This was our first time staying in a yurt and we enjoyed it. The inside is exactly as the pictures show. The weather was perfect and it would have been nice to sit outside and there were lawn chairs but they were in very tall brush so we couldn’t enjoy the outdoor area. Vern was an excellent host and very easy to contact. If we could make any suggestions it would be to have a small hotel size microwave to make meals easier and to keep an area outside where guests could enjoy the beautiful weather.
No regrets on picking this yurt to stay in while we visited Glacier National Park. We've never stayed in a yurt so didn't know what to expect. It was very comfortable and charming. It has everything we needed for our stay. The bathroom was larger and more comfortable than we were envisioning. It's perfect for 2 people.
It was close to a small grocery store in Hungry Horse and plenty of places to eat around the area. It was a quick drive over to West Glacier.
There are some trains that run throughout the night but we slept through them for the most part. There's a little bit of highway noise but not bad.
Highly recommend this yurt!
It was a good place to stay to uncoil from city hotels. However, being in the woods with no-one nearby, with tarp structure separating you and what is out there, it is a bit unnerving and had some anxious moments. However, nothing untoward happened and I actually enjoyed the stay very much. Very well provided kitchen, towels, hot water etc. I had only 2 issues; one the owner cannot solve which is constant train while and noise through the night and I would have liked it better if there was a microwave in the place for quick reheating and a place to keep soap, shampoo etc. in the bathroom.
Overall it is an unique experience and I loved it
First time Yurt Experience Near Glacier National Park
The blue yurt provided a good lodging experience closer to GNP. Host Vern outfitted the yurt with creature comforts needed for a comfortable stay. A delightful surprise was air conditioning though chilly mornings called for using the gas stove which quickly heated up the place. Note that close by restaurant options are limited. We cooked dinner in sourcing food from the small super market in Hungry Horse. Vern was a good communicator.
If you are seeking a clean comfortable place to stay near GNP, stay here.
The yurt was great, has everything you need. Only wished there was a deck that facilitated sitting outside. There were some chairs but they were in the middle of the brush so no view and bugs (at that time of year). The weather was wonderful so we wanted to spend as much time outside as we could, but not any comfortable options. Inside only had AC or heat - screens a major effort to open. Host Vern was great.
Really enjoyed the location, and coziness of the yurt. It was our first time in a yurt and we were pleasantly surprised how nice it was. The attached bathroom was what sealed us booking our stay here. The Host was easy to communicate with and has provided most things needed for a comfortable stay. The coffee maker uses k-cups and there’s even a tea maker.
Would highly recommend if you are ready to unplug for a few days. Cell services worked fine. Pleasantly surprised with washer/dryer, diffuser & air conditioner.
Suggestions for your stay:
-Earplugs, there is a train that runs several times each night. I’m a light sleeper and needed these. We also heard neighboring dogs barking, which is out of the hosts control. Given the option, I would still choose to stay here!!
-Hairdryer, for some reason I thought there was one here.
-Wine opener, I had to get resourceful to open a bottle, 😊
Stargazing was fantastic!
Truly enjoyed our stay, thanks Vern!
Wonderful property in the heart of Glacier Country
We had a wonderful stay in the yurt. It was so crazy and comfortable, very nicely decorated and just beautiful. The property owners were very nice and so easy to work with. First class place to stay!
Felt at home immediately with the radio playing softly in the background and the air conditioner running. The host has thoughtfully provided amenities including everything from slippers to bear spray. The yurt was beautifully furnished, great location surrounded by trees...we didn't want to leave, would have been very happy spending the whole day curled up with a book but Glacier National Park was calling. We hope to return one day
We were delighted with the Blue Yurt. It was private and quiet. Before we arrived, we were concerned about what the bathroom situation would be. But, it had a very large extension connected to the yurt that housed a very spacious bathroom and washer/dryer. The Yurt was well stocked with almost everything we needed. The inside was decorated so well. It was very homey!! The owner was easy to work with and conscientious that we were pleased with it. The only thing we did not have that would have been nice was a microwave. Other than that, it was well furnished!! We would definitely stay here again if we travel to the area!!!
Vern was so nice and called me before checking in. Perfect location for exploring GNP. The yurt had everything we needed and was amazing to come back to after hiking all day. Highly recommend 10/10

A lot of fun. Very nicely done, back in the woods, very near West Glacier
My partner and I stayed at the Blue Yurt for three nights mid-September, and our expectations were way exceeded!
Location: It is very close to the park, and the roads (both to the yurt and to the park) are very accessible. Made visiting the park a breeze and we were really able to make the most of our short time. You are also very close to a gas station, grocery store, liquor store, and a couple of local bars (and the distillery) which were pretty cool.
Amenities: This yurt is way more comfortable and modern than we anticipated! We are experienced campers but never stayed in a yurt. This place was clean, warm, sooooo cozy. Also i don’t know if I missed these things in the listing, but it also had a connected full bathroom, including a newer washer and dryer. Everything is so well done and seems very new and clean. The bed (I think a queen) was extremely comfortable… we both slept great!
Extras: The host was super generous in providing a ton of things you might not have packed. Towels and clean linens. Kitchen area fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc. Bath soap and little lotions. Even some aloe, bug spray, bear spray (super important for the park!) and the like for you to use while you are there. Awesome! Made our stay much more stress free not worrying about little things we might’ve forgotten.
Cons: Not sure if we found any! We could hear the train several times (and a whitetail calling outside once lol) but it didn’t bother us or disturb our sleep.
TL;DR …. This place is awesome and the hosts clearly care about providing a great stay. If you’re thinking about booking it, do it! We can’t wait to come back!
The yurt was fully equipped with everything we needed, especially loved having access to washer/dryer.
The location is very close to West Glacier Gate, which was ideal for our site seeing plans. However, it is down the street from a bar that hosts very loud outdoor concerts late into the night. We lost some much needed sleep and were not expecting this occurring when booking a yurt in the woods near GNP. Overall a nice stay, but I’d recommend checking the concert schedule before booking, unless that is your destination. Then this is walking distance to the venue and very convenient.
