It's the kind of place that envelops you like a huge hug from a loved one, surrounding you in an atmosphere of fun, love and laughter.
Constructed of knotty pine floor to ceiling, the spacious tri-level lodge is warm, welcoming and inviting, just ten miles from downtown Blue Ridge but worlds away from civilization. So private you can see only two neighboring homes, Bear Hug overlooks the land-protected Chattahoochee National Forest to the west, ensuring you a breathtaking sunset view every evening. You can take the kids into the backyard to play while you break out the wine glasses for a relaxing happy hour.
Bear Hug is ideal for families, with one bedroom outfitted with two custom log bunk beds and kids' amenities like a strap-on highchair seat, Pack N' Play, monitor, and a child safety lock on the basement door. The cabin is dog-friendly too, so you can bring your small dog.
There's plenty of entertainment available too, as the cabin has billiards, darts, and a 32" TV in the game room, which has a custom-built bar and wine fridge, and a 52" TV in the family room with surround sound.
Preparing meals is a pleasure in the fully stocked kitchen-with-a-view, where you'll find stainless steel appliances, electric oven and stovetop, microwave, crockpot, toaster, and drip coffeemaker, with dining space for six plus two at the breakfast bar. Or fire up the gas grill for a barbecue you can enjoy on the outside deck, where you can relax in the six-person hot tub, kick back in a rocking chair, and use the telescope to get a closer look at the star-filled sky.
On cooler nights, you can warm yourself by the fire pit or cuddle up before the fireplace in the family room's cozy sofa or chairs. Or head up to the comfy couch in the loft to read a book—that is, if the view doesn't distract you too much!
When it's time to turn in for the night, the comfortably furnished bedrooms await you, each with unique lamps and plush toy bears in keeping with the cabin's theme. You'll choose from the upstairs master bedroom, with queen bed, deck access and private bath with garden tub and walk-in shower, the main level master bedroom with queen bed, deck access and walk-in shower, and the aforementioned lower level kids' room, with adjacent shower, toilet, sink and laundry facilities. A double sleeper sofa in loft can accommodate extra family members or guests.
In the morning, you can take a drive to Morganton Point, a great place to swim, kayak, and picnic in the summer, or head to downtown Blue Ridge to visit the Arts Center, playground, restaurant, boutiques and art galleries.
The perfect blend of fun-filled activities and restful, relaxing escape, Bear Hug gives you the best of both worlds and vacation memories you'll treasure for years to come.

This was the best vacation ever!! We only left the cabin for 2 hours one day. The cabin had everything we need! The pictures do not do it justice!! The view is the best I have ever seen!! We loved everything about the cabin!!! Be prepared.. you do have one house that is very close. Not a whole lot of privacy. But we still enjoyed this cabin and will definitely be back!!!

We had a wonderful time here in the cabin!
Everything was perfect and extremely clean.
The views were amazing and we enjoyed staying in the cabin and out on the deck and playing the games provided . The jacuzzi was a hit as usual and the pool table as well!
This is the perfect cabin for relaxing with family and we definitely want to come back!

Escape to Blue Ridge
We had a good trip to this cabin. Weather was great. We did have issues with the amount of lovebugs that were in the cabin. We chose not to use the upstairs room and bathroom due to the amount of lovebugs that resided in the home. We were unaware prior to booking that this is common in the fall/winter time in this area. Other than the bugs we had a great stay and would recommend to others. The management company did offer to move to a different cabin but we chose not to due to wasted time having to move and get resituated. They were trying to accommodate which we appreciate.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Bear Hug. We sincerely apologize that your stay was affected by the seasonal ladybugs. We understand why you preferred not to relocate, and we hope you will consider visiting us again at another time of year for a more enjoyable experience.
Everything was great! The only thing was there was a lot of lady bugs around the house and appeared the cleaners forgot to clean a couple areas (windows, corners of the house, other areas). Also, the fridge down stairs didn’t work. Otherwise, the place was amazing for a little mountain getaway! Will have to do it again.

Beautiful cabin that offers anything and everything you need. The view is incredible. There were 5 of us, away for a girls long weekend. The cabin was extremely clean and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed playing pool, cards and sitting by the fire. We had every intention to try the hot tub but ran out of time. Overall, we all loved it and will definitely stay here again 😊

Thank you for staying with us at Bear Hug! We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and appreciate your kind review! We look forward to hosting you again soon!
Bear hug was a great place to stay. The view of the mountains was great from the porches. The children loved the bunk beds in the play room and loved playing pool. It was easy to drive up to and central to lots of small towns in the north Georgia mountains.
Very nice place! The view off the deck was spectacular. We loved the game room equipped with tons of board games, darts, and the pool table. There is one bathroom on each of the three floors, which was very convenient. Highly recommend this place.
