About this property

This cozy, secluded casita has total privacy on the 1.4-acre property of a fully gated home on one of the most beautiful/walk-able streets in Cardiff. French doors open to a large peaceful outdoor seating deck underneath a massive avocado tree, overlooking a private garden. Relax in the hammock while reading a book or take a 3 minute drive or bike ride into town.

Small non-shedding dogs welcome for a $25 nightly fee! Please select that you will be bringing a pet when you go to book!

We are located less than a mile from the I-5 freeway, just a mile and a half from the beach and downtown Cardiff, two miles to downtown Encinitas and the Encinitas Botanical Gardens, three miles to downtown Solana Beach and four miles to the famous Del Mar Race track and La Costa Spa. Additional destinations in Carlsbad including Legoland, great shopping/outlets and restaurants are only a 20 minute drive north. The San Diego Airport, Zoo, Wild Animal Park, and Sea World are 30 minutes south. Traffic dependent, DisneyLand in Anaheim is typically an hour and downtown LA less than two hours.

You will have everything you need for a peaceful getaway. Amenities include a full kitchen (gas stove, oven, microwave, fridge, and Keurig), full size bed, washer/dryer, new 40” smart tv with Netflix, very large closet, two private entrances, and parking directly in front of the casita. If needed, we have a pack-n-play, or we can include a twin size air mattress for a child (which can fit in the closet).

Unfortunately, due to Encinitas short term rental requirements, minimum booking must be 31 days.

Cottage was perfect for 2 people and a small dog, quiet, peaceful everything you needed for a couple of weeks. The owners were very nice and helpful if we needed anything. Will probably stay there again.

Quiet ridge top casita

Small but very quiet, bed very comfortable, bathroom tight but clean, large shower, private backyard patio, large walk-in closet, small and tidy kitchen, nice neighborhood, owners easy to deal with. We would definitely use again!

Charming and Peaceful Place

I loved my stay at this lovely Spanish-style casita! I spent time here while house hunting throughout SoCal. I worked online (Zoom sessions no problem!) from the desk inside, which I positioned to look out the windows/French doors to the lovely surrounding garden. The property has beautiful tropical landscaping, including an avocado tree in the patio area private to this cottage. The neighborhood is great for running and walking, and there is a peek-a-boo ocean view from the kitchen (and around the neighborhood). The w/d is awesome for longer stays. It's the perfect homebase from which to explore. The owners are wonderful people who were so kind and accommodating. There is a 3-4 bar 5G ultra-wide band signal here. I appreciated having that as a backup, if needed, for my work. I am grateful for my time here.

We moved to this home in the summer of 2018 with our three children. We are originally from Chicago, but had brief layovers in New York and Kansas City before settling in San Diego in 2011!

Why they chose this property

We love the location of this property, being no more than 5-15 minutes from all surrounding North County beach towns! This street and and the property also have a calming and tropical feel that we fell in love with!

What makes this property unique

This casita has its own private deck and small yard that is well shaded. We are also located at the top of a bluff that gets an amazing ocean breeze, keeping it cooler in the warmer months than in other neighboring surrounding areas!
