Check-in was smooth and easy. The hosts were very quick to respond and easy to communicate with regarding any questions. The kitchen was well stocked with anything we needed and had 2 ovens for cooking plus a blackstone outside. Having our 3 families together we had plenty of space for sleeping, cooking and we loved the basketball court out back for the kids to play on.
This was our second time staying here and it was again a great choice. There was enough beds for everyone in our group and the kitchen was stocked with all the pots/pans/appliances we needed. Communication was great with the host.
We had a great time at this house! It was very clean and had everything we needed. We all loved the basketball court, sauna and walking down to the creek! We took many day trips and then loved relaxing at the house and having bonfires. We would definitely stay here again when we go back again!
The home had everything we needed to enjoy our stay in Atlantic Mine. Beautiful location along Cole's Creek. The beds were very comfy and we all slept well. The trails were close and we had a blast riding our side by sides each day of our stay. It's also just a few minutes from Houghton/Hancock for a bit of shopping and dinner.
Our group had a great stay. Our only complaint was that in mid August, the house got pretty warm on the days that the weather was hot. Overall we were very comfortable and our group loved the sauna!
Atlantic Mine worked beautifully for us. It’s location, bed options and outdoor areas (fire pit, deck, basketball court) worked well for the 3 families that make up our extended family. All the extras - coffee, tea, firewood, ice maker - were such a great touch. We loved the UP and would stay here again If/when we return.
Home away from home is the best to describe this place! It was big enough to accommodate our large group of 14. The only thing i would underrate this place for is the beds….they could be upgraded. Other than that everything was great! Two ovens were awesome too for cooking for such a large group!
Super nice and clean cabin!
We’ve book this cabin to celebrate New Year with family. We were hoping to rent snowmobiles and go to ski to Mt Ripley , but unfortunately there wasn’t snow, and even though we had a great time in that place.
The cabin was big enough for 14 people, it was clean, stuffed with all necessary equipment and spices and coffee and tea, even shampoo and conditioner:) Also there was so many games for kids. Sauna was a great bonus. The property was in the wood , so we went with kids for hiking.
Checking and checkout process was super easy. I highly recommend this cabin and host. We really enjoyed our stay there and hope to come back again for snowmobiling:)
Excellent property with very attentive owners. The log cabin is one of a kind and a true gem. There is a creek for fishing, black sand beach nearby for amazing sunsets, cool activities in Houghton, and large enough for multiple families. We had between 16 to 19 people staying depending on the day. Lots of room for everyone. Basketball court was fun along with fires at night. Wood was provided along with nice bed linens, towels, and kitchen items. Washer and dryer help for longer stays. Rent this property! It is great!
Our daughter was starting college at Michigan Tech and we came up a few days before move in to spend some time in the area with my sister and her family. We met with the owners quickly upon arrival and just let them know when we were checking out with a text. They were very friendly and accommodating. .
This log home was clean, beautiful, and had everything we needed for cooking, an abundance of clean towels, hot water, and tp and even a few extra toiletries in case you forgot something. There are two living room areas for watching tv, but we all fit in one comfortably. It has a large family table and little nook for playing games. I enjoyed just sitting on the deck in the morning with a cup of coffee. You are in a private peaceful setting, but only a few minutes from Houghton. We would love to rent this home again for our snowmobile trip this winter.
Perfect weekend with the family! Great location to explore so much nearby and still feel out in the woods. Views from the deck are gorgeous, kids loved having basketball and the stars were unbelievable! Lots of room for bigger groups to spread out and have their own space too. The upstairs loft area is separate enough for some piece or for the kids to enjoy without being isolated. Both Sarah and Bruce are extremely kind and responsive. A all around!
It's a great place to stay especially for a group. We took turns cooking our evening meal and the kitchen amenities and size made it very convenient. I could even say amazing. Having two indoor gathering areas - upstairs and downstairs as well as the dining room table really worked out nicely. Great outdoors also. And, again multiple gathering areas. Most of our group was in our 70's but I could see there would be plenty of things to entertain young children as well as young adults.
