Check-in was easy and I received a well-timed and informative email from owners. Great cabin for a family fishing trip. Back deck was a great hangout space. Very close to a good swimming hole at Woodson Woods. We'll likely stay again in future when in the area.
We had a positive experience booking and staying at the Farmhouse. The property was extremely clean and had enough space to accommodate our stay comfortably. Great proximity to Meramac Springs as well as downtown St. James. The property was beautiful and a great place to stay for a float trip!

We really enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse! It was tucked away which was perfect for us. We made some great family memories sitting around the table, playing cards and games. And the fire pit out back was perfect for roasting marshmallows after a day of exploring the area. We will definitely be back!

Thanks so much for your positive comments. We are very glad you enjoyed your time and made some good memories.
Loved the location of this place and the large deck was great for sitting outside while in the shade. The old house has a lot of character. We had eight adults and house was plenty big. A few of the mattresses need to be replaced as you could wake yourself up when you rolled over......but we all had a great time.
Overall we had a great weekend. It is a nice little old farmhouse. The bedrooms were not exactly advertised correctly, but we made it work. There was plenty of room and nice area outside for our younger kids to enjoy. If you’re looking for an enjoyable quiet place to stay this is it, beware though if there is heavy rain in the forecast you might get flooded in for a while. The only way to the property involves a low water bridge. We learned the hard way, lol. We would definitely rent this place again.
The only complaint was there were a few loose bricks on the sidewalk, and a few loose boards on the rear deck. My 80 year old friend had to use extra caution because of that. It is an old house, but it was described accurately, it was clean, and was a beautiful location. A spotted fawn wandered through the yard one evening. It was so peaceful there.
Neat farmhouse nestled away, but close enough to everything. Bed was comfy, having a fan in the room is a nice touch. Enjoyed the deck and even the little fire pit.
Would be fun for a big family with a group of kids (to use that upstairs room full of beds). Just a few suggestions for what would have really made it great—
1- get a Keurig. The coffee maker took so long to make a pot of coffee, we had to leave for the day before it had made two cups. So no enjoying coffee on the deck.
2- some nicer furniture on the side porch to actually make it cozy and inviting to sit out there.
3- it is a farmhouse, so not expected to be spotless. However, if you’re paying a cleaning fee- there were some kind of ashes on the dresser in the bedroom. Floors felt dirty. There was a line of small ants in the kitchen (I get it, it’s Missouri in the springtime/summer). Didn’t ruin the stay but some people might really not like this.
4- have the grassy area directly around the house more mowed and kept up, maybe even some pots of flowers? Sitting outside listening to birds was awesome- I was wishing for some feeders to see them better.
Anyone not from MO might be surprised about ticks, so maybe a warning with some bug spray would help.
5- we could tell which part was the original farmhouse. Would have been nice to have some pictures or history about the place.
I think some extra touches like this would make it more worth the price.
Neat property that has more potential!
Really we really enjoyed the old farmhouse it was nice and close to Meramec Spring’s where we went fishing and sightseeing all in all we had a great time thank you
