My friends and I came to Waco for one of their birthdays. The house is in a nice neighborhood. Check in went well. The house is clean and comfortable. It was really neat to stay in a Fixer Upper house. Would definitely recommend.
Our impression of the property is good. We had a good experience, it was wonderful to actually get to stay in a property from the "Fixer Upper" TV program. We do have some comments. The house on the exterior has had some changes since its renovation. We wish it would have been kept to original appearance. The landscaping has been let go over time. The interior of the home could use a thorough cleaning. We were not expecting to have to bring certain supplies, for example, shampoo. This was not communicated with us.
Loved this place! We especially enjoyed watching the Fixer Upper episode while being IN the very house we are watching! Everything was clean, and orderly. If I make it to Waco again, I'll stay again!
The property was close to restaurants, shopping and Baylor. Far enough away that you didn’t hear traffic and had a cozy neighborhood feel. Would stay there again.
We had a great visit at the Brick House celebrating my mother's milestone birthday with my sister. Perfect size for the 3 of us, clean and comfortable. It was centrally located to all the Magnolia and Waco activities. Thanks again for a wonderful and memorable stay!
Cute and clean. So fun to stay in a home renovated by Joanna and Chip when visiting the silos. The location is great, just a short drive to pretty much everything. You are in the city so expect all the usual traffic noise, dogs barking, sirens, etc. We enjoyed our stay.
No toiletries were provided - shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bath soap. Had to go purchase those. Internet EXTREMELY slow, upstairs shower barely a trickle. Decor was lacking. Exterior landscaping mostly bare. If you’re looking for a true Magnolia/fixer upper experience, this is not it.
Everything was clean and very comfortable. We would definitely stay again. Our only two recommendations would be to please place a privacy curtain in downstairs bathroom window (the current one is literally see through lace) and stock more paper goods in bathrooms. Overall, it was a pleasant experience:)
We loved the house and it was central to everything. The host had purchased a blow dryer which was appreciated. We wish there had been some steak knives included with the utensils. Otherwise it was a great stay.
House was amazing. If you're going to Waco for Magnolia events/activities, this is a great house. Plenty of room and owner more than accommodating. Great communications.
Only negative was loft upstairs very hot in summer time. Not sure there's air conditioning to that area.

On our Way to Waco
Need written instructions for using TV.
Upstairs need small table or shelves in the bathroom to put personal items on.
Need tables away from dormers to put suitcases on. Everyone loved the beds.

Little disappointing
I have to agree with a review I recently read—could have been a little cleaner. Would like to have had shampoo etc in bathroom. Appearance when driving up not welcoming. Was comfortable enough but not over the top.

Needed a nice shelf in both bathrooms and a shade on the window in downstairs bathroom. It would have been nice to have a list of good restaurants, things to do, directions for the TV, etc.
We didn't have any soap! It would be nice to include soap, small bottles of shampoo and conditioner, etc.
Tables in TV room are very wobbly. A TV upstairs would be nice too.
We loved staying in your cute house. Loved the kitchen. Thanks!

The Brick House
The lack of landscaping maintenance, the empty front porch planters (one was filled with stagnant water) and the dirty front door made the home appear unwelcoming. All of the windows were filthy and had an abundance of cobwebs.
The homeowner is capitalizing on this property based on the first-floor renovation by Chip and Joanna which was well done. The Gaines’ attention to detail is flawless. Not so much by the current owner.
The cleanliness of the home has deteriorated. Black hair from previous renter was everywhere. Crumbs were on the dining room table and runner. The microwave was not cleaned. A used pod was left in the Keurig. The upstairs shower had not been cleaned – black hair in it and the lower portion of the shower had not been thoroughly scoured for quite some time.
There was only one wine glass and a butcher knife available to use. Plates in the cupboard were wet. The outside trash containers were full and “ripe”. The side gate is open so receiving a code for it is unnecessary as it appears to be non-functional. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy. We did request the services from the Waco police department for a safety issue.
Rhiannon Fountain does not provide a phone number or an email address for communication purposes. It is unfortunate this homeowner is not maintaining the standard of a Premier Host. A better cleaning person/company is highly suggested.
Lovely home in Old Waco. Downstairs is very comfortable. Upstairs bathroom is small and low ceiling in some places but bed was very comfortable and AC units worked well. Recommend.
We loved The Brick House! It was so wonderful to stay 4 nights in a real Chip & Jo home from Fixer Upper and it totally lived up to my expectations. The home was clean and in a fine neighborhood. Very close to all things Magnolia and the Silos. We loved having Discovery Plus so we could watch all the shows about the places we were visiting. The host was great and very communicative and quickly fixed one check-in hiccup that was not her fault. This is an old home and a rental property, so everything isn’t perfect, but that didn’t detract from our love of staying here! Absolutely would stay again!
