Spectacular Location, riverfront, in the middle of one of the most beautiful stretches of white water in California - small quiet beaches along river. Very close to Pinecrest and Dodge Ridge. Strawberry with the South Fork of the Stanislaus River running through it and its large meadow is a truly idyllic gem. Overlook is very private with river in front and forest on two sides. It is well appointed and was totally remodeled in 2004. All the creature comforts yet cabin living. With Overlook you get it all: natural beauty, whitewater, privacy, comfort, any season of the year.

The cabin was very clean and perfect for our group. The kids loved the downstairs room with the ping pong table, while the adults enjoyed hanging out on the upstairs deck. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, and the beds were comfortable. The view from the deck was beautiful, and hearing the river below made the stay even more relaxing. There was plenty of parking, and the cabin had a cozy feel that made us feel right at home. Dennis was quick to respond whenever we had a question, and the check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we would definitely come back!

Very nice spot. Comfortable rooms, well stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture. The kitchen was a little dark, and could use better lighting. Nice place to use as basecamp for exploring HiWay 108 corridor.

White Christmas

From the moment we opened the front door, we were amazed at the view. The snow on the trees and running water of the river below made it picture perfect! The common area was cozy, and the home was large enough for us to also spread out. The game room was a lot of fun! We enjoyed spirited poker games, ping pong and pool! We will definitely be back! Big and beautiful

We love this house and its location near Pinecrest lake. It’s large living and kitchen area are very nice. Well kept up and nicely situated among sugar pine and cedar trees overlooking the river.

Another great ski week!

Wonderful Cabin

We had a wonderful first stay at the Overlook Cabin. The house was very clean and comfortable. While the river was extremely high and cold and not possible to get into it provided a wonderful backdrop for our stay. We will be back!

Overlook Cabin in Strawberry

We enjoyed our week at the Overlook Cabin in mid-May. Great location, the cabin is right above the S. Fork of the Stanislaus River. River was running high and fast with record Sierra snow melt, we could see and hear it clearly as it roared by. House had everything we needed and plenty of hiking is available right outside the door or within a few miles. Will definitely be back.

Listen to the River

My husband, adult daughter and I had a wonderful 3-night stay at Overlook Cabin. The house was clean, beds were comfortable, and we had everything we needed. The absolute highlight of this cabin is its location, perched above the beautiful south fork of the Stanislaus River. We could scramble down to the river’s edge and take a lovely stroll through the forest, right from the door of the cabin. We hated to leave. Highly recommended!

Overlook is Divine

I love Strawberry and the Overlook Cabin. Beside the fact that it is really a gorgeous cabin, totally outfitted with everything you’d need with top of the line stuff, it is in a wonderful setting with the beautiful Stanislaus River flowing by. My only quibble is that Verizon coverage was very spotty and there is no internet. Once you accept that, it is heaven!
