Mountain Farmhouse is located on a gated private 250 acre family estate that is surrounded by Pisgah National Forest. If privacy, convenience, a little slice of heaven is what you are looking for you’ve found it! The home is surrounded by mountains, ponds, pastures & private hiking trails. There is an abundance of wildlife to watch, along with the beauty of horses grazing. You can enjoy one of the covered porches while you rock, swing on the porch swing, lounge on the outdoor sofa, or enjoy an evening meal on the outdoor tables. The outdoor fireplace is a special treat too! Also convenient to Brevard, Asheville, DuPont, Hendersonville, Biltmore, shopping, & restaurants.
The amenities of the home will keep you more than comfortable too! The spacious home is like 2 homes in one, with even 2 kitchens. The main floor is ground level with no stairs to enter the home. On this main floor is a 1/2 bath, master suite w private en suite w tub & walk in shower, large kitchen, living room with real wood burning fireplace, & even a custom made farm table from a maple tree on the property. Also, plenty of pantry storage for your groceries.
The 2nd story hosts a large den with a ping pong table. The second story covered sleeping deck has a twin sized bed swing, a perfect hide out for napping, with an outdoor fan & a view of the pasture. There are large vaulted ceilings in this room & also a full size kitchen. There are 3 spacious bedrooms & 2 full baths on this floor. The den has a tv & beautiful views you can enjoy.

We are unable to accommodate any type of snow plow to the roads or driveway. This means that if there is an inclement storm in our area that could effect your reservation, it could be altered or refunded. Safety is the top priority during winter reservation months.

When the homeowners occupy the home they do have indoor pets staying with them.

Hidden Gem

It is a gem of a find... tucked in the middle of Pisgah where Google Maps gets you the wrong destination (follow directions from the owner or better yet; get directions or trust your instincts)... Otherwise a peaceful quiet place to relax and unwind... will definitely stay again.

Perfect get-away

This is our second time to stay in the Pisgah Forest home. It is absolutely spectacular! The home is extremely spacious and beautiful and the property is gorgeous. Alisha is a wonderful host and always easy to communicate with. Our family loves the opportunity to stay in this home and will definitely be back. The chickens and horses are an added bonus:). Thank you!

Peaceful

A long weekend trip for my husband and me to visit the Apple Festival in Hendersonville. August 30 -September 1. Thank goodness we had the Mountain Farmhouse because the festival was so crowded and hot that we left and came back to the house. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The view is beautiful. The house was well furnished, clean and comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer! We plan to return as soon as we can get away again.

Adorable farm house. Great kitchen and rocking chairs on porch to watch the horses was top notch.

This farmhouse was great for our group of nine mixture of adults and teenagers the rocking chairs on the porch were great for watching the horses in the pasture super close to Asheville airport less than 20 minutes and right down the street from Pisgah Forest post was super friendly and helpful would definitely stay here again

Expectations Exceeded

This property was amazing. The VRBO photos do not do it justice. The home is well appointed, clean and perfect for families. My girls loved the horses, chickens and wild rabbits. Alisha was helpful in recommending local activities and restaurants. Blue Smoke BBQ was some of the best we’ve had. Rocky’s Soda Shop was a great experience also. This home is close to numerous waterfalls and Sliding Rock. The front porch views were perfect.

Wonderful family vacation

What a treasure! We loved everything about the Mountain Farmhouse! It was very comfortable for our family; we had a group of 11 including children and grandparents and everyone had a great time. It was well marked driving in (along with the emailed directions) and Alicia was so prompt and helpful with answering any questions. We hope to stay here again soon. What a beautiful and cozy home.

The perfect weekend getaway, especially for animal lovers

This was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing getaways we’ve had in a long time. Two families with children between 3.5-9 years old came for a long weekend. The adults and children were really excited to be able to be so hands on with the horses, chickens, and ducks. The house was incredibly well stocked and the room layout was perfect for two families. We also really enjoyed all of the fresh eggs! The kids spent most of their time in the pasture loving on the horses and feeding blueberries to the chickens. Communication with the owner was always prompt and informative. We are already looking forward to coming back for another visit.

Perfect mountain house!

We stayed for a long weekend with total of 3 families, kids aged 9-3. It was perfect! The house was beautiful and clean, with enough room for everyone. The view from the porch was perfect... and the horses, chickens, ducks were a huge hit for the kiddos. Close to Asheville, but also Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls, Hooker Falls/Triple Falls, and Brevard. Highly recommend.

Great property

Property is great, tons of space to spread out and explore. Great location close to hiking and Brevard also just 20 minutes to airport. Only thing you should be aware of is that you need to bring own bath/shower soaps and kitchen is short on some typical supplies. For this type of rate that was only disappointment. Other than that great property and I would stay again just need to spend about $50 at store to stock up.

Beautiful Farmhouse/Perfect Stay

What a wonderful stay for all! We had two families (4 adults and 5 kids) and were very comfortable and happy! Our kids loved the trails around the property, seeing the horses in their pasture, and running around the yard after day hikes in nearby Pisgah. The adults loved having coffee on the front porch every morning with the gorgeous views. Brevard is nearby and lots to do in the area. Alisha is super attentive and replies to emails immediately. We hope to return to the farmhouse again soon! Thank you for a fantastic vacation.

Large, modern house on beautiful piece of property

We stayed in the house for an event at Sierra Nevada, which is only about 9-10 miles north of the location. We had 4 adult couples, and this house was perfect for a Friday-Saturday getaway. The house sits on a large piece of land that backs up to Pisgah National Forest. The property is protected by a gate that requires a passcode. Views from the large windows all across the front of the house are spectacular. The owners keep a couple of friendly horses in the pasture right in front of the house. We spotted a few deer out in the pasture on Saturday morning as well. The kitchen is enormous, and the house includes an inside/outside wood burning fireplace on the first floor. There are some hiking trails on the property as well that connect up with the large network of other PNF trails that leave from the Turkey Pen Gap trailhead. That trailhead is a very short drive from the house, only about 2-3 miles. Upstairs of the house included another kitchen, a great ping pong table, three other bedrooms and two bathrooms. If you have a larger group attending an event at Sierra Nevada or just want to take advantage of a perfectly located house close to PNF, I would highly recommend this place.

Beautiful Mountain setting!

We loved this property for our large group! The house was beautiful and the layout was perfect for all! The extra living space upstairs was perfect for the children to play in their own space. The location was spectacular! The views over the field of horses and into the mountains were a pleasure to see everyday. We hiked the property, the men biked from the property up to the Turkey Pen trailhead, and into Pisgah Forest. We were also a short 20min drive to DuPont for more mountain biking. Alisha’s home was well equipped for us to cook all of our meals. And, Alisha was very easy and delightful to communicate with. We hope to return to this awesome place!
