*UNIT 11 INCLUDES COMPLEMENTARY BEACH SERVICE (2 CHAIRS, 1 UMBRELLA) Attractively decorated recently upgraded, this unit 11 is located in the Penthouse building. This is a 1 bedroom 1 bath ground floor unit. No stairs to go up or down.. just a short walk out to your personal patio, the pool and the beach! Centrally located to the pool, game room, coin laundry, and BBQ grills. It has a King bed and queen sleeper sofa. The fully stocked kitchen has everything you need to stay for a week or stay for a month: full size stove and oven, microwave, full size dishwasher, and full size refrigerator with ice maker. Plus, all the essentials: coffee maker, blender, toaster, cookware, dishes, glasses, and full dinner settings for four. Unit will sleep 4 people. Non-smoking

Beach Service – If you didn’t pre-reserve beach chairs, just stop by the beach hut or call the Excel team at In addition to chairs and umbrellas, Excel offers kayaks and paddle boards for rent, as well as an assortment of snacks and drinks.
Tennis, Basketball, Pickleball, and Shuffleboard – Forget your gear? No worries, you can check out rackets, balls, and more at the front desk at no charge!
Grilling Out – In the busy months of spring and summer, many families opt to grill out rather than go out. We have eight charcoal grills available. There are several seafood markets nearby, including Blalock’s which is just a block to the west (p.s., their tuna dip is a must try!).
Fitness Center – Did you know we have a fitness center in the Penthouse building? Just stop by the front desk to borrow the key.
Family Activities – There’s always something fun on the itinerary at Silver Dunes:
• Annual Easter Egg Hunt in the Courtyard – Easter Sunday, 9 am in the courtyard
• Scavenger Hunts – Throughout the Spring – for children of all ages! Just stop by the office to pick up your scavenger hunt necessities. Once you’ve collected everything, stop back by the office to pick a surprise from the Silver Dunes treasure chest!
• Movies in the Courtyard – Bring a picnic blanket, your beach chairs, and join us on Mondays at dusk throughout June and July. We show a different family-friendly movie each week.
• S’mores Nights with Live Music at the Pool –Wednesday nights are awesome at Silver Dunes! Throughout June and July, the firepits will be out, s’mores roasting, and tunes playing!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our vacation. We had 7 perfect days and countless great memories were made. We also meet a lot of regulars who rent the property on the same week every year and we are happy to say that we will be coming back! We upgraded to a 2 bedroom in building A for proximity to the beach and to our friends and family. The only complaint I could possibly have is the sprinkler timing... they came in at 8 am and soaked everything I had drying outside from the previous beach day. We stayed in unit 11 and the lack of a walk way to our back door caused pine straw to be tracked and stuck to everything. Our patio was never cleaned because some how something go got knocked over from an oversized chair and it was gross wet cigarette butts which smelled pretty bad because we are non smokers. Our towel rack was broken which is a big part to why our towels were getting wet from the sprinklers. The timing was just bad for morning walkers and early starters. So at the end of the week not a big deal and I’m just giving constructive Feed back because as a business owner I understand the value and always strive to be better and learn from as much as possible.

Unit 11 is small but perfect for either two people or two adults and two kids. Good confirmation to unit and short walk to the beach. Very close to multiple restaurants whether sit down or fast food. Excellent pizza at Merlin’s. Security in place and visible even though it was a gated area. Already planning to go back next year.

The large grass area is perfect for late afternoon baseball. The beach crew set up our beach chairs in a semicircle for easy visiting. The pool was perfect for relaxing after the beach. We will be back next year.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have been going to Silver Dunes since 1979. First with my children and now with my grandchildren. With the exception of a couple of years, we have been staying in Unit 11 for roughly 20 years while our grandchildren and their parents occupy another unit. We have always had a good experience with Unit 11, but this year the oven temperature knob was non-existent, and we do a lot of cooking while on vacation. We reported it, but it was never fixed during our stay.

It was a perfect size and price for us and we liked the location too, except that there were renovations going on nextdoor for about an hour in the early morning on some days we were there. Everything was great and the condo was very clean and well-stocked. The blender seemed to have some issues though. All in all, we loved it and will be back again!

The location of the property is in perfect proximity to all of Destin’s restaurants, shopping and excursions in either direction. Loved the fact that it’s a gated community. The condo itself also has a digital entryway and was immaculate upon arrival. Very tastefully decorated, plenty of towels for the week, and all the kitchen items to prepare meals if you desire. Very comfy bed and more than enough closet space. Great little patio outside as well. The beach is perfect! Spent our days on the soft white sand and the warm water of the gulf. Then the afternoons at the pool which was very clean and we thought the perfect temperature. More than enough places to sit/lay and relax, read and enjoy a cocktail before heading out for dinner. The staff is 5 star all the way. If you need our have questions about anything, they are more than happy to help you. We already made our reservations for next year we loved it so much, can’t wait to go back.

It’s a one bedroom, one bath with new living room furniture and a new mattress in the bedroom. The couch folds out into a comfy bed which was perfect for our two grandchildren. We loved the proximity to the pool, and the short walk (less that 75 yards) was easy. The private beach was very nice, and was never crowded. There is a volleyball court and 2 sets of cornhole boards on the beach for guest use. The management staff was friendly and very helpful. The condo is clean and in good repair. We will definitely be back!

Had I known that I would have booked a different condo. It was listed as Queen size. It is definitely outdated, and our backs felt it. Room was very clean and in a great location for our little!Other than that-we had an amazing trip and will definitely be back!!! Thank you SD :)

This unit doesn't really provide an ocean view so seems should be more affordably priced.

It's always a fun experience for our family. We LOVE the new party nights at the pool. The s'mores were great! The front desk lady was very rude about the fireworks laws in Florida (that we were unaware of). It did not start our experience well. We did not know that the policy changed for cleaning our room towels. We did not like this change as it cost extra to clean the towels because our room did not come with a washer/dryer. We also had strange caterpillar looking insects in the bedroom (I'm not sure if these usually live in Florida but I've never seen them before).Overall we had a pleasant experience but we may look around for a new location to stay because of these unfortunate changes.

Reviewer Comments: The room was not ready when I got there didn’t get in until 5 o’clock and icemaker never work the whole time I was there the room was a little small and a little outdated to end it was a little expensive also The unit I stayed in number 11 the guy emptying the Dumpster woke me up every morning at about a quarter till five or quarter till six it was so loud it sound like it was coming through my room never got rest or sleep in it scared the **** out of me every morning 😐😐😐😐😐

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We would stay at Silver Dunes again but not in unit 11. It had very outdated furniture, the vertical blinds were missing slats, nails on walls with nothing hanging from them, the cheapest and fewest pieces of outdoor furniture and no stepping stones going up to "patio" like all the other condos. The bathroom looked fairly updated. Kitchen definitely needs updating.
