Beautiful location and house. House was wonderfully decorated and the owner was always available if we had any questions or concerns. Would highly recommend!
Beautiful home in quiet location. The hosts were quick to respond to inquiries and went over and above their duties to help with a car issue. Loved our quick visit. Highly recommend this home.
Everything about the cabin was lovely. The property is surrounded in trees that attract all sorts of different birds throughout the day, and the outdoor furnishings make it super easy to sit outside and relax while watching the nature. Inside, the cabin is super cozy. There’s a large, open living room and kitchen area equipped with just about anything you may want, whether for cooking or general entertainment. The hosts provided a nice variety of snacks, coffee, tea, and other amenities. There are lots of windows throughout the entire property which give a great view of the nature outside. The rooms were also very nice with comfortable beds.
We stayed here during our quick trip to Yosemite. The place was very nice and well stocked. Great remote place to get away from the busy life and enjoy nature. Would stay again and recommend!
We were very lucky to find this gem and stay for 2 nights while visiting Yosemite National Park. The cabin is exceptionally clean, well stocked with everything we needed.
Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again if ever visiting Yosemite!
Had a great time! Cabin was great and had everything we needed. Lots of road construction on the roads leading to the cabin but that was the only problem. Loved sitting outside and two deer visited us in the morning.
While the surrounding area may not have cell reception (wifi is available) you won't even notice since you'll be too enamored with the surrounding natural beauty. If you decide to stay, do yourself a favor and look at the stars, they are breathtaking.
This quiet super clean property had everything you need for a home away from home experience. It was used as our base camp for 4 days of visiting Yosemite. The drive to Yosemite was about an hour to either gate. Early May was amazing for wild flowers along the drive. Our group were all seniors and after a day of hiking we wished the house had a comfy recliner. We would definitely stay again.
We loved our stay at Sugar Pine Cabin! The location was great, beautiful secluded spot amongst the trees - I enjoyed my coffee on the porch, watching a hummingbird go about its business! The hosts are right next door if you need them and are quick to respond if you do. Both the El Portal/Rock Arch and South gates to Yosemite NP are an hour away in different directions, which isn’t too far really. The cabin itself is absolutely wonderful! It has everything you could possibly need and has such a comfortable, homey feel. I am so glad I found this gem of a property!
We had a great stay with our friends. It’s a super clean property. It seems to be a new built house with all almost brand new equipment. Almost any appliances you can think of was included with lots of dishes. Bathrooms were very clean and tidy.
Very nice and quiet neighborhood and a cute deck outside.
Thanks Carmel for your hosting.
The property was exceptional! We used it as a place to rest and recharge halfway through a vacation, including doing laundry, etc. (BTW, if you use the washer/dryer, be sure to turn on the vent fan to the right of the units!). We also based out of the property to visit Yosemite for a couple days. It was a restful haven! The owners were helpful, going above and beyond to insure that we were aware of Yosemite's reservation requirements. They provided helpful information about Yosemite in the house for last minute planning. As they note, the wi-fi was a bit weak, but we were there to unplug anyway. The driveway hill is quite steep. Our heavily loaded Honda Odyssey struggled a bit with it at slow speed. But I absolutely look forward to using this property again sometime!
We have stayed at many VRBOs and this has to be one of our favorites! It is so clean and tastefully decorated. There is great attention to detail and many amenities to make sure you will have everything you need! The kitchen is very well-stocked. I would highly recommend staying here and if I am ever in the area again, I will make sure to stay here again. Thanks for sharing such a great place!
It was an absolute delight to stay here with my partner and sister. The property was meticulous and well appointed. We would definitely stay here again if returning to the area. We wished we could have stayed longer. Thankyou to the marvellous hosts!
The children had fun inside and outside. Enough space that they could play outside uninhibited, but not get lost. A short and beautiful drive to the national park.
This was an amazing place! So quiet…so beautiful! The house is just stunning. The house is clean, well appointed, very comfortable beds and the kitchen is well stocked.
I would recommend this place in a heartbeat!
It is a bit of a drive to Yosemite…but the views on the drive are amazing.
A wonderful place to rest, relax and rejuvenate!
Loved this house! Extremely clean and well maintained, inside and out! Carmen was so easy to work with and made sure the house had everything you could possible need. Would highly recommend for couples or for family with children.
We LOVED this home! It was perfect for ours needs! It was beautiful! The kitchen was well stocked and the outside space was very inviting! We would love to stay here again one day!

About the host
Hosted by Carmel Lozano
We are retired and have lived in Mariposa Pines for over twelve years and want to share this amazing area with people from all parts of the globe.
Why they chose this property
We are in the Sierra National Forest at an elevation of 4000 Ft. The nights can be chilly and the days warm and sunny during summer months. We do get some snowfall during the winter months, which is a lovely sight, and makes for fun fireplace gatherings.
What makes this property unique
Very quiet, private property and wonderful scenic views. And, at times, visits from little furry friends.
