Excellent location; great cabin inside and outside; very clean and well appointed for a nice stay in the NC mountains. We stayed 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute. Lots to keep everyone busy in the cabin since we did have some rain. We do plan to stay there in the future. I would recommend this cabin very highly.
We are so grateful for the feedback! Its our sincerest hope that we have another opportunity to welcome you back to our home again in the very near future.
Great space for our family, loved the location, and had a wonderful stay! We had plenty of room for our family of 4 (including two teenagers). We were doing a college visit for our oldest, and this home was a great home base. Loved the view and all the amenities!

We stayed at Bear Valley and they had everything you need to enjoy your stay. Very close to Boone yet away from any traffic. Very tranquil. We used the hot tub, played pool, ping pong and corn hole. We will defiantly be back!

Private, quiet location convenient to all of high country
My four kids, parents, partner and I stayed here for a weekend. It feels remote and private and has an incredible view. However it’s such a short drive to Valle Crucis, Boone and grandfather mountain. The hot tub was super clean and the beds were very comfy. Nice large kitchen too!

My family and old dog enjoyed the cabin very much. The best part of our vacation was a family ping pong tournament downstairs. The cabin was exactly as advertised. It would have been great if the next cabin was further away but the view was amazing and the property had everything I needed. Would definitely stay again.

Very nice “cabin”. Enjoyed the view. There for a wedding so not much free time. Clean and spacious. Jacuzzi hadn’t been used much apparently - some kind of dead bugs came shooting out from spouts. Not pleasant!

The beginning of our trip was good. Heating in the house was ok. Some rooms stayed chilly (master bedroom/bath), some very warm (basement bedroom) However, during the snow storm we woke up to no water midway through our stay. Had to finish the trip at the Marriott in Boone. Due to snow needed a tow truck to pull us up the driveway. Would not recommend this house in winter months, but other seasons I am sure are beautiful. Location and neighborhood are beautiful, but very, very difficult in winter conditions.

Hi Janelle, thank you for the feedback, unfortunately a once in a generation storm hit the high country at the same time you stayed. It was a severe event bringing record breaking temps that severely hampered heating systems throughout the region. Sadly frozen pipes and well heads were the norm for that time up here. We thank you for your patience during that time and are glad that you were able to access as well as depart. Its our fondest hope that you can take another trip up and see all that the high country has to offer.

Weird smell after two days
Our stay was great until the second day this moldy smell came from downstairs. It was very breathtaking, we are concerned about it and would like to inform the homeowner of this. My husband is a general contractor who is certified in mold remediation, he wanted to express his concern. Some of our family experienced breathing issues, and cold-like symptoms from the mold, not good!!!!

Hi Jennifer. You did not need to go to reviews with this information. As emailed to you after your departure, we took your report seriously and sent a contractor immediately. We will never put a renter in a house where there are known conditions in which mold can grow. Thank you.
We stayed here for a week in the spring to visit Appalachian State and the Boone area. To anyone considering staying here my advice to to carefully review all the fees before you book. That being said - this is a beautiful cabin and it has everything you might need for a stay in the mountains. It’s fairly close to other cabins (so not at all secluded) and there isn’t a lot of open space outside. There were issues with the hot tub when we first arrived. The tub had not been cleaned prior to our arrival so the filters were clogged and the whole thing had to be drained and refilled. They charge a cleaning fee for the hot tub as part of the regular fees but it’s clear that it had not been cleaned after the last occupants. Nevertheless Carolina cabins was very responsive and took care of this. There were a few broken outdoor chairs and the master bed needed to be repaired and the master tub was dusty and dirty. Other than that we really had no complaints. Whomever decorated the home did a beautiful job. Boone and the surrounding are wonderful. You will enjoy your stay.

Very very upset, the lower room has dog piss stains and has a bad odor, also the neighbors are the owners friends and stairs at you the whole time with there windows up also come over knocking on the door telling me bout wild animals just being noisey, neighbor called owner saying dog got out they let my dog out also have pictures where they were feeding my dog, trash was all around the yard, then they called me a month later saying they were getting a estimate of damage my dog done, the fireplace wouldn't work, the back porch lights wouldn't work and shore couldn't sit out front because of being watched by the Neighbors very bad experience
The photos don't do this property justice. The house is a beautiful log house with three stories of bedrooms and bathrooms. The house is designed so you don't realize there are any other homes around. The house is located conveniently to Boone and the Banner/Elk area. When we communicated with the property managers they quickly and courteously responded.I strongly recommend this property for anyone visiting the area.
Secluded yet conveniently located and scenic. Beautiful, well-appointed, spacious cabin. No bear confrontations, just some wild turkeys!

Thank you so much for sharing. Knowing our guest had a great time and enjoyed the property is its own reward! Take care and we hope you will revisit sooner rather than later.
I stayed at the cabin for a week with family including a 6 year old. The cabin was big enough for us and the location was awesome. The views from the cabin were spectacular and to my surprise there were games for my kid. In overall it was an awesome experience. I would recommend it. We had a rainy day and there were things to do…we play pool, even thought it was rainy we still went into the jacuzzi. There was plenty of stuff to keep us busy. This cabin is one of the best places I stayed and they supply you with everything…love the place…will definitely return in the near future
