The perfect house for my extended family to cheer on our daughter who was competing in the Ironman Maryland in Cambridge, MD. The host was gracious and very responsive.

Thank you for the kind review. I'm sure she did well with her whole family cheering her on!
What a wonderful property for big families. We had family members from four states, ranging in age from 3-93, for Thanksgiving. The kitchen was well equipped. We had everything we needed to make four pies, a 22-pound turkey and all the fixings. Our host was pleasant and easy to work with. Very quick communications and so accommodating.I have rented many VRBO a homes, and after my experiences I come to appreciate a well-organized, professional host. We highly recommend this place.
The location and the house were ideal for our visit. Since it was overcast and somewhat chilly, we did not use the pool. The view from porch was greatThanks to the host fir making our visit memorable
Adequate space for our family vacation. Comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Kids loved the pool. Bug spray a must. Thanks for having us. Our atay was memorable.
Great family getaway with plenty of activities for the kids. We caught a ton of crabs off the dock and were able to cook them. The pool is a great size, and the view from sitting on the pool deck is amazing. Highly recommended for a family looking for a quiet place to stay that will keep kids entertained.

Thank you Brien. So glad your family enjoyed Fishing Cove!
We enjoyed our stay at Fishing Cove, everyone enjoyed the pool. The pool was well taken care of. Location was very peaceful and quiet. Bedrooms were spacious and located apart from each other. We enjoyed sitting outside on the big deck with awning to block midday sun.
Had a wonderful three days at Fishing Cove. The house was very well appointed, clean and perfect for our group of 14 high school friends celebrating our 77th birthday year. Beautiful sunrise over the water.
This was an absolutely perfect option for celebrating my mom’s birthday. She and my dad are older and have accessibility needs, so having first floor living and bedrooms, plus an elevator up to the main floor from the driveway, made this trip possible. The location is stunning, with a view of the water from most of the house, gorgeous forest providing privacy, and everything was clean and very well maintained. Our dog was incredibly happy to explore the yard and dock, and we were grateful to be able to bring her along. The host was attentive and quickly responded to any questions (we couldn’t find the elevator key when we first arrived, and she helped us within a matter of minutes!) We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this space to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with either older family members or a larger gathering (we had a smaller group but easily could have fit twice as many guests!) Thanks so much for such a wonderful experience.
this was a terrific house for our big family, plenty of room for everyone!!! loved the seclusion of it. we spent most of our time on the back deck and in the beautiful pool, caught crabs off the dock and did some kayaking, i would definitely rent it again, thanks Virginia for sharing your home!!!!

Thanks Roberta,
I'm so glad you and your family had a good time! My cleaners asked to thank you for leaving the house in such great shape.
Hope you come back!
We were a group of siblings and some children celebrating Thanksgiving together in this lovely and well kept home. The communication with Virginia was great. She was very receptive of our needs. The rooms were very spacious. The house clean and well equipped. We would love to return during warm days to be able to enjoy the pool, fishing in the backyard and more walks. We recommend this home!

Glad you enjoyed your Thanksgiving at Fishing Cove!
Our family group of age 3 to 75 had a wonderful time at the house. Everything was just as described in the listing. Everyone especially enjoyed the pool and deck area. The beds were comfortable and it was fabulous to have 6 bathrooms for our group. The only issue we had was the bugs. Be sure to bring your insect repellant!
We loved our stay in Cambridge! Such a peaceful, quiet location but also convenient to town. My kids lived in the pool, and I’d recommend little water shoes as the lining is textured and chewed up their feet a bit. The house is tidy, but lived in, which is perfect for us as we travel with 6 kids 8 and under. We started and ended each day at the dock, which is secluded from the bustle of boats and incredibly quiet and serene. Overall, it was a great week. Check in was easy, no issues with the WiFi, easy trash removal, and very simple check out instructions. It’s also worth noting (because I’m not sure it’s in the description), there are several cots tucked into a few of the bedroom closets, making sharing rooms with littles incredibly easy. On another note, the description states there is a high chair, so we didn’t pack one, and we were never able to track it down, so be sure to bring one if you have smaller kiddos!

Hi Kyle,
Thank you for your nice review!
I'm sorry you couldn't find the 'high chair'.
It is a plastic child seat that straps on to a regular chair. It was on a shelf in the closet in the bedroom closest to the kitchen, unless another guest placed it somewhere else.
Best, Ginger
Repeat customer -- Wonderul multi-generation family gathering
Exactly what we needed for our multi-generation family gathering, and had stayed there a few years prior. May stay again in the future. Great location, beautiful, remote setting with private dock, only a few minutes from open water. Comfortably accommodated great-grandparents, infants, and everyone in between. Generally well-appointed and supplied -- just bring food and a swimsuit! Had a few maintenance items, but owner/manager Ginger was extremely responsive.

Outstanding location. Peaceful, quiet lovely view House needs to be freshened up
Loved the house and location. Beautiful view and so peaceful. Enjoyed watching the birds and crabbing from the dock. Plenty of space for our family. Pool and deck were lovely. Great seating outside and loved the grill! Only complaints- house needs painting, new sofas and new mattress in the master upstairs. Fishing Cove was neat, tidy and clean. Our family agreed that we would love to return.

I am so glad you liked the house and appreciate your honest feedback so I can replace/repair the items you reported to me. The house is scheduled for painting right after Thanksgiving. Completely new kitchen cabinets, countertops and appliances will be installed in January. The new sofa and picnic tables have arrived. I had the pool light replaced. The pool service cleans the pool weekly. Dorchester County mosquito control sprays a non toxic product weekly. Thanks again for your review.

Lovely spot for a gathering of friends!
Our book group (9 women) spent a delightful two nights at Fishing Cove House. The house easily accommodated the 9 of us with its variety of sleeping options, and enough bathrooms for minimal sharing. The house is very well equipped (new kitchen and appliances) with spaces for large and small group gatherings as well as quiet corners for individual reading. The location of the house is quiet and private, with great outdoor space with ample seating and lovely water views. All in all a very comfortable place in easy access (2 hours) from Washington DC.

Thank you so much for your kind review. I'm glad you enjoyed the house. We are trying to do everything we can to make your stay pleaant. We hope you come again.
Very Happy with the week. Weather could have been cooler.
A railing to get out of pool would be nice.
Better TV's would be nice but not having TV for a week was great too.
We are thinking of doing it again next year.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the house. For the TV's, new HD DirecTV boxes are coming next week to upgrade the reception.
Our group of 15 had a great week at Fishing Cove. We were out kayaking every day - sometimes a bit of a challenge to launch depending on the water level. There wasn’t any boat traffic so even our beginners could kayak as far as they could paddle. We had a wonderful time playing in the pool and watching the birds and encountered lots of frogs and salamanders. A great time was had by all. Also - having 2 refrigerators was a real bonus!

About the host
Hosted by Virginia Townsend Rubsam
With 3 married children and five grandchildren we added a second floor to Fishing Cove to accommodate all of us as well as our friends. When our family isn't using Fishing Cove we offer it to other families so they can enjoy it as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
We bought this house because of its PERFECT location. It is only 60 miles from Annapolis so getting there is easy, going from the hustle of city life to perfect peace in an hour's drive. It started out as a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house that we enlarged and improved to fit the needs of our own large extended family. Then we decided to offer it to other large families for their vacations so they can enjoy it too!
What makes this property unique
We have a large house with lots of space for multi-generational family get-togethers. There's something to do for everyone.
