This property was excellent. I arrived to a clean and comfortable atmosphere, had excellent communication with the property manager, and its location around downtown and the raising canes center was oerfect for my needs.
Good communication from the owner. Clean and comfortable. Lots of close places to walk for food and entertainment.

Combination with owner was awful. Check in was awful. Check in and check out instructions were never sent. Another couple staying had problems also. Once your inside this place is very nice. If your event is downtown this is the place to stay.
Rented this property for an employee to stay for a couple of weeks while working in Baton Rouge. He found it to be clean and comfortable. Convenient location. Would definitely rent this place again.
Like the location but the place is on its last leg. I think the property manager is the owner and him and his wife single handedly try to maintain this extremely old and tired property without success. There were extenuating circumstances with them that caused him to forget we were coming in. After I finally was able to get in touch with him, there was no apartment clean for us to check into, so he showed up himself and 'cleaned' an 'upgraded' one, that we got into a couple of hours after we were supposed to be able to check in. I asked for some sort of money off and his response was "I did upgrade you" All he did was change bedding, swap out towels and cleaned up obvious table top messes. No clean toilets, counter tops, stove, floors, etc. I would not even put anything on the floors or any surfaces that we did not disinfect first. With all of the updates coming to the venues and lodging in the area, I'm thinking they are hoping this place will be bought and demolished.

lol this guy is ridiculous. We are the most visited short term rental complex with 550 reservations in the last year. We were running a little behind but got this guy in with only a 49 minute delay. They were able to put things in the unit while being cleaned. This unit is a “Guest Favirute” in the other big site and we’re Super Hosts. Before I could finish the unit he’s asking me how much money I would give him for the 30 minute delay. They sat in the courtyard drinking while the place got ready. After completion I walked in with them to have them check the place and let me know it’s great for them. They inspected and said all was good. Just talking to this guy it was obvious he was cheap looking for freebies. Additionally I believe he has an over inflated view of himself based on conversations and his attitude. This is the kind of guest who wants to drive a Bentley but pay for a civic. Good luck to the next host.
BEWARE!!! Do NOT book this property!! Sketchy location, unsafe, place was filthy & owner unresponsive and not helpful at all. When we arrived to check in we were able to open the lockbox on the property but there was no key inside as instructed. I tried to call the host but there was no answer so I left a message & texted without a response. About 20 minutes later, a woman showed up to let us in. At the same time a man walked up to the door of the property and came inside. He said he met a woman at the nearby casino who said he could stay there (he looked homeless - like he was squatting there). The woman who let us into the apartment was very surprised that he was there and how filthy the apartment was. The man said he needed to get his things - 15 minutes later he left with 2 trash bags filled. As shown in the pictures the house was disgusting. More importantly, we feared for our safety as we figured out that the homeless looking man who was squatting there was the one that had the missing key, allowing him to be able to access the property again while we were there if he wanted. Consequently we left to find another place to stay where we would feel safe & requested a refund for the reservation. It's been 2 weeks & I'm still fighting with VRBO for my refund. The owner never even attempted to contact me regarding the issues we had. We also had issues with him not sending the access instructions prior to our arrival & had to reach out multiple times for that.

This is a horrible situation. The entire building was occupied for this busy weekend and it appears the cleaning crew completely missed this unit. It doesn't happen often but with the high turnover of the units and being fully booked it did happen this time. We've addressed the situation and believe we've taken control of things like this so they don't happen again.
Great location. Close to good restaurants and sights. We were in Baton Rouge to attend a graduation, and it was close to the LSU campus. As others have mentioned, if firm mattresses are a problem for you, this is not your place. We did see a couple of roaches, but there were also roach baits present. Overall, a comfortable place to stay. If it were my place, I would give at least, the woodwork a fresh coat of paint. After spending 5 nights there, it started to feel dingy..

Needs some work…
This property has potential but is lacking in several areas. It has a great location and nice setup, but this location has roaches, the beds are uncomfortable, and management is a bit disorganized. But the owner Paul was very responsive to our repeated phone calls for help. The 3 issues I listed with this property can be easily corrected. Once those issues are resolved, this will be a nice place to stay.

Thank you Ruth for your review. We can only get better with good information. Beds are tough because some like hard mattresses but others like soft. We did have a storm and the exterminating company said the Baton Rouge Sewer lines that flow to the river may have pushed some bugs through the lines. We pay for the absolute best pest control because we are so close to the river and have to stay on top of things. Come back and see the great changes we make as a result of your honest feedback.
We stayed here to visit the university and become more familiar with the area. It was an easy drive, less than 10 mins away. Clean and cozy. Everything we needed for a few nights stay. We were comfortable. Host was very kind and had great communication.

About the host
Hosted by Paul Evans
My Louisiana roots run deep from the founding of the state. Yes, I've got the Cajun blood running through my veins. I enjoy travel, exploring new places, good music and especially good food. I'm always open to new experiences. Setting up my place to share with Airbnb guest was a no-brainer. The downtown Baton Rouge scene has changed a lot over the years and has become the new HOTSPOT again. I can direct you to all the local attractions and the best restaurants around for your taste pallet. I set my first unit up August 2016 and it became so popular I set up a second, a third, until now I hav 5 units in the same building all unique. The units were set up like I would want in a stay to make it a little more comfortable and special.. I provide super comfortable beds with great linens and pillows as well as oversized luxury collection towels. I installed spa like shower head and hand held sprayer. I found a special brand of soaps, shampoos and conditioner, Matrix, exclusive for Wyndham collection for my guests to use. I enjoy my hometown teams, LSU and the New Orleans Saints, but won't hold anything against you for supporting your favorite teams. My spot is minutes up the road from LSU. I'm in the real estate and mortgage businesses so I'm pretty much available all the time. If I'm tied up I certainly get back with you asap. I try to give guests space unless you need something and I'm there. So with all that said you can book my place with confidence you'll get the most out of your visit to Baton Rouge. Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful visit. Paul Evans Share your page
Why they chose this property
Since opening our first unit 2 years ago guests have gone bonkers over them. They rave about 24 hour check in, great communication, wonderful amenities, stylish space, comfort, location and value. Now 8 units in two years, over 300 fantastic reviews, you can review the uniquely decorated, Louisiana themed spaces with original art and repurposed furnishings.
What makes this property unique
We are located in Historic Beauregard Town literally blocks from all the downtown spots of interest. One block to the Raising Cane's River Center, USS Kidd Battleship and Museum, Old State Capital among others. Three blocks to third street with all of it's restaurants, pubs and other night life. LSU and Tiger Stadium is a 5-10 minute drive. If you're in for an LSU game the shuttle picks up and drops off only two blocks away. How convenient is that?!? Additionally, the interstate is 10 blocks away. Getting around the city couldn't be any faster or easier.
The building was built mid-century which gives it some unique qualities that don't exist in today"s newer places, such as the exposed brick walls in the rooms. Classic New Orleans.
As mentioned the units decorated with a Louisiana theme. We openly source local art and furnishing and repurpose and reuse items when possible. That's what gives each unit is uniqueness.
The beds are plush and comfortable with new inens and pillows for a peaceful nights sleep.
The kitchen is complete with built in microwave, smooth top stove and all the necessary utensils for those who like to cook. We provide a coffee maker and Louisiana's very own Community Coffee. It's a true local dark roast that will wake you up.
It's all about the extras and we've included some things we would want like the anti-microbial Hotel/Spa dual shower head and hand held with multiple jet options. We've included Towels from the luxury collection, nice and thick. And to top things off we include Matrix, exclusive for Wyndham, soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Pictures of all included.
There is a common courtyard in the middle of the complex to relax as well.
To top everything off we provide FREE, RESERVED parking which for downtown is a luxury.
So as we say in Louisiana, "Laissez le bon ton roulet!"
