Updated short-term rental home with vintage charm in Gainesville has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths with wooden floors throughout most of the home with a fabulous sun porch built in 1930. This ideal Florida getaway is about a 10-minute walk to THE SWAMP, just off University Avenue. We only rent through VRBO and are the owners of the home.
Wake before your crew for a quiet morning sipping coffee or mediating in the sun porch as you look across to the neighborhood pond.
Located in a quaint neighborhood with students, professionals and longtime residents on a quiet dead end street less than a mile from the stadium. Close to the University of Florida, Publix, restaurants, Shands, and shopping. Located close to explore all of Gainesville and the numerous state parks and natural springs.
Whether you are visiting a kiddo at college or just looking the enjoy the excitement of a big game , the University of Florida is conveniently just 10 minutes away.

Cozy Place In A Great Location

This house and neighborhood was perfect for our long weekend stay. Very cozy and in a great location for the wedding we attended nearby at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Weekend relaxing stay

We stayed here while our teen daughters were in a softball tournament. It was the perfect home to come back to after long, hot days. It was quiet, clean, and very charming.

This house is adorable and the location was perfect. It was only 1.5 miles from our daughter’s dorm at UF. I wish we could’ve stayed longer. (Oh and I loved the mattresses - super comfortable.) I did have a question late the first night and did not expect an answer until the next morning. It was a welcome surprise when the hostess responded immediately.

We had an awesome weekend stay for the FSU/FL football game. The house was a perfect distance. Away from the noise, but only a 15 minute walk to the stadium.

Very nice location and the home is in the heart of UF I would definitely stay at the property again. Very responsive to requests and questions leading into the stay. 3 bedrooms which made it convenient for our group. The property is a charming cottage type style in a great location. Very Comfortable Stay!

Enjoyed our short stay at the house! It was clean, comfortable, and well-cared for. It was also in a quiet and convenient location and had all the amenities we needed. I would recommend. Only critique someone might have is that the home is an older home, but that didn’t bother us a bit. Another positive note, communication with the Owner was pleasant and timely.

Lovely older home in a charming neighborhood

This is an older property, but utterly charming and overlooking a pond with a great egret, and we even saw a baby alligator sharing the sun with three big turtles, all under majestic sprawling live oaks dripping with Spanish moss. The home is really beautifully equipped, with everything one could want for a stay of almost any length. The owner is exceptionally responsive and helpful. We highly recommend this old stone cottage!

The Gainesville Stonehouse Experience- Aug-2022

Nice quiet house with early to mid 1900's charm. Very clean and well furnished. Close to UF which was very convenient for us as we came to drop off my freshman son at school. Only suggestion would be access to a washer/dryer, but otherwise the property was great, suited other needs perfectly. Owner communicated well and access (entry/exit) was easy. Highly recommended, would stay again.

Stone Cottage

We rented this house when we came down to drop our daughter off for her freshman year at UF. Location is perfect. Located right next to campus but it was in a quiet neighborhood so you could get away from the craziness of welcome week! The house offered us the space and serenity we needed to transition her for move in. It was clean with so much charm and coziness. Becky was extremely responsive and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again when we visit our gator!
