Come to Persimmon Road and enjoy our charming lakefront cabin. The yard is full of wildflowers, hummingbirds, lightning bugs and the sky is full of stars. You might even see some shooting stars or an owl! The Lake House has plenty of outdoor living space with its screened porch and deck. There's also a big yard for the kids, both young and old, to play. Peace and tranquility will fill your days and nights. The Lake House was one of three built by TVA for Norris Dam engineers to live in. Original details such as hardwood floors, horizontal interior wood paneling are still present. The cabin is only available for rent April - October and many of those weeks are reserved for family. Our family has owned this property since the 1950s and we are excited to share our special place. Please note, as the Lake House does not have a washer/dryer, we ask guests to bring their own sheets and towels. Beds will be made when you arrive to ensure cleanliness. Please remake beds with our sheets when you depart.

This is a great get away for couples or a small family. It's really beautiful and really let's you enjoy nature. The lake is very clean though be careful of rocky areas in the water with little ones. The house itself feels historic and like you're stepping back in time away from modern distractions to just focus on relaxation, family, and making memories.
This was the perfect house and setting for our long weekend at the lake. We love the preserved vintage charm of the historic home and the view of the water. We were able to sit on the deck and watch hummingbirds, butterflies, and deer come and go! There is a short walk to the waterfront, where there's plenty of space to stash kayaks, SUPs or other gear. The hosts were very helpful, and we will definitely be visiting again!
First, let me say that everyone in your group had a great time and unanimously said they would return to this property.
Let me say, if you're looking for an ultra modern place with every convenience, this isn't there place for you.
However, if you're looking for a rustic getaway, or to unplug with your family, this place is perfect.
It was a family trip that we needed. We had not had a vacation in years. We wanted to just get away to a place we had never been. The cabin was nice. We swam and fished daily. Smokey mountains was 1 hr away. Norris dam was 30 minutes away. We visited both. There was not a TV so it made us enjoy spending time together not using technology. Not having a TV was a blessing.
