About this property

Romantic Barn House - Relax in private lush surroundings.

Petite Cachette (Little Hideaway) is a charming 1 bedroom guest house secretly tucked away inside an authentic red barn. Located down a long drive from the owners home and recently updated, this comfortably furnished guest house has a living room downstairs with a wood burning stove, mini-split heat/AC, a well equipped kitchen and a bathroom, including a washer and dryer. Also downstairs and tucked in a corner area is a twin daybed for guests that don’t wish to share the Queen bed. Upstairs you'll find a spacious loft bedroom with a romantic 4 poster Queen bed and walk-in closet. Outside you are surrounded by a private well groomed pasture of 5 + acres (where you'll frequently see deer) and beautiful old growth trees. Sit outside and relax while barbecuing on the gas grill or toasting marshmallows in the wood burning Fire Pit or just enjoying the lush scenery.
This special property is located in the Olympic Peninsula just minutes off the Hood Canal Bridge, and Shine Tidelands state park in Port Ludlow, Washington. PL has fine dining at the Fireside Restaurant at the Port Ludlow Inn, A Mini Mart, Mexican Restaurant, Five Star Golf Course, and wonderful hiking trails and a beautiful Marina where you can rent kayaks. We are centrally located to several quaint towns just North and South of us. Just south of Port Ludlow across the Hood Canal Bridge is the historic town of Port Gamble, which is great for shopping, theater, eating, antiquing and kayaking. Just a little further south is the charming Nordic town of Poulsbo. Front street alongside Liberty Bay has several great shops including antiques/vintage, clothing, home decor, souvenirs, waterfront restaurants and the awesome Sluy's Bakery!
Just North of Port Ludlow are more great towns, including Port Hadlock, Port Townsend, Chimacum, Sequim and Port Angeles to name a few. We hope you enjoy your visit here, and feel free to contact us for any further info.

Additionally, no refunds/compensation will be made due to adverse weather, rain, storms, snow, wind, fire, etc. If this is a concern, we highly suggest purchasing trip insurance.

We often have back to back bookings with Guests leaving in the morning and new guests arriving in the afternoon on the same day. Check out time is 11:00 AM. If you are running late by a few minutes you must let us know! For every hour that you stay after the 11:00 AM check-out time, you will be charged the equivalent of a 1 night stay. We need this time to throughly clean and sanitize per Covid19 cleaning requirements, before our next guests arrive.

Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate oversized vehicles (RV’s etc) on our property due to lower hanging tree branches on the driveway and narrow drive. Please keep vehicles on paved areas, and no parking on the grass.

Owner reserves the right to immediately terminate the guest’s stay for violating any of the house rules. No compensation will be refunded for unused days for violating the rental agreement and guests will be subject to any damages incurred.

Perfect place for a peaceful getaway!
This is a beautiful, peaceful and impeccably clean place to stay and a great base from which to explore the Olympic Peninsula! Leslie and Don take so much care to make sure guests feel welcome, and communication about everything from how to get there to where to find extra firewood was excellent. The kitchen is well-stocked and great for anyone who likes to cook. Highly recommended!

Peaceful getaway!
Beautiful setting and a good location for exploring the area. Extra touches with decorations and food make this an unsurpassed VRBO stay. Definitely the best stocked kitchen we have had access to. The hosts even provided a travel toothbrush/paste which was appreciated as I forgot my own. Comfortable bed and not asking for too much extra work/tasks before we left (as with some rentals). Easy process for check-in and check-out. Overall, a very pleasant retreat as a couple. We will recommend this to our friends.

Perfect cottage for Anniversary trip
We had a great stay and enjoyed our visit at this stand alone barn for our anniversary celebration. Leslie has incredible detail and nice personal touches, including her baking a bunt cake, red wine, water, cheese/ crackers and chocolate teuffles! We made this our home while checking out the beautiful sites to see around the Olympic Peninsula which has so much to offer! Hope to return someday amd thank you again!

Quiet getaway
Had a pleasant stay at the Barn House. Electric company cut power for some work nearby, but Don and Leslie had a generator and electrical set up to keep a few lights on and the fridge running. Nice quiet rural location.

Why they chose this property

The 5 1/2 acre property is stunning with old growth trees, lush greenery, groomed pastures, ocean view (from the main house only) and secluded area. Peace and tranquility are abundant.

What makes this property unique

The barn is very unique. It has 4 stalls for horses, (no horses on the premises at this time) a good sized workshop, and the charming comfortable guest house, secretly tucked inside.
The barn is located down below the main house, and very private, so guests can feel like they have the place to themselves.
