The outer edge of Las Catalinas
Our family has visited Las Catalinas several times & Costa Rica for over a decade.
The management company was beyond excellent & we appreciated all of them tremendously. Responsive, informative and highly professional. A+ rating from our group!
The home & guest home were both immaculate. The house mom was simply wonderful & we appreciated her care tremendously.
This home, if you are familiar with Las Catalinas, is closer to Sentido Norte than the shops, restaurants of Las Catalinas. There are 2 ways to get to the beach- one is a path often quite steep through the trees, along the beach. It is beautiful, but not "easy" if you were to have small children or those with issues walking, such as an elderly guest.
The other way to get to the beach, shops, restaurants is along the street and down the stairs. This was our preferred method.
We greatly appreciated the use of the garage & the ease of access to our car instead of the valet.
The home could use better furniture. The living room features a small sofa and chairs, not conducive for a group relaxing inside in the evening. The furniture is oriented to the television and not the view.
The best outdoor space is the patio area off of the master bedroom. Views, comfort & the sounds of the ocean.
The outdoor pool is beautiful, tranquil.
We never used the pool, however. The pool chairs are cheap plastic- not what a $24k week rental should feel like. The outdoor patio is cluttered, odd and not a space that is inviting as compared to other homes we have rented. It has a sofa, chairs, a long table and chairs- a lot for a small space.
The main house needs a full length mirror and a mirror in the powder room that isn't all distressed. 5 ladies in our group and yes, we care to see what we look like in our bikinis, outfits. The only full length mirror is in the guest house.
We do not cook on vacation & if we did, this home was well appointed for preparing meals in house. There was a large grill outside, all necessary items in the kitchen.
Breakfast at Sentido is a must. Pots & Bowls for lunch or breakfast is a perfect spot in the community. By far the largest menu & best selections.
Las Catalinas is a lovely place to relax, mountain bike, hit the beach & relax. Highly recommend chartering a private sailboat and seeing the area from the water & getting a car to go surfing.
