Fall Getaway

The studio was very nice and well kept, it just wasn't big enough for the 2 of us for a week. We like to spread out, and a full size refrigerator would have been nice. There was a problem with the buildings elevator, out of 3 elevators when we arrived only 2 were working. By the middle of the week there was only 1 working which made it very hard to get out on time by the end of our stay along with everyone else trying to check out. It was very nice having several pools and hot tubs indoor and out,and a indoor and outdoor lazy river that was all kept very clean. Also having a couple bars and restaurants and a ice cream shop indoors and a italian ice hut outside that had the best italian ice I ever had. All and all we had a very nice stay.

Beds are very hard. Floors were sandy, but you really can’t help that. They were when we got there and when we left. Elevators (2 that worked) went to every floor and took a very long time. Not your fault. If I could change anything about the place; it would be to suggest staggered departures since it is so big. Everyone was trying to leave by 10 and we had to wait about 30 minutes to bring our luggage down and my husband can not stand that long to wait for the 2 elevators that were working.

The furniture is run down and needs updating, especially the beds. They are worn out. One of them felt like you were rolling out of it. The bathroom light fixture flickered like a strobe light so we had to unscrew three of the four lights. Balcony is above about 10-15 air conditioners so that is what you hear. VRBO list a dishwasher and ice maker which were not in the room and property management did not show that in their listing. Received the code to the get into the room but no garage code for parking and no code to get into the building. Had to call and was told I could park on the street by the fence. That is actually a tow away zone during the night according to the signs. Finally received the codes and they worked. VRBO states the property is 5900 sq feet which I figured it was incorrect but it is really only 462 sq feet. No information provided on where to get ice, so I had to ask other residents. This property has an ocean view from the balcony for one guest at a time if you look from an angle otherwise you are looking at the building next to you. The toilet paper is like elementary school (missed my Charmin lol). Only get one set of towels per guest for a 6 night stay. Should include at least two sets. No ceiling lights so you only have two floor lamps that work. I do not recommend staying here because you can find ocean front rooms locally for less money and more room. This place is tiny and needs updating, especially considering price.

Our sights are on Europe in the coming years - with Ireland, France and Italy on top of the list. The holy grail would be Australia & New Zealand (maybe some day).

We fell in love with Myrtle Beach & dreamed about having a place there. It is a foodie paradise, a fantastic family destination, a never ending party, a shopper's dream and the beach isn't too bad either :-) We'll send you a bunch of tips about our favorite places in the area when you rent from us.
