Kentucky Straight Wilderness Cabin (KSW) is a modern, roomy 2200 sq ft chalet on Deer Water Lake in the Cliffview Resort area of Red River Gorge, Kentucky. Conveniently located, just minutes from Natural Bridge State Park, RRG Zipline, Gorge Underground, and some of the best hiking trails and rock-climbing routes in the region.

This stunning 3-story A-frame has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 14. Included are 2 primary bedrooms (one on the first floor and one in the walkout lower level) each with a king-size bed and en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Upstairs you will find two more bedrooms that together contain 3 queen-size beds and 2 full-size beds (one lofted) plus a 3rd full bathroom with a walk-in shower. Two half-baths are also included on the first floor and walkout level making this well-maintained cabin the perfect accommodation for hosting wedding parties, family reunions, or week-end getaways with friends.

If your group values comfort and convenience, you cannot do better than KSW Cabin!

Indoor amenities include a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops, refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, crockpot, blender and all cooking utensils. To add to your convenience, this modern cabin also has powerful high-speed internet, a USB charging station, two ROKU televisions with live streaming channels (YouTubeTV), a stone gas fireplace, a game room with an air hockey table, and a laundry room with a washer & dryer.

Outdoor amenities include a large open-air deck perfect for outdoor dining, a metal-roofed wrap-around porch, gas grill, 6-person hot tub, and a large fire pit. Cornhole boards/bags are also available for your use.

The 5-acre Deer Water Lake sits 50 yards down the hill from the cabin and is walkable by private trail (somewhat steep) or easily drivable. There guests can swim, fish, float or just relax at water’s edge from our spacious private dock. 2 kayaks and paddles are provided, or bring your own canoe, kayak or paddleboard for non-motorized boating. Life vests are not provided so please bring your own.

Unlike many cabins in Red River Gorge, KSW cabin is easily accessed via flat paved roads and has a spacious parking area (enough for 9 vehicles). An AWD vehicle is not necessary to access KSW cabin, making it the perfect choice for any season.

SMOKING is not permitted inside Kentucky Straight Wilderness Cabin but is allowed outdoors on the porches and decks.

NO PETS of any type are allowed inside Kentucky Straight Wilderness cabin. Violation of the no pets policy is grounds for immediate eviction.

NOTE: Bed linens, bathmats, hand towels, and kitchen towels are provided. One starter set of bath towels and washcloths is provided for each guest. We recommend that Guests bring their own extra washcloths, bath towels, and beach towels since we have no way of providing extra towels during your stay.

Note: Very secure location. Deer Water Lake where KSW cabin is located is a gated community. Additionally, for your safety, KSW cabin utilizes security cameras covering the exterior entrances of the cabin and the parking area.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Bag all trash (including bathrooms) and place garbage bags in the large trash cans located in the trash shed to the right when you exit the cabin, across from the chained off driveway.
Only remove flat sheet, fitted sheet, and pillowcases from any bed that was used and leave them in a pile in the bedroom. DO NOT REMOVE any mattress/pillow protectors. Leave any blankets on the beds.
Set both thermostats to 55 heat in winter and 80 cool in summer. Secure all windows that you have opened. Ensure that both doors on the downstairs patio and the door on the 1st floor deck are locked.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Firearms of any kind are prohibited inside Kentucky Straight Wilderness cabin. If you bring a firearm please keep it locked inside your vehicle.
All bed linens are provided along with dish towels, bathroom hand towels, bathmats and one starter set of bath towels and washcloths for each guest.
No pets of any type are allowed at Kentucky Straight Wilderness cabin. Violation of the no pets policy is grounds for immediate eviction.

We had a great time at the cabin. The lake and hot tub were great. The kids swam or fished every day. So many things to do in the area. Great restaurants, great hikes and climbing. We would love to come back.

We stayed at this beautiful cabin with a large group, and it worked perfectly for us. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax, and the layout made it easy to enjoy time together without feeling crowded. The location was great—peaceful, scenic, and close enough to everything we needed.The cabin was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with inviting common areas and a wonderful outdoor setting. We especially enjoyed spending time on the deck and taking in the quiet surroundings.The only challenge was the walk down to the dock. It was a bit tougher and steeper than we expected, but once you’re down there, the lake access is fantastic.Overall, we had an amazing stay and would absolutely come back.

Nice cabin- easy to get to and get around to all highlights. Lake was nice to fish and kayak. Had everything we needed, but as they mention, bring extra towels or just wash yours. Plenty of sleeping room and seating on deck! Owners were super responsive and helpful! Definitely a great stay and will be back!
Kayaks are great but not the easiest to get into and out of! They do have a kayak ramp tho to help!

Very beautiful and well thought out. I had a few questions before and during our stay and host was very responsive and knowledgeable. The house itself is very well accommodating and one can see how much thought was put into the fine details of accommodating guests. We loved going to the pond and utilizing the available kayaks along with the relaxing views off of the back deck. Very well done!

This place was PERFECT for our 3 families. Everyone had a bed and there are plenty of bathrooms! The kitchen and house is the most stocked of any rental we’ve ever been to. They have everything you can think of. The hot tub decks are perfect for outdoor hanging. The pond was our favorite part! We fished, swam and kayaked multiple times over the weekend! 10/10 and we will def rent this place again

The cabin was wonderful - had everything we could need for a weekend stay. It was clean, comfortable, and the views were spectacular. The host was responsive when we had a couple of questions about the cabin and let us check in a little early which was very kind of them to do. We would absolutely stay again in the future!
