Relax with your group at this peaceful, spacious Northwoods Lakehouse and private pier. Located directly on beautiful Lake Julia, this spot is great for family getaways and weekend escapes. It is perfect for fishing (this lake is a hidden gem), swimming, boating, kayaking, jet skiing, hiking, exploring downtown Rhinelander (8 minutes away), or just relaxing. Home is located near ATV and snowmobiling trails too. It's a great place to relax, enjoy the Northwoods life, and soak in all that Wisconsin offers.
The waterfront is perfect for all. The lakefront has a sandy, walkout bottom that is shallow enough for young kids and dogs to play, while Lake Julia is deep enough for boats, great fishing, and water sports. It's the best and the lake does not get overly busy. The scenery and views from inside the Northwoods Getaway Lakehouse are beautiful as well. The Northwoods Getaway Lakehouse has a large yard, deck with seating areas, seating by the lake, dock, 3 bedrooms (2 queen beds, bunk beds (one full and one twin size), a twin bed and a futon, one large bathroom, and a large family room in the basement. Sleeps 6 comfortably with additional sleep space too. Fully equipped kitchen, and in home laundry.
The lake house is located directly on Lake Julia. It is relaxing, while still being close enough to downtown Rhinelander for dining, nightlife, and shopping. There are also ATV and snowmobiling trails. If you are a distance runner or biker, you are surrounded by wooded roads with good hills to train on.
Lake Julia is a 241 acre lake located in Oneida County. It has a maximum depth of 19 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from a public boat launch, which is a short 5 minute drive away. The Lake typically is not overly busy, and patrons are respectful of nature and one another. Fish include Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye.
There are two ATV trails located nearby, open May to late November/early December. Many surrounding roads are ATV approved. Enterprise Trail System provides 10 miles of scenic trails (16 miles round trip) in the Oneida County Forest off of Pelican Lake. The trail connects with trail systems in Langlade and Lincoln Counties, so longer rides are possible. There are many of places to stop, making it great for group and/or family rides.
The second trail is Little Rice Trail located west of Rhinelander near Willow Flowage. Little Rice Trail offers 16 miles of woodland trails, 23 miles of connecting road routes, and 76 miles of town roads open to ATV use.
In winter, the area’s excellent snowfall and consistent low temperatures help keep snow trails covered and in top condition and the lake freezes over and is perfect for ice fishing. The Oneida/Rhinelander area has over 1,100 miles of snowmobiling trails, which link to other northern Wisconsin trails and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It’s a great hub to snowmobiling in the Northwoods!
This property HAS air conditioning (a lot of the cabins up here do not).
Lastly, please note, being in the Northwoods, there is a seasonality to the property and amenities. We do prepare for winter weather by pulling the dock and kayaks and putting away lawn furniture, so items are not damaged by the Northwoods winter weather. Typically, we pull these items mid to late October and put them back out mid to late May.

Enjoyed our stay the water was warm and the house was perfect for our family. Nice view of the water. Great quiet location. Will be back in the future.
Great place, clean house well accommodated our family with all the amenities we needed. Had a big yard and nice deck. Quiet area and beautiful spot on the water. Loved sitting down by the lake. Good spot for swimming and fishing. Good lake for water activity.
Nice frontage, great for swimming. The lake was not too busy, had a great time tubing and jet skiing. There’s a lot to do in the area to keep kids busy, stores nearby, a dog park, etc. The yard is perfect for dogs and for yard games. We really enjoyed the deck and the firepit overlooking the lake too.
We really enjoyed our stay at Northwoods Lakehouse Getaway. The home is spacious, clean and tidy, with many convenient amenities. The water is super clear at the beach. Fishing from the dock proved a little difficult due to weeds, but we caught 2 bass! My daughter brought her own kayak and we were happy to be able to use a kayak that belonged to the property. It is a beautiful lake, the views from the house are scenic, and our dogs enjoyed time with us too. Location here was a huge plus! Shopping was close by (the Hodag shop was a fun stop) and trips to Eagle River and Minoqua were not far.
Beautiful, quiet lake perfect for fishing, kayaking and relaxation
The cabin on lake Julia was perfect for our stay. The lake is clean and quiet and didn't have a lot of boat traffic. We really appreciated the provided kayaks and inflatables. There are plenty of spots to sit down and enjoy views of the lake. There are stairs to the dock and lake which was fine for us but a challenge for my older relatives who stopped by. Not having AC wasn't really an issue for us as there are ceiling fans in the upstairs rooms and large floor fans in the living area. The large lot was perfect for our dogs and gave a feeling of privacy.
All in all, it was a comfortable, peaceful stay.
This is a nice little cottage on the shores of Lake Julia. The place has everything you could need for a week of vacation. Kitchen is well stocked with the basics, with plenty of room for everyone to stretch out. One note to any families: only one bathroom for the entire house but not an issue for us. Outside it is a short walk down the stairs to the small beach area. It is a mostly sandy shore with less sand as you head out. The dock is perfect for morning coffee or afternoon with a book and drink of choice. Nikki is an outstanding communicator throughout the process...although we did not need anything she is available if you do! We will definitely consider this place again should we head back to the area!
Spacious and beautifullly kept home with large lawn great for children and dogs to play. Conveniently located to town on quiet court. Few steps down to beach with clear sandy water great for kayak or canoe and fishing off the dock. No AC but cool breezes and mosquito free. Awesome VRBO rental.
Lake Julia is a beautiful, clean lake. Our grandchildren caught lots of fish from the dock. The cottage was great and would be perfect if it had air conditioning (our week was super hot).
This was a lovely little piece of paradise on Lake Julia, WI that was so peaceful and relaxing. Great yard front and back if you bring kids and dogs. We played many rounds of corn hole and bocce ball. The steps to the dock are wooden, steep and narrow, so just hold onto the railing if you have little ones or older folks. Nice seating area by water and ability to walk right into the water. The two kayak were used daily and it is a small enough and calm enough lake to kayak around the whole lake. Seating for 7 between the high top table and barstools. Downstairs has bunk beds in the only bedroom and a futon. plus a twin under the stairs. Washer and dryer were appreciated. Friendly neighbors and very quiet cul de sac. Note there is one bathroom that was a little tricky with grandkids, no AC if you are looking for that, and only one window in master bedroom has a screen. There is a sink in master bedroom which is super nice! We really found Nikki to be super responsive and easy to work with. The place was as described and the sunsets were incredible every night. Would recommend if looking for a nice, relaxing vacation and only 10-15 minutes into Rhinelander . Great train museum for kids and adults for free with wonderful playground and dog parks, all close. Trigs, Walmart and Golden Harvest all close by. We so enjoyed this place. Would come again.
Overall was very great property and perfect for family and young toddler. The deck area, yard, fire pit, beach, and kayaks are great . Could use a deep cleaning in some areas very dusty on ceiling fans and above refrigerator.
This property checked all our boxes when looking for a Northwoods getaway with family! The home is located on a quiet dead end street and the kids enjoyed riding their bikes up and down the long drive way. The lake was the perfect size to be out on the water boating, kayaking, and fishing. My 9 year old was ecstatic to catch his first northern, muskie, and crappie in this lake. The dock area has a nice sandy bottom and shallow water allowing for the kids to play safely. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had and were very accomodating. Would definitely stay here again!

Quiet lake is wonderful clean and clear the house and yard are dog and kid friendly close to shopping with a car or bike.
This was a very relaxing atmosphere, house was clean and liked how open the floor plan was. We lived outside mostly on the deck and in the water. Will go back
Again, we are very sorry that you were disappointed with the stay in mid April. Unfortunately being in the Northwoods, there is a seasonality to maintenance and availability of some amenities. The dock, kayaks, and outdoor furniture are put away for the winter to protect them (typically put up late October). We are sorry that the expectation was they were available in early/mid April. The Northwoods tend to get big snowfalls into spring and sometimes into May (there was a storm about a week before your stay), so these items are not available until mid to late May. I thank you for bringing this to our attention and we did update the listing to avoid this for guests in the future.

Why they chose this property
My family and I vacationed here last year in 2018. We found the location perfectly unique, as it had a pier, deep water, and shallow water with walkout beach. It was perfect for the adults (boating, kayaking, fishing...) and the little kids (swimming and playing on the beach). The property was for sale, and we enjoyed our stay so much that we bought it. We have been back up multiple times, and have found it relaxing each time we have visited. The lake house is on a dead end street , directly on Lake Julia. It is quiet enough to be relaxing and serene, while still being close enough to downtown Rhinelander, for nightlife, dining, and shopping. Great for family getaways, weekend escapes, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, ATVs, exploring downtown Rhinelander (10-15 minute drive). It’s a quiet place to relax, enjoy the Northwoods life, and soak in Wisconsin. If you are a distance runner or biker, you are surrounded by quiet country roads with good hills to train on too!
What makes this property unique
The views from the living room, dining area, and deck are amazing! The sunrises are beautiful from the home, and the lake is serene and beautiful.
