Beautiful canal view, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in dorsoduro area

The little palace where the la perla apartment is situated was built several centuries ago - as most of the Venetian buildings- and it has been difficult to restore to its original state.
Two full years of intense restoration has recovered its artistic and cultural beauty so well known all over the world.
The main structure has been kept due to strict rules of our monument conservation superintendence that forbids futuristic transformations.

LA PERLA apartment has three areas about the same size and facing the canal. We were able to obtain a large living room, a medium kitchen, three bedrooms, two large bathrooms without changing the outside fantastic look. From each room you can enjoy a unique panorama mostly on the canal and open space around.

The floors are in jroko wood cut in large boards and inserted along the wall in a wide sheet of Pietra d'Istria (recovered from the restoration) and treated with bee wax. This gives an extraordinary brightness to the room.
The bathrooms are really luxurious all in marble. The bathroom with bathtub is in pesco di Verona marble recalling the Istrian stone of the other room.
The bathroom with twin lavatories and shower is in flowery travertine marble and stone.
The original ceiling beams and the marmorino finishing of the walls, as well as all other details speak of a true Venetian house.

The furnishing is elegant. We chose good quality for the beds, the furniture and the well equipped kitchen. Avoiding any exaggeration. You have all the space to create your own atmosphere. The location of the house is rather central within walking distance you can reach the Academy area, the Frari and Saint Rocco churches. In 15 minutes you can go to Saint Mark's square and the Doge's Palace, via 22 marzo with its famous boutiques.
If you want to rest for a while you can sit in one of the small cafe in the minor squares inhabited by Venitians and not invaded by tourists. You can stroll in Saint Barnaba square or along the Zattere facing the basin. In the evening you can have a full immersion in the very lively campo Santa Margherita, general meeting point for a sprtiz, a Venetian typical aperitif.

Holiday getaway

The property was in an excellent location, walking distance to many sights but far enough away to be in a quiet picturesque neighborhood. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay here again on our next visit to Venice. In addition, our host was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Situated in a perfect spot in a quiet neighborhood close to good places to eat and relax away from the mobs of the big tourist areas. Unusual to have such amazing views of the canals from multiple directions. An ideal spot for our family.

Great location! Near transportation and restaurants

Four of us enjoyed our time in Venice staying in this cute apartment. This property is a great location for getting around - a quick walk to catch a vaporetto and a fantastic trattoria just steps away! The apartment was clean and perfect for our group. We were delayed getting in but Irene waited for us, which we appreciated.

Lovely apartment in quiet part of town away from the tourist crowds. Excellent restaurant Al Profeta a few steps away, plus Campos San Barnaba and Santa margherita also very close by. Lovely to walk along the zattere in the evening. Apartment huge, with excellent bathrooms, lovely views.

Great place!

The apartment is a jewel! The location is near everywhere you want to go and see. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, with many good restaurants nearby. ( we loved the food at the Africa experience) The apartment is spacious and clean. Plenty of room for 5 adults. The washer was a bonus and clothes dry so quickly! I would recommend this place to anyone!

The check in process was a bit too cumbersome. The A/C is only in one room so the bedrooms are stuffy on the warmer days. Other than that we liked the property and had a great time 🙂

Wonderful stay at La Perla!

What an experience to stay in a 1200 year old apartment! It was clean and completely updated and had all the amenities for our stay. It is located about a 20 minute walk to St. Mark’s Square, but away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy area. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping near the apartment and lovely cafe’s as well. There is a supermarket nearby also. Highly recommended!

Great area, host was patient and helpful, nice apartment

We stayed here as a group of four for our last few days in Italy. My brother is blind so traveling is difficult and unpredictable. Italy in general was not good for traveling with any disability, blind was especially difficult. The host helped us book a water taxi and was very patient when we could not provide exact meeting times.

Fantastic apartment in a great location

The apartment was very well situated with lots of restaurants in close proximity and an easy 20 min walk to most of the key sites in Venice. It was very clean and was exactly as pictured on the website. The host was very easy to communicate with and even arranged the water taxi for us from the airport when we didn't get any response from the online bookings for the various water taxi companies and had someone meet us at the drop off point to help us navigate the short walk from there to the apartment. The views out the windows were classic Venetian and the building was fairly quiet for downtown Venice. A great choice for a family vacation!

Beautiful rental great location!! Irene was a pleasure to deal with! Always answered my emails very quickly!! THe AC is only in the living room and although the bedrooms all had fans it was a tad warm. Irene did give us an extra fan to help circulate the air. Stunning apt in quiet neighborhood

This apt is best of both worlds: quiet and spacious, but 5 minute walk to water taxi and 10 minute walk to attractions. The only drawback for some may be 3rd floor with no elevator, but it was no problem for us. Plenty of room for family of 5 (14-70+) and greeting service was prompt. Great options for dining 5 minutes away (don't miss Pizzeria Profeta). We walked the entire city twice in 2 days and then settled in to this comfortable apt away from the crowds. Bellissimo!

Beautiful apartment in amazing location!!

A wonderful experience from the moment Julia met us at the station! She took the time to point out where we could buy groceries, recommended restaurants and pointed us in the direction of attractions. the apartment is very centrally located in a less touristy and much more charming part of Venice but still very centrally located. The apartment is beautifully furnished with Venetian Decor. The best part are the windows! They are of superb quality and everywhere. There are 3 exposures and not a bad view in the entire apartment. Venice is truly magical and so is this apartment! Cant wait to go back. Thanks Irene and Julia!!

Great experience!

Lovely experience at La Perla. We spent 3 nights here with my family, 3 adults and two children (7 and under). Everything was beautifully maintained and comfortable and there was plenty of space for all of us. The A/C and washing machine worked great. The lovely woman who met us to take us to the apartment was very informative and kind. We felt very welcome. The owner, Irene, was very responsive with her emails and helped make payment a breeze. The neighborhood is perfect. Plenty of spectacular little restaurants and cafes nearby, yet, you're far away from the crowds. It does mean you have to travel a bit to get to the main tourist sites but Venice is such an adventure we didn't mind the extra time to explore this city.

Decent Apartment. Great Location and Views.

My family enjoyed 2 nights in this apartment. It was clean and the views were awesome as they looked right out onto the canal. In terms of the location, it was off the grand canal (which was good for us) but near everything you need, including a grocery store, water taxi stop, fresh bread and a small square with restaurants and shops. The service was not so great as the woman who checked us in seemed rushed and overwhelmed by the number of properties she managed. When we called her for help with our transfer, she didn't get back to us. But if you're OK going it alone and are looking for a mid-range apartment in a great location to experience Venice, this is a good choice.
