Sunshine Grove preserves the vintage charm of its 1920's roots, blended with modern amenities such as a freshly remodeled kitchen with stainless steel appliances, new touches in the bathrooms, and cozy comforts throughout. Beautifully refinished wood floors, an open beam ceiling in the living room and multi-paned windows add to the charm. French doors open to a private dining patio with gas BBQ and deck with a hot tub. Just off the living room, the master suite includes a full bathroom with shower and tub and double vanity. In the hallway that leads to the 2nd full bathroom and laundry, there are custom-built stairs to the 2nd bedroom. French doors at the hallway give the lofted bedroom full privacy.

You'll love cooking - inside or out - at Sunshine Grove and basking in your private retreat! Pack a picnic and walk to the Guernewood Park neighborhood beach on the Russian River or explore acclaimed wineries just minutes away. When you return, relax in the hot tub, fire up the BBQ, or check out fabulous restaurants in West Sonoma County. Families with kids and dogs will appreciate the fully fenced yard and proximity to playgrounds, activities and hiking trails.

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours:
The maximum occupancy at Sunshine Grove is 6 people. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.

Parking:
There is parking for 2 to 3 cars in the driveway in front of the house. The garage is not available for parking. Street parking is scarce. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Bed Sizes:
First bedroom: Queen bed; Second bedroom: Queen bed; Living Room: Queen sleeper sofa.

Heat Source:
This house uses a combination of gas & electric heaters including a gas woodstove-style fireplace insert in the living room.

A/C: The house does not have air conditioning. Being near the coast, the night time temps drop and just opening some windows is usually enough to cool the house.

Stairs: There are two sets of stairs at the house: one with several landings from the parking area to the front door and one interior set of stairs to the 2nd bedroom. These stairs are nearly ladder-like, very sturdy and have non-slip material on them for your safety. We've included photos and hope you will contact us with any questions or concerns about the stairs.

Fencing: The yard is fully fenced.

Proximity to Wineries: Several tasting rooms in downtown Guerneville are approx. 1.5 miles walk or drive.

Nearest River Beach: The nearest river access is a 1 mile walk or drive.

Nearest Ocean Beach: The coastal beaches in Jenner are approx. 13 miles.

Great little Canon

I highly recommend the cabin. Nicely updated while still has a great cabin feel. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. Close to town and nice hikes.

Charming Cabin Stay

Nice small historic cabin with some upgraded modern conveniences and a short drive to downtown Guerneville. Property did not have air conditioning and got very hot during the day but cooled down quickly at night with the use of fans. Great outdoor patio space with a comfortable hot tub.

Great Russian River Getaway

Cute and comfortable cabin in the woods. The community was quiet and welcoming. The house had a lovely gas fireplace, hot-tub and comfortable beds. It was clean and well appointed. We did not use the upstairs which had steep steps as others have mentioned. But the rest of the cabin was very nice.

Good times

Great location, hot tub was awesome!! Fan in the bedroom was broken, needed a masters in engineering to figure out the fan in the living room. Great little yard to chill and have a beer in. Bed was way too soft for me but I usually expect that because I use an extra firm bed because of my back. Overall pretty great stay!!

Work and Play at the River

This is an older property that has been upgraded with all the expected niceties. Not luxurious so guests need to be okay with a bit of sagging in the furniture. Stairs to second bedroom are narrow and second bathroom is main floor, not near this bedroom. Hot tub was well maintained. We would stay here again. Quiet area with no road noise from River Rd

Home away from home

Sunshine grove is tucked within the huge redwoods. Quaint lovely neighborhood, so quiet and peaceful. House was super clean when we arrived. Our granddaughter claimed the loft immediately- ideal room for a tween. Took a while to figure out how to get the hot tub warmer- but other than that, the temperature was perfect. We walked our poochie everyday, the neighbors were welcoming and friendly. Narrow road, just be cautious as vehicles snuggly pass-by pedestrians and their k9s at a speed of 10-15 miles per hour. Safeway and other stores- conveniently located a 5 min drive away. We are coming back for sure. Thanks for the excellent communication VRBO.

Guerneville Getaway

Funky quiet friendly neighborhood on windy narrow road. Artsy cute cottages. Attractive accomodations with small private yard. Great for keeping dogs secure, but no grass or area for them to play due to elevation and rocks. Nice kitchen. Be aware that low is medium high on most gas stoves. Bring your own food storage containers and wrap/foil. They did offer to resolve, but stay too short to bother. Slat was missing on bathroom blinds. Wonderful dinner at Main Street Bistro. Overall, very comfortable accomodations.

Excellent vacation spot

We had an excellent stay. The place was quiet and clean. It wasn't like staying in a hotel where there isn't much privacy. We definitely want to stay at the same place again next time. There was only one very small issue while we were there. We started cooking on the grill and the gas ran out. There was a second tank there but the blue tag showed it was new but it was empty because the valve was turn open. We just went and got another tank ourselves at the gas station near Safeway because we had already started cooking. This really wasn't a big deal as we all had a good time and hope we are allowed back again. Thank you, Ellen.

Cozy retreat

Well appointed without being overly designed to the point of tchotchkes crowding your every move. Home is cozy yet roomy enough for a decent dinner party. Gas fireplace was wonderful and worked well for heating up the entire place. We had a wonderful time staying here. Bring ice! 2 reasons we may not be back: Stairs to loft are slightly difficult if you’re pushing a certain age. Hot tub is modest in size.

We had a lovely stay at the sunshine Grove cottage. The accommodations were lovely and the outdoor area was amazing. We enjoyed grilling and dining outdoors as well as the hot tub. We would recommend a stay at this location.
