Great location for ski enthusiasts

The location is fantastic with several ski resort options. In fact, if you want to hike up the hill, you can practically ski next door. We were disappointed that the sauna did not work, as it was a selling point. The queen bed sags, so it is not comfortable for more than one person. We arrived after the check in time to find the cleaners still there. I felt bad for them, the previous tenants left very late. It snowed, so we shoveled the walkway but there was no grit in the buckets so the walkway was slippery. We had two falls. I would say that chains or all wheel vehicles are needed or you will be stranded when it snows until the plow comes. The flashlight batteries were dead, but we didn't need flashlights since the walkway was well lit, but if we lost electricity, it would have been a problem.

OK.....but not great.

Most of the other reviews are accurate. Pros: great location close to Killington, quiet/secluded feeling, nice kitchen, place to hang your head at night. Cons: Cobwebs, saggy beds, smells of chimney smoke, quirky TV, cracks in drywall, and peeling paint around windows (water damage).......property is clearly showing its age. Jetted tub panel kept falling off...and the sauna (although advertised) did not work. Forget closet space...they were either locked or filled with bedding or cleaning/maintenance supplies. When we arrived the water was not on, neither was the water heater. It's great after a long drive to use the bathroom only for the toilets to not flush. We figured it out by going down into the basement ourselves. As listed, the fireplace is totally gone, so pics on the listing are not accurate. With some TLC, this place has the potential to be great....but I'm guessing for the owners it is a "good enough" investment property.

Smoke filled cabin

This place could be perfect. Had it not been for the bugs, cobwebs in the corners, the loud overly soft and saggy bed or the fireplace that almost smoked us out. (Yes the flue was all the way open) With just a little little more tending to, this place could be worth it.

Lovely, simple place

I had a lovely time with my two adult "kids." The house was very clean and had basic supplies on hand, which we appreciated. A very quiet place. It would be good to let folks know there's no cell signal (at least we didn't have one), but the wifi was fine.

Cabin in the deep woods needs some TLC

Without George from Vacasa we were going to leave and go to a new property. George was able to get things working and fix some things in order for us to have a pleasant stay. Also when I called Vacasa for help all the staff were very helpful. This is a beautiful place but definitely needs some TLC. It does NOT have AC and the TV can be quite a challenge. Also suggest bringing a flash light and a lighter and candles in case the power goes out. Bed needs an overhaul feels like you are sinking in but the sheets and comforter felt great. Pathway from the parking area way way down to the house is quite a challenge when carrying all your belongings for your stay. Views are breathtaking.

Meh

The house is in a beautiful part of Vermont. So close to town and the beach it’s gorgeous! Unfortunately there we some problems. The bed upstairs was broken, the ceiling leaked, and a few other cosmetic things. I will say that the company that manages the house was wonderful and refunded us.

Great spot

We loved the place, especially the state of the art kitchen. Very close to the Coolidge museum and state part. Not far from Okemo or Woodstock. We had one minor technical problem that Ryan from Vacasa fixed promptly.

Fireplace

Awesome house full of stock house hold items! One thing that we were excited to use but weren’t able to is the fire place. We tried using it and smoked the entire house up because the chimney is gummed up. I would see if the property owner could get it cleaned/have instructions hung somewhere to avoid all the smoke

Our stay

The home is overall nice, quiet, and secluded. However all of the beds were very uncomfortable. The master bed was a foot higher on the sides than in the middle, so it felt like sleeping on a hillside. The room with the twin bed and bunk beds: when lying on the bed it was not very sturdy. It felt like the bed was going to fold in half. The sauna was also broken. Otherwise the house was nice, but a comfortable place to sleep is my number one priority. After a long day of skiing, it isn’t nice to come back to an uncomfortable bed and get a terrible night sleep day after day of your ski vacation. If this place had all new beds/mattresses installed, I’d give it 5 stars, but in current condition, I’d give it 3 at best.

Incredible Home

The Sauna, kitchen and open common area layout were my favorite parts about the house. It was perfect for everyone to enjoy relaxing and having fun group dinners.. I really appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was as well. We throughly enjoyed our experience in the home and would love to do it all over again.

interesting location, but lack of cleanliness

Interesting location for alpine skiing. we had good time ... but ... several elements to improve: - Places not very clean. -Uncomfortable beds. -Kitchen well equipped, but poorly stored kitchen cabinets. -Non-functional sauna. -Fireplace makes a lot of smoke

Amazing ski house!

This house had everything we wanted for our ski weekend: fireplace, big comfy sectional couch, close to Killington. The house was clean and was everything we wanted. Thanks for a great stay!
