Renovated home between Duke/Durham & UNC/Chapel Hill
The house is on a cul de sac in a quiet neighborhood that has easy access to the interchange of MLK and Rte. 40. We purchased the home in Nov. 2018 and have totally renovated it, including a completely new kitchen equipped for a serious cook and updated baths. There is no surface in the house from floor to ceiling that was not touched. In addition to the living & dining rooms there is a breakfast area and family room off the kitchen. Large master suite on 1st floor. There are 2 bedrooms, a full bath and a small office on the second floor. There is an elliptical trainer in the small office. The 800 sq. ft. deck on the back has furniture and a gas grill. There is an attached garage for 2 cars. We have a 2018 Hyundai Sonata that remains in Chapel Hill when we go to Boston and we would consider renting along with the house. We have a stroller and highchair and can probably arrange a pack and play. We rented the house for the month of July 2019 through another home rental service. Here is the review that the renter left: This home is a gem. Peaceful, quiet, and well appointed and equipped, it was the perfect home for my family of four to stay for just under a month as we awaited the availability of our new home locally. The location is convenient to anywhere in the Durham/Chapel Hill area: Duke, UNC, shopping, Duke Forest nature trails, and easy access to I-40. The house has been beautifully renovated, bright and light with plenty of windows, so one can enjoy the comfortable and pretty indoors as well as the outdoor natural beauty of the large private lot. The kitchen is exceptionally nice, and the hosts were easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this property for anyone who needs all the comforts of home with hosts who pay attention to details and are attentive to renters’ needs.

We stayed for five weeks in this stunning home. The home is in a lovely neighborhood and is situated beautifully on a wooded and private lot. The decor is tasteful and elegant. The kitchen is a cook’s dream. Highly recommend!
The property was exactly as advertised. A beautifully maintained, modern house, with a large deck, very well equipped and maintained. It was quiet and private, and very well located for access to highways, food shopping and the towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro. The kitchen had everything you could need to cook anything and more, and everywhere was scrupulously clean. For the few questions we had, the owner responded very quickly before and during our trip. Thanks to the hosts for a lovely stay!
My wife and I stayed here for 2 weeks to visit our daughter who lives in Durham. The place was great, with a huge deck, so our daughter and husband were able to join us for socially-distant meals on the deck. Our hosts were very helpful, and we would happily stay here again.

About the host
Hosted by Audrey Kadis
My husband and I are retired and primarily live in Boston. We bought this house so we can spend 1/2 year in Chapel Hill close to our daughter and grandchildren. Eventually we will relocate there so we fixed up the house for ourselves. My husband is a fine art photographer and the house is full of his photographs.
Why they chose this property
We bought this house because it is 7 minutes from where our daughter lives, it is not part of a cookie-cutter development, it has an open modern floor plan, we could make it our own rather than living with finishes picked by a builder and the master suite is on the first floor. I love to cook and after gutting the old kitchen I have the space and equipment for serious cooking. Having the family room means we have a space for our 2 and 4 year old grandkids to play while maintaining adult space. The house has toys, books and equipment for a baby and small children since we babysit a lot.
What makes this property unique
The house feels like it is in the country, but we have quick, easy access to either Durham/Duke or Chapel Hill/UNC. There are shops including a grocery store 4 minutes from our house. The house is newly furnished with a restful, contemporary, uncluttered style.
