Wonderful stay! Very clean, quiet, great location right on the river. We had difficulty with the Wi-Fi and owners responded immediately and helped fix the issue. We would definitely return!
Lovely place for our family of 3 to stay and our cousins to visit to play!
We were in town for a wedding, and this home was perfect for us, our 3-year-old, and my parents to make home for 3 days. There was also a lovely patio by the river and ample space for our son and his cousins to run around during the day. And communication couldn’t have been easier. Truly a great experience all around.
This is my family's favorite place to stay when we are visiting Dexter. The screen porch is a great place to relax, and it is an easy walk to downtown.
The house was very welcoming and perfect for gathering with our family in Michigan. Lots of little extras and things provided to make the stay more comfortable. Loved the view from the kitchen overlooking the river.
We’ve stayed at Lisa and Doug’s place many times over the last few years. Never been disappointed with our stay. Access to Ann Arbor, great B2B TraiI within walking distance and decent restaurants. I thought we walked all the local trails from the house, yet we discovered another trail near the house that rewarded us with lots of deer. Our morning walks with coffee are part of the benefits of staying here. And yes, the house is as portrayed, patio on The Huron and super nice host. What not to love!
Second time stsying at this house. Absolutely wonderful. Homey. Comfortable. Well appointed kitchen and bathroom. Also an inspiring learning experience in terms of what eco-friendly actually entails. And being right on the river in spring was glorious. Bluebirds fliting in and out of their birdhouse. Magical.
My wife and my daughters and myself all really enjoyed our stay in your beautiful home. Within 10 minutes of getting to the property I seen 3 deer in the woods across the river. Was very peaceful and serene and close to everything. Will be staying again. Thank you very much. Also loved the bottle of wine.
This was a very comfortable place to stay with my family within walking distance of downtown. We would definitely like to stay here again if it is available.
Stayed here for a wedding at Zingermans Cornman Farm and it was super convenient location. Great view of the river. Host very accommodating and quick to respond.
This is our second stay, and I'm sure not our last. So happy we discovered Dexter and this property. Owners are super easy to work with and the location can't be beat.
We love staying here!
Beautiful house on the Huron River. Hosts went above above and beyond to provide all that we needed for a relaxing stay, even a bottle of wine! The house is just down the street from the Dexter Cider Mill and a easy drive to Ann Arbor. I highly recommend staying here.
A peaceful two-day retreat to read by the river. House is very comfortable and a short walk to downtown Dexter. Communication was easy. I would definitely return for another getaway.
The place is perfect for a football weekend. Pizza place two doors down was great. Coffee shop less than half mile away. Crib was neat and tidy, attention to detail throughout. Mark me a satisfied customer!
What a fabulous location. Short easy drive to Ann Arbor. Walking distance to Dexter Downtown where there are pubs and restaurants and stores. Short drive to anything you need. The house was so charming and homey. Lisa and Doug really make you feel at home with all the little things in the house. The back yard was so nice to sit by the river and lite a fire. We will definitely come back.
This was by far the best experience we have had with VRBO. Great location, wonderful property that felt like our home away from home and an outstanding host. This property will be our only choice for future visits to Michigan. Simply superb in all respects
We found the perfect hideaway for our son’s graduation from University of Michigan.
Dexter is a lovely town, and although very convenient to Ann Arbor, is far from the madness and crowds of graduation weekend!
We especially loved relaxing on the terrace by the river after a busy day at the Big House!
The best location ever! Right on the beautiful Huron River. Great gardens and trees. Cozy back yard with fire pit! Close to up-beat small town with unique shops and good restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, and the walking trail. PLUS the house was lovely. Beds comfy. Kitchen very well appointed and stocked with essentials. Bathrooms too..We want to come back
Stayed with two of our adult children to watch the UM-MSU game. This is the second time we have rented this house in Dexter. We used to own a condo in downtown Ann Arbor, so we were initially concerned about how much different it is in Dexter and downtown Ann Arbor. But we love Dexter. We went to the coffee shop twice, the bakery, and the pub (twice as well). We obviously came back, so it was enjoyable.
I came up with two of my adult children. All three of us are UM alumni. We chose Dexter instead of local Ann Arbor hotels. We had stopped at the Dexter cider mill a year earlier before a game and really liked Dexter. Unfortunately, the cider mill was closed in late November, but we enjoyed the pub, coffee shop, and bakery. Great weekend.
I am not even sure what to write I mean... everything was absolutely perfect! From the floor that squeaks a little like grandmas house to the huge kitchen and eating area. We absolutely love staying there... they pull out all the stops and have extras in the case you forget something. I can normally find at least one thing to keep a place from being perfect but its REALLY hard to find any flaws in this place. Can't wait until next time!

Why they chose this property
We LOVE living on the river and hope you'll enjoy this property too! Lovely location, VERY near town but secluded and part of nature.
What makes this property unique
Unique eco-friendly property located right on the river, steps from parks, biking, skiing, kayaking/canoeing and water-sports. Solar panels power the home, rain barrels collect water for gardening, a rain garden collects run-off water for plants and we compost/recycle as much as we can!
