Snow capped views, wildlife, lake, close to skiing & Red Rocks Amphitheater
Beautiful mountain home on 4 acres with soaring ceilings, moss rock fireplace, pellet stove, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths. Snow-capped peak views with abundant wildlife and beautiful sunsets. Ideal for families or friends seeking a peaceful retreat in nature, close to the attractions of Denver and Evergreen as well as Red Rocks amphitheater and skiing. Not suited to groups looking for a place to party.
The property is close to recreation of all kinds (boating, fishing or ice skating on Lake Evergreen, hiking, biking, climbing, rafting, etc.) Experience a world-class concert at Red Rocks. Ski or snowboard at any of several ski areas within an hour's drive. Drive the highest paved road in the United States to the top of Mt. Evans! Ride the Georgetown Loop railroad and take the silver mine tour. Evergreen itself has great restaurants, coffee shops, shopping and all the services you need. And only 25 minutes to the west side of the Denver.
Family-friendly: main level master bedroom (king) is close to the 2nd bedroom with 1 queen and 1 twin bed. Upstairs, 3rd bedroom has a queen bed and 4th bedroom can be a king bed or two twins. Sitting area has a queen size sleeper sofa. Board games and kitchen essentials make it easy to have a relaxing night in! For guests with a baby: portable crib, baby gates, and booster seat provided.
Outside, enjoy the grill, large deck, patio, wildlife, and views that will amaze you. Please note that this is a cabin in the woods, and fast internet is not available in this area. You will be able to stream and work online, but not at high speeds.
Pet fee of $95 will be charged. Please let us know what animals you have, we need to confirm number and size. Pets must be on leash (we want to keep your pets safe from wild animals too!)
You will have access to the whole house and grounds. There is ample parking for up to 5 cars. We have a lockbox for self check-in. While you can get Lyft and Uber here (and those are great options for people attending Red Rocks concerts), it's pretty difficult to get around without a car in the mountains.
Several things to note: -Onsite hosts live in a separate apartment (under the deck of the house). They will respect your privacy but are right there if you have any issues. Other than the deck, there are no shared walls or floors. However, because the deck is over their ceiling we do ask that you use other spaces between 9 pm and 7 am. The stone patio is available anytime, as long as the noise level is not such that it would disturb our mountain neighbors. While we do our best to maintain your privacy, please also respect the privacy of our caretakers and neighbors by not knocking on their doors or windows and refraining from flying drones on the property.
-Please note that this is now a non-smoking property (even outside) due to frequent drought in Colorado and high fire danger in recent years.
-Early check-in (before 4 pm) is not permitted without advance permission in order to allow for a thorough cleaning.
-Late check out may result in a 100$ fee, we must ensure time to turn the house around for other guests.
-The cleaning fee covers a several hour 5 step sanitization routine for the whole house. Additional cleaning fee may be incurred for damage or mess left behind that substantially adds time to the cleaning, such as pet messes and cleaning that requires changing the water in the hot tub.
-To guests who are checking in during summer months: Like many mountain homes, this house does not have AC, but there is a large swamp cooler. The best way to keep cool in the summer is to open the windows in the evening and close them in the morning (and close the curtains on the West windows in the late afternoon). Normally, highs don't get higher than the 80's and lows at night are usually 65 or lower. We do have several fans.

The house is conveniently located pretty close to where you exit, but manages to be remote with incredible view & feel very private. Tons of kid-friendly accommodations and a beautiful home. Can't wait to come back in the summer to take advantage of the awesome patio as well!
The cabin was good. The hot tub was broken so that was disappointing, but they did give us $175 back on a 3 night stay. No TV downstairs, which is inconvient and there were odd little bugs on the wall thst we killed throughout our stay. Bathrooms could of been cleaner and a few extra towels would of been nice.
This property has a beautiful view to the south from the bedrooms, deck and kitchen/living area. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen well stocked with essentials, except any paper products like paper towels, napkins or tissues. None of those in the house. The hot tub is nice to have, but a little weak on size, temperature and jet power. 1 of the 4 seats is kind of a half seat only a child could stay submersed in. Only 2 of the 4 seats have jets at all, and those are weaker than any hot tub I remember. Often after using it for awhile the temperature ends up like a warm bathtub, 101-102 F. We saw 2 elk just down the road coming back at dusk.
The home is located in a gorgeous pine forest overlooking the mountains- stunning! We had a great stay and our hosts could not have been more responsive or welcoming. Hope to be back!

Average at best. Would t stay again at that price.
Average condition, but very weathered for price range. Screen doors work poorly. Kitchen average supplies. Another renter in unit below deck, which was not clearly stated online. Dog waste bucket was not emptied when we arrived. Wouldn’t stay there again for that price.
We recently took our three older children and family dog for a quick two-night getaway. While we enjoyed ourselves, there are a few things to be aware of.
First of all, the between-guests cleaning needs some work. My daughter found some dirty socks and a used Covid face mask under one of the twin beds in her room. The two Brita water pitchers left in the refrigerator were between 1/3-1/2 full, and had hand smudges and tiny food particles on their exteriors. Not a great first impression when everyone is worried about cleanliness, and who might have been there before them.
Secondly, the house has a number of things that need to be repaired. Both sliding screen doors can barely be moved, and one has a giant section of screen cut out around the handle. Additionally one of the main floor window's screen had fallen out completely. I managed to wedge it back in place, but who knows how long it will stay. These are kind of important, because with no air conditioning, you really need to be able to open the doors and windows in the evening and at night to cool the place down (it reached 83° inside during the day!). As it was, we opened them anyway, and had to deal with all of the bugs that got in.
I'm not sure how suitable this place would be for families with small children, because they installed a wood pellet stove for heat on the floor next to the sliding door to the deck (separate from the wood stove insert in the fireplace). Strangely, they vented it right through the exterior wall at knee level onto the deck. The vent pipe is kind of shielded by a couple of cinder blocks, but it doesn't seem very safe.
I agree with the previous reviewer who said the kitchen was missing a lot of things you would expect to have. We've stayed at many different vacation properties, and never before have we not had paper towels, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, or even a working can opener! Luckily, you're only about ten minutes from a grocery store, but you might want to check what's missing as soon as you get there to avoid surprises.
Lastly, be aware that there are separate tenants living directly below you. The owners ask you not to use the deck after 9pm, which is fine, but we were constantly worried about making too much noise.
I don't mean to just stress the negatives. The view from the deck was great, and the proximity to the Denver area is a definite plus. That said, for this kind of money, we've had much better experiences at other properties.
So beautiful! The only think is there were no paper towels or napkins and only 2 hand towels. That was a little inconvenient, so bring some. Also the beds were prepped for winter, so the mattress covers were fluffy and so hot. Just things to be aware of when it’s summer.
Big Bear was a perfect place for us to rest after long days out and about. It was spotless! There was ample space for everyone to spread out sleeping and for relaxing. The house was well-stocked with the necessary items to get us through until we got to the grocery. We very much appreciate the opportunity to stay! Highly recommend!
My fiancé and I stayed here with three other couples and it was the perfect weekend retreat! We each had a bedroom with comfy beds and more than enough room to spread out in the space and eat dinners together. The views were absolutely incredible and we even saw a double rainbow over the house the first night. It’s a short trip from Denver and you feel like you’re really tucked away into the mountains. The property was very clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub and grill were an added bonus. I would highly recommend this place!
We gathered with our children and grand children. We have a wonderful time tiggers. The property is just as it is described-beautiful sweeping Mountain View from the deck! Perfect for us!
The view was spectacular; exactly like the photos!! Beautiful place-we would love to come back!!
