Wonderful artwork is available for purchase from the very creative mind of the owner’s husband. The kitchen was well supplied and the outdoor space is exceptional. The stairs are quite steep and the children’s beds are softer and were better for us (sore backs). The yard (and home) is absolutely beautiful. The light chimes from the local church (silenced at night) added to the ambience of bird chirping…
Christine has transformed her little workshop into a gem of an accomodation, very comfortably furnished and artistically decorated with her husband's artwork. But perhaps the best part of this little gem is the surrounding gardens. All designed and cared for by Christine. As a gardener she is every bit an artist as her husband. She has created a beautiful, quiet sanctuary that we found refreshing after touring our daytime tours throughout Normandy. Just a sort 15 drive to Rouen whose old town, restaurants and cafes we found charming. 15 minutes to a very good Carrefour market. I couldn't recommend a VRBO rental more. Christine herself is a delightful person.

Clean, tidy gite. Very peaceful & quiet, lovely gardens. Lots of info for attractions locally. Christine showed us places to go & made various suggestions, very helpful. Parking on a steep incline, not ideal.Stairs very narrow, need to bend down whilst walking up & downstairs, hazardous, easy to bang head on the solid wood. Need to put something like a fluorescent strip or padding to make guests aware. Only had net curtains at very large window, unsure why the curtains ( as seen in photo's on website ) weren't up? The gite was cold at night when the temp dropped. We did inform the owners who came & dealt with the heating. Curtains would have made the property much warmer. Despite washing machine indicated on the amenities, there is not one on site however Christine, the owner guided us to a local town & provided us with the link for a launderette. We had been away for 3 weeks so needed to do some washing, hence our selection of this gite. We were only 2 people so didn't use the dishwasher. We used 2 of everything, i.e plates, glasses, cups & minimal cutlery. Decided against wasting water so washed things up in the sink rather than use the dishwasher.. Christine implored us to use the dishwasher, stating that she would have to wash all the dishes once we had gone, ? Insinuating that we would leave things dirty & unclean for the next guests. Somewhat miffed about this ? Just took the shine off our stay a little .We left the property as we found it, clean & tidy.

A really lovely house, full of original and very interesting objets d’art, which made for a fabulous place to stay.
The village is very pretty, and it was easy to drive into Rouen where we spent two fascinating days exploring.
Altogether I would thoroughly recommend this lovely place!

Little house has nice patio, very clean, good bed, good shower. Very quiet and peaceful for relaxing after a day of touring around Normandy. Christine was always available and very helpful. Staircase up to bedrooms a bit tight, bathroom on main floor. Would recommend for most.
@Christine, merci beaucoup!

Very pleasant, clean, good location, very good host.
Christine was very helpful and the house is very clean, well decorated and has everything you need. Location is excellent, so you can go to day trips as far as the north cost and around the river with very pleasant walks, villages and people.

Wonderful setting, wonderful hosts.
The first thing that impressed us as weary travelers in a foreign country was how easy it was finding our way to this charming guesthouse. Set in the beautiful township of St-Jean-du-Cardonnay, 10 minutes away from the awesome city of Rouen, we could finally relax and take in the breathtaking surroundings.
We were met by friendly Christine who welcomed in her broken English and felt instantly at home. She showed us maps and gave us lots of information about the area, which was wonderful. She, he husband Ivan (a well known artist) and English speaking son Antionne were wonderful hosts throughout our stay.
The guesthouse is set in the garden near the main house, so if we required anything, we were simply able to call on Christine. She even had a piano which our daughter played for hours! While we were unable to do our own laundry, Christine did it for us for a small fee.
The cottage itself is like a gallery, filled with Ivan's amazing artwork. Also,an ipad was set up with spotify and there was an impressive collection of DVDs.
Overall, is one of our most pleasant stays in Europe and we would thoroughly recommend staying there.
