Liked: Cleanliness, communication
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
It was a clean home with the basic needs available (except for the jet tub that needed extra cleaning by us). However we rented based on the descriptions made by the host such as a hot tub, pool, mountain views, stream view, etc. The host admitted to these things not being on the property, and fixed her listing (because VRBO insisted), however was not willing to do anything to compensate for us being mislead into renting a property under false pretenses. So, if you have any issues don't expect them to make it right for you. Here is the response we received...."After reviewing your concerns, I have updated the property listing and amenity descriptions to provide additional clarity for future guests regarding the creek access, views, and indoor jetted tub feature. I also corrected the Wi-Fi information issue you experienced."

Thank you for taking time to share your feedback. I’m sorry the property did not meet your personal expectations; however, I do feel it is important to clarify several inaccuracies in your review for future guests.
The home includes an indoor jetted bathtub, which was accurately described in the amenities. The property is located on Terrapin Creek, with creek access available by a short walk (less than 150 feet with a clear, lighted trail) from the home. Dugger Mountain is clearly visible from the creekside swing. It is not visible from the house in Summer due to the leaves on the trees. We are a certified Wildlife habitat and I am not willing to cut down trees for a view.
During your stay, I was not made aware of any concerns until the night before you left. I responded promptly to your concerns and communicated directly with VRBO customer service regarding your refund request. I was advised by customer service to not provide compensation or a refund. Out of an abundance of caution and commitment to transparency, I updated portions of the listing language afterward to provide even greater clarification for future guests.
Due to the significant amount of pet fur left throughout the property during your stay, an additional deep cleaning was required. Although pet mitigation supplies were provided—including furniture covers, lint rollers, pet wipes, and cleanup tools—you were not charged.
We are proud of providing great stays for over 7 years and wish you the best of luck.
First trip I planned and hosted, bringing my siblings and kid. This house made it well worth the drive, and the access to all the swimming holes etc around was a plus. I highly suggest getting this place and trying it out. I didn't want to leave, but definitely will be back!
Reservation and check in was a breeze. This property was perfect for our family, packed full family games and plenty of room for our dog. It was a great getaway for the weekend, I wished we could’ve stayed longer!
We had a great stay at this property, such a cute house and very clean. We enjoyed the fire pit and screened-in porch the most. As we were planning the trip, the owner was so great to communicate with us in a timely manner. We would definitely recommend staying at this location.

Thanks so much for making our home a part of your family’s history. We’d love to have you back any time.
We enjoyed having a place we could all stay when in the area for a family wedding. We even put the Christmas tree to use and celebrated our Christmas a few days early.
We stayed here to ride our SXS'd at Indian Mountain.
The property is amazing.. very nice.. neat place. The only downfall which might not be for others is the limited connectivity.
Host is very good to work with..
Would definitely stay again.
House was very clean and beds were extremely comfortable! Perfectly located near silver comet trail! Host went over the top to make sure we had what we needed! We’ll definitely be coming back!
Perfect for our family gathering. Adequately stocked with kitchen & dining necessities. Plenty of space for relaxation and conversations, inside and outside. Thank you for sharing your home!
My family of 5 used Chief of Ladiga Cottage as our home base for a week. The Host, Julie, was very communicative and gracious to provide some heart felt amenities. The Cottage is remote enough for privacy but not too far from town. We all had a great time!!!!
While we only stayed for 2 nights and were extremely busy due to a wedding we were attending, our family agrees we will be returning when we can stay for a full week and explore more. This home is beautiful and it truly does feel like a home. Communications with the owner were excellent. Cannot say enough good things about our short stay!
