Property is Available for Seasonal Rental ONLY, June 1- August 30. A Magical Cottage, tastefully decorated with country & forest views & 5 minutes from Sherman's private beach. Country Lake Cottage – Lovely Furnished Cottage. Make this your weekend/holiday home; or live like you are permanently on Vacation. 2 bedrooms, dining room (or home office), 1 1/2 baths and an Ample 2 Car Garage on 2.5 private acres, with a double deck over looking quiet wooded property. Private Community Beach. The cottage is freshly painted and has: lovely hardwood floors, a romantic fireplace, stainless steel appliances, modern granite kitchen, & seasonal mountain views off the decks. The decks have outdoor furniture & a new fire pit for entertaining. It is also conveniently located, being: 1.5 hours from NYC, 15 minutes from Pawling NY Train Station & 20 minutes from Brewster train Station; & for traveling medical professionals we are 18 miles from Danbury Hospital. The cottage has tasteful decor and a nature lovers exterior overlooking a lushly forested 2 1/2 acres on a town designated "Scenic Road" populated with farms, horses, a miniature donkey, and periodically grazing cows. A true serene rustic escape with access to our Private BEACH only 5 minutes from the cottage, a bike ride away (with f/t Lifeguard). Sherman includes and is surrounded by numerous hiking trails, community theaters, farm stands, wineries and an incredible outdoor flea market. (also w/n driving distance of ski resorts). The Landlord provides lawn maintenance. Stay. Landlord requires: Rental Application. Lease, Credit Check, Security Deposit + 3 Months rent. NO SMOKING. No pets. I purchased this property because I am a nature lover and I enjoy the peace and solitude found on this 2 1/2 acre property, with its tree laden forest views, located in the rustic and rural area of Sherman. Escape to your own private Mindfulness Sanctuary! We are on the CT Wine Trail - Come be our guests & go hiking, fishing, swimming, wine tasting, antiquing, flea marketing; or see a play at Sherman playhouse, visit Kent Falls and stroll their quaint Main Street, or explore the many nature sanctuaries all within 30 minutes from our cottage.

If you like swimming, Wine Tasting, biking hiking, Fall foliage, shopping for fresh farm produce at the farmers market, fishing, boating, kayaking, birdwatching, horse back riding, tubing, or antiquing then this cottage will delight you. You have all this and more within 5 - 35 minutes from the cottage. You can explore the many hiking trails, nature preserves, beaches, farmers markets, and antique stores practically right outside your door. We also have the famous Daryl's House ( from the band Hall & Oates - this is owned by Daryl Hall) - a fabulous night club and restaurant for a night of unique entertainment; & on Sundays the largest flea market in New England - The Elephants Trunk. Please note this is the home of an artist and is not your typical rental with generic rental furniture. There are hand painted pillows, floor mats, hand made curtains & hand painted furniture throughout the house.

We are also on the CT Wine Trail and just 8 minutes away you can stop by The White Silo in Sherman for a bit of Wine Tasting. There are farmers markets in New Milford on Saturday and 1 right up the street from the cottage, at Happy Acres farm on Sunday. This Cottage offers endless opportunities to Explore a variety of interests and Enjoy yourselves participating in 1 or more of your favorite activity/ies.
