lake view, open floor plan living/ dining with electric fireplace. High speed internet, no cable TV. Lake view deck and fire pit. Beach cart for your beach supplies, charcoal grill. No wake shallow inland lake (Bar Lake) just around the corner, perfect for kayaking. *Please note: Property is not on Lake Michigan, it is across the street. The view is generous but partial. Portable air conditioner only. Cottage is not baby proofed. Accessibility: two small steps to enter home; washer and dryer are in basement. Beach across street has a small bluff without stairs.

Very cozy

This cottage was cozy, but it also had little details that made the stay even more comfortable. I will definitely stay here again!

Getaway weekend

We really enjoyed our stay at Laurie and Trevors place, the house was as described, clean with great views. Host were very responsive, and I recieved all my information about the property days before we arrived. Manistee is a great little town, with lots to do and plenty of beaches. We would definitely stay again.

Great spot near Lake Michigan

Trevor and Laurie advertise their home honestly and everything was exactly as they described it. The firepit and lake views were lovely to enjoy, and they were very communicative.

Perfect Spot

We had a great week at the house! Close to many beaches and about an hour from Sleeping Bear Dunes. My daughter and niece loved waking up and going to search for beach glass. Would definitely stay again.

A quiet retreat

The home was very nicely decorated and furnished. We had everything that we needed. The hosts were helpful. The side porch was a perfect spot to enjoy nature, read a book and have a snack. Our only disappointment was that most of the Lake MI access nearby was closed due to the high lake levels. We had not realized that until after we booked. The beach in town was great. We would book this home again when the lake levels are lower. Thank you for a wonderful getaway.

We are lifelong Michigan residents, and we truly believe there is no better place to live and to vacation! When we're not working in southwest Michigan we're in Manistee, walking the beaches and breathing the fresh lake air. We're excited to share our cottage with you!

Why they chose this property

This property has a lake view without the beachfront price. Access to the lake is within a few hundred feet. Private neighborhood water access points-- you'll likely have your sunset view entirely to yourself! And yet, it's a 7 minute drive to town. It's the best of both worlds.

What makes this property unique

Manistee is a quiet beachfront town that goes unnoticed by many. The numerous public beaches are uncrowded and FREE. Charming Victorian downtown with a riverwalk and a drawbridge where you can watch yachts and freighters come in. Fireworks over Lake Michigan on the 4th of July, and a Victorian Christmas parade in the winter. Fish the many rivers/ lakes, ski Caberfae, or, better yet, stay put in your beachside home. Our cottage is unique in that it offers you access to a secluded stretch of Lake Michigan, without the lakefront price. The public beaches are nice, but a secluded beach across the street is even better!
