About this property

Ciulla Vista in the Heart of Yale BC

Visit historic Yale, where the gold rush brought pioneers to try to make their fortunes.

As you’ll see in the pictures of this chalet, there’s plenty of space inside and out. With 8 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, this home can accommodate up to 20 guests.

Whether you're looking for a corporate retreat or family getaway, this beautiful home is a cozy and relaxing escape, just a 20 minute drive from the town of Hope.

Enjoy the 2 acres of privacy. Ciulla Vista is a safe haven for children and adults. We offer a playground, tire swing, tree house, huge covered picnic area, outdoor kitchen, and lots of lawn space for outdoor games and sports. The firepit is covered, so you can enjoy, regardless of the weather. There is a bunk house with plenty of toys for toddlers. Adults can sit and read a book on our 10 x 40 screened in deck or relax in the 15 x 40 sunroom which offers a hand built window bench and sofas and has a perfect view of the kids play area.

A very unique chalet set in a private setting. 3500 square feet over 2 floors. There’s plenty to learn and see if you're interested. Or enjoy reading beside the sound of the creek which runs behind the property.

The outdoor lawn space includes a large covered eating area, outdoor kitchen, and tons of space to relax. The chalet has an open layout kitchen with plenty of seating in a glass enclosed sunroom (15 by 40) which has sofas and tables and chairs for eating meals together. We have listened to our guests and installed ac, in all the bedrooms upstairs. One of the upper level toilet and sink bathroom is separated from the shower so guests can shower while others get ready. An additional full bathroom is also on the upper level. Three of the upper bedrooms have their own sink and vanity. One up the upper bedrooms can be used as a bedroom or a TV and games room for kids to close the door and have space away from the main floor living space. The 8th room, is on the main floor, off the laundry room, with 2 twin beds, it can be open from the master, or totally separate, dependingon your needs. The spacious 15x40 indoor sunroom is also great for kids to run around in morning while others sleep.

There is a train that runs through the town of Yale that blows its whistle at all crossings. We supply earplugs if you're sensitive to noise. Our kitchen does not have a dishwasher, like our guests to know, that prior to booking 😀

Plenty of great day trips within 20 minute drive:
Famous Othello Tunnels (a nice hike for the entire family & wheelchair accessible).
The town of Hope is the Chainsaw Carving capital of Canada (map available for a walking tour). Hope is also the location where First Blood was filmed (map available for a walking tour).
Alexandra Bridge (historic bridge now turned into a walking trail).
The town on Yale, BC was once coveted to be the capitol of British Columbia. Yale Historic Museum (where you can pan for gold if you feel lucky), is only a few minutes walk from the chalet.
Lady Franklin Rock, a comfortable walk from the chalet (slight incline, wheelchair accessible).
Beach on Fraser River is a short walking distance.
Visit Ward Tea House to be served by staff dressed in pioneer wear.
Fishing and gold panning is within walking distance too (at Fraser River).
Creek runs behind the property.
Hells Gate is also a short drive. There is a cost to ride the tram, but plenty of things to do for an enjoyable day!

Amazing location for family with kids!
We had a large group with kids ages 2-8. With a large playground, shed FULL of toys and a huge field, it was a kids paradise. We even had a mini sports day set up for the kids which was so entertaining. The chickens on the property are quaint and make you feel like you're at a farm house. There is a train that runs often near the house which was fun for the kids but can be a bother if you are sensitive to sound. The house has ear plugs which is a thoughtful addition. The indoor and outdoor kitchens are so well stocked and they even have consumables for us to use (paper towel, foil, saran wrap). We are a large group so we always bring our own but it was nice to see some provided. There is no dish washer so keep that in mind if that is important for your group. We have a cooking team and a cleaning team so it wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. The beds could be more comfortable but some bedrooms have sinks which is a surprisingly nice feature to have. Most of the bedrooms are upstairs which was good for noise control. We could barely hear people downstairs in the morning. Overall, it was a wonderful experience for our annual family vacation and we hope to be back one day!

Better than expected
The pictures does not do justice. This place is amazing. We had 10 adults & 10 kids (ages 4-17) stay here for 4 days. Lots of things to do for the kids to keep them busy. Even the adults was out exploring the creek. The host was super friendly & helpful to get us anything we needed. I would highly recommend having a family vacation here. Thank you again Kal for generosity during our stay at your lovely property.

Amazing place
We have a group of friends that have made it a tradition to do a gathering once a year to catch up and let our kids play with each other. This place has a lot of space for kids to play and plenty of bedrooms for everyone. We had 10 adults and 8 kids. Everyone had a great time. Will definitely consider coming back for our next year's trip

Fabulous family retreat
We had an amazing time staying here for a week, we had 9 adults and 5 kids under 5. The description is very accurate, if not a bit modest. This place is awesome! There was so much for the kids to do, lots of space for their scooters and outside toys. There is an entire shed full of toys and games that can be used as well as a huge yard, play set, and tree fort. We loved watching the trains come by and the noise didn’t bother any of us. The large sunroom dining table easily accommodated all of us and the oversized fridge/freezer fit all the groceries for a week. There are so many wonderful spaces for visiting, the outside screened porch was great to keep the any bugs away from the baby, but we really barely saw any bugs at all. There were couches in two spaces and lots of outdoor seating options. The outdoor kitchen and griddle was used for nearly every meal. All of the upstairs bedrooms have ceiling fans which was perfect for those of us who like to be cool when we sleep. We saw the owners come and go a few times, but they were absolutely lovely and we still felt like we had lots of privacy. I highly recommend this location for families!

Bachelor Party in the mountains
We booked this house for us to host a bachelor party for one of our good friends. There were 9 of us total, and the space was exactly what we were looking for. Everyone had their own bed, and the property is amazing - just as listed. Definitely take the time to hike along the creek on steps away. We really enjoyed bocce ball on the open lawn, and the BBQ was used every day. Thank you to our hosts for a wonderful stay!
