We rented this beautiful Portuguese paço for my 40th birthday weekend, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The house is absolutely stunning, full of charm, character and history, and was the most wonderful setting for a weekend of celebrating, eating, laughing and making unforgettable memories.Rita & Lourenço were incredibly kind, warm and helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Their hospitality made the whole experience even more special. It was truly an unbelievable weekend, and one we will remember forever. We left already wishing we could come back. Thank you for making my 40th so incredibly memorable!

Zauberhafter Palast für unsere Traumhochzeit

Lieber Lourenco, liebe Rita, lieber Mateus, Ihr seid wundervoll!

Merci beaucoup, cher Florian.

Portuguese palace

A beautiful old mansion, very atmospheric. We enjoyed the garden, pool and local setting with horses, chickens, ducks, fresh fruit and vines. Great days out to waterfalls, beaches and pretty towns nearby.

A fantastic property and a wonderful host

This place is superb. A beautiful miniature palace, hundreds of years old, with stunning gardens and a fascinating history. Our host was attentive and friendly, and the surrounding area has it all, with delightful towns on the river and a stunning beach just 15 minutes away. We can’t wait to return.

My name is Lourenço de Almada and i am natural of this great Minho mansion in Lanheses - Viana do Castelo. As a representative and heir of one of the most noble and ancient families of Portugal, I had early contact with the Portuguese heritage, its traditions, which are my passion of study and visit, here and abroad. Now I am pleased to put this knowledge at your disposal, being one of them the "art of good hospitality."

Why they chose this property

I did not buy the property because it is in my family for over 500 years.
