The Big Sky resort is beautiful and this condo location is great. Front desk and front door staff are excellent.Room was spacious and clean. Walkable to the main outdoor plaza.Only negatives- pool water was uncomfortably hot and not very clean. Room carpet had some damage. Parking was a bit awkward, with walking thru a tunnel and up/down a hill for non-valet.
Great stay. Comfortable, clean, and quiet. The place was exactly as described.

Very beautiful and quit place in Montana's summer. It's a nice place to explore outdoor sports. The ski resort is just behind the hotel and it has wonderful MTB trails.
The room was spacious and clean. Perfect location for a ski in/out vacation at Big Sky. We were able to use the spa/hot tub area. The entire stay was perfect.

Great and comfortable stay!
The condo completely suited our needs and was so much better than a hotel room. While we didn’t have the beautiful views from our window, we got those all throughout the day when out and about. We loved having two bathrooms and the bed was plenty comfortable. We would stay at this spot again!
The unit is on second floor of Shoshone building. It describes as ski in/out, but you have to carry your ski from the room to the outdoor. It is not ski to your door mat type. The condo is clean and has the basic needs. I shared the room with my daughter so the bed was ok, but the bed frame makes squeaky sound (very loud) which would be very uncomfortable for a couple. We enjoyed our stay.

Big Sky
The house was clean, had everything we needed for sleeping/meals/hanging out in the room. Aside from a slight miscommunication on the parking code, we had no issues. Communication was easy and they fixed the parking code access quickly. Would definitely stay again.
Location is great. Walkable to the lifts with kids in ski boots.
Plenty of space for family of 4. Had everything we needed. Kitchen was great and we stayed and cooked nearly all meals in the condo. Just parked the car and left it parked for most of the stay.
Kids loved the hot tub/pool. Made lots of snow angels wearing only their swimming suits.

Fun in Big Sky
Loved Montana. Shoshone 1917 was just as pictured. Had only a few minor questions for Vacasa regarding inactive cards for pool / laundry access. Our garbage was not picked up during our stay and laundry was “closed off” (?) Overall we had a wonderful experience.

Hi Chris. Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience during your stay, and we appreciate your honest feedback. We apologize for the inconvenience you encountered with the laundry issues. Our local operations manager will pick up the garbage on the Monday, Wednesday, and Friday schedules. We will do our best to continue to improve and have a wonderful stay with our guests. We look forward to welcoming you back for another wonderful getaway in the future.
Great location but some areas need to be addressed
Property is short walk to lift. Property serves the purpose for a few days of skiing however areas need updating. Bed in master needs new mattress as well as pillows. Kitchen amenities, coffee maker, cooking pans/utensils old and worn.

We appreciate your feedback and will take it to the owner for their consideration. Thank you!
Easy check in, clean, stairs and two elevators make for easy access. Sofa bed was not comfortable for our 16 year old but the Murphy bed was perfect for our other teen.
With both beds open the living area/kitchen was tight but it was all we needed after a day on the slopes. Master suite is HUGE - enough rom to store all of our bags and gear without cluttering up the small living area. Hair dryer is broken. Kitchen is sparse in terms of cooking ware so beware if you plan to cook many meals. Grab staples on your way in at a local grocer then walk to the village and grab any fillers for your stay. We never left after parking but lot is close to the unit and you can drive and drop bags when you arrive/depart (complete with bellhops). Never had to contact property manager. Would definitely stay again!

Total lack of communication
The condo was fine. Vacasa however has been an awful experience. I didn’t get check in instructions until I called upon arrival. On the second day I was sent an email stating to move my car for snowploughs or get towed at your own expense. Didn’t offer alternative parking. I called to ask and spoke with someone who promised he’d calll me back and never did. I’ve spent thousands on this vacation and I’m mortified by Vacasa. VRBO please remove them from your platform!

Thank you for your review, Annette, we regret to hear that your time with us was less than satisfactory. We sincerely apologize for any disconnect in the care you received when communicating with our team and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We welcome your feedback as a means to improve and will be sure to follow up with the appropriate parties regarding your experience. We hope to have the opportunity to truly impress you in the future.
The Good
• Place was clean
• Beds were comfortable
• Easily slept 4 (two in the master bedroom, one kid on sofa bed, one kid on Murphy Bed)
• Just a few steps to the Explorer lift (note: you will need to walk through hotel/Huntley to get outside)
• No issues with parking pass, codes, etc.
• Working kitchen, stocked with plates, glasses etc.
• Outdoor pool is nice
• Centrally located to Mountain Village
The Not as Good:
• Place has a musty smell – presumably from carpet getting wet from snow and drying many times over
o You get used to it after a couple of minutes (at least we did), but we’d rather not have it to begin with
• There is no access to laundry
o This is our fault – although the property description does not list laundry as an amenity, the Shoshone website does.
• Similarly – you’ll need to take out your own trash unless you are booked through the Shoshone directly.
• The fireplace did not work
• Still a bit confused about Vrbo vs Vacasa. I mean, I intellectually know the difference between the two, but streamlining things so all info goes through one app or platform would be much simpler (and less texts and emails, geesh)

Blood stained comforter
Never rent from Vacasa. We have used VRBO multiple times and have never had an issue. I'll get into the differences of true person owned property and corporate owned property later. Let me hit the biggest issue first. We arrived late on Sunday. Entry was easy. The next morning we discovered the comforter my daughter had used was blood stained (dark blood stains). After making sure she did not have a nose bleed, we contacted Vacasa management immediately. Multiple times. Each time we were told they were sorry and would fix the issue. They referred to replacing the comforter as a” request”. As a doctor I can say that having a blood stained comforter fermenting in our ski-in condo is a biohazard and not a request. A request is asking for more towels or pillows. After pointing this out, Vacasa agreed, yet nothing happened. 3 days and literally dozens of contacts by me we finally heard from the local management who replaced the comforter with a blanket…not that night but the next day, on day 4 of 6. Vacasa does not have a relationship with the actual management of the resort. The blood stained comforter sat in a pile by the front door. We had 6 plates =maximum number of people allowed in the unit. There were less bowls and cups.Included were 6 dishwasher pads. The kitchen poorly stocked. The fridge was missing the shelves. It is a poorly equipped kitchen...A stark contrast to other VRBOs.Eventually Vacasa agreed to a 50% refund that arrrived as39%. Over promise under deliver

great place for skiing
super location for skiing, very functional and comfortable apartment
Do NOT stay in unit 1917 of Shoshone Condos at Big Sky!
Some large piece of equipment is apparently running in the room underneath unit 1917 which causes the master bedroom and master bath to vibrate non-stop, 24/7. It causes a thumping noise on your ear drums in the master bath because it bounces off all the hard surfaces, it shakes the master bed, and if you close the master bedroom door it rattles continuously from the vibration. Do not book that room. Front desk staff at Shoshone were unwilling to help at all because we booked through Vrbo/Vacasa. Vacasa kept saying they would send someone, but they never did. I slept in the vibrating room for 4 nights and finally gave up and left early before our stay was scheduled to end. It was intolerable.
