About the host
Hosted by Lindsey Helms-Koury
We are a family born and bred in NC with a love for the Mountains and an appreciation of the great outdoors. We live in Concord, NC, and have worked every weekend for over 2 years restoring this stone house and property. We love relaxing with family and friends at the cottage and exploring new areas. Hunting is a favorite of Mickey's and Gabby has taken an interest in Hunting as well. I enjoy hiking, exploring and we all enjoy trying new restaurants especially locally owned.
Why they chose this property
This property truly was a blessing. My ( Lindsey’s) best friend has had a mountain house right across the road . For years we have said we wished we lived closer to each other. I had taken my Mother and daughter to stay at her place for my moms birthday. We had such a fun weekend! That Monday I was just looking for waterfront properties in that area and this house came up! I texted my friend and she was so excited, she said that is right across the street from me. It was just listed that day, and the journey began!
What makes this property unique
This property has a special place in our hearts! You feel such peace when you come onto the property. The land was loved and utilized in so many ways by its original owners. It truly was a homestead. With plants and trees unique to this region and abundant flowers and herbs. We have learned a lot from the son of the original owner as to how they lived. Take it all in, so much to see. All the stonework (besides the fire pit and new steps) is the work of the original owner who was a Stone Mason. We have enjoyed every drop of sweat that went into this place. And know you will enjoy this place as much as we have!
