Very warm and welcoming cabin. Plenty of room for all of us. We gathered around the central fireplace regularly. There is a nice easy trail that starts from the parking area of the cabin. Short walk to pier and the Lake. Short drive to everything you need. What more could you ask for. Hope to stay here again.

Thank you, Gabriel! We love to hear your family enjoyed the home and look forward to hosting you again. Cheers!
We spent 7 days at this cabin June 2020, 6 adults and 3 teens. It fulfilled all of our requirements: west side of lake, walking distance to the water, large deck, comfortable common area for people to relax together, dining space for everyone, and close to town (Tahoe City is less than 10 minute drive). We cooked most meals at the cabin and the kitchen had everything we needed. Plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, etc. The only downside for us was that we are a family of tall people, and because the twin-sized beds upstairs are tucked up head-first against the sloping ceiling, it was difficult for tall folks to sleep there without their feet hanging off the end of the bed. It was no problem for the shorter ones. We would love to stay there again sometime.

Was accused of doing damages we didn’t do. With literally no actual proof. Have documentation stating they found the damages June 28 when we didn’t even check out until the 29th. What a joke....

Lots of Problems During Stay
While I appreciate that a staff member stopped by during our stay, I informed her the same day that the water heater was still malfunctioning after her visit. I was told that I would need to continue resetting it as needed. Unfortunately, the water heater continued to stop working at random times while guests were showering or washing dishes, causing the water to suddenly turn ice cold. Having to repeatedly reset a malfunctioning water heater and endure cold showers is extremely inconvenient and significantly impacted our stay.
Additionally, the heater in the home did not function for two nights—Thursday during the power outage and again the final night of our stay. During these times, the house became uncomfortably cold due to freezing outdoor temperatures. I attempted to contact the provided help number via text and did not receive any assistance.
While I understand that the power outage itself was outside of your control, it directly resulted in the water heater shutting off and the home's heating system not working during freezing conditions. Notably, these outages occurred on two separate occasions, further compounding the inconvenience.
During the power outages, the WiFi was also not functioning, which meant we were unable to use advertised amenities such as the television. This further limited our ability to comfortably stay in the home, particularly while dealing with cold temperatures and lack of hot water.
In addition, upon our arrival, the driveway had not been properly shoveled or cleared. Because street parking was not permitted, my family and I spent almost two hours shoveling the driveway ourselves in the middle of a snowstorm so that we could park our vehicles. This was an unexpected burden and should also be taken into consideration.
Decided to take the kids on a quick two day trip, to escape the hustle and bustle. Upon arrival, we noticed a foul smell emanating from somewhere downstairs. The smell was akin to a dead animal that had been rotting somewhere. We contacted Tahoe Rental Company, who sent out inspector #1, nice chap, identified there was a foul smell in the cabin, but couldn’t find the source of the stench. Tahoe Rental Company then send out inspector #2, same thing. Identified that there was in fact a disgusting smell in the cabin, but couldn’t locate the source. Inspector #2 left us with some air spray. That’s it, that’s all they could do for us. Leave us in the rotting animal cabin with a tiny bottle of air spray. We only had two nights there, so we had to suck it up and make the best of it. When we left I contacted Tahoe Rental Company who said they did all they could. All they could being - identify there was an awful smell in the cabin - not do anything - leave us with some air spray to mask the disgustingness of the smell of the cabin (and their service)Tahoe Rental Company told me they were not going to compensate me or my family at all, I ended up talking to a supervisor. Heather said she agreed with me that the situation was frustrating, and she herself would be very upset with the situation. Heather asked what else they could have done and I told her a nights compensation, or minimally move us to a different cabin. She said she would call me back, she never did.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay with us, especially with the odor in the cabin. We understand how frustrating it must have been for you and your family to deal with that unpleasant situation, particularly when you were hoping for a relaxing getaway.
We are grateful that you reached out to our team right away so we could attempt to resolve the issue. While our inspectors tried their best to locate the source of the smell, we acknowledge that the experience didn’t meet the high standards we strive for, and for that, we are truly sorry. The fact that we couldn’t provide a more immediate solution, such as relocating you to another cabin or offering compensation, is certainly concerning and we will be reviewing our processes to ensure we can better handle situations like this in the future.
I do want to personally apologize for the lack of follow-up from Heather as well. That is not reflective of the service we aim to provide, and I will be addressing this internally. I can understand how disappointing it must have been to feel like your concerns were not fully addressed.
We value your feedback, and it’s important for us to improve based on your experience.
Easy walk to the private dock. Trail makes for easy 2 mile walk to Sunnyside and West Shore Market. House is clean and updated, plenty of room for adults and teens. On the pricy side but we loved everything about it.
We had a wonderful stay on the West Shore in this home. Our 4 children (1 - 7 years in age) loved the upstairs bedrooms and the spiral staircase.
The fireplace was incredible. Everything was clean and the property looked even better then the pictures. The open space behind the home was great for walks and having the lake just down the street was wonderful. We'll definitely be looking to stay here again sometime in the future.

We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay! We look forward to hosting your next Lake Tahoe vacation. ~ Tahoe Rental Company
Our family enjoyed our stay, loved the proximity to walk down to the lake and use the private pier for swimming and fishing and the walking path into the woods right behind the house. Our family has been going to Meeks Bay for 40 years so we loved that it was only a 10 minute drive to get to. The A-Frame house was super cool and the interior was clean and uncluttered. We felt safe and the house stayed cool despite how warm it was outside. We will be back, thank you!

Reviewer Comments:
We had a great stay in this cabin - the location was everything. 6 adult family members and one toddler4 made this our home for a few wonderful days. Our only concern was that in 90 degree weather, the upstairs bedrooms get terribly hot, especially at night, making sleeping uncomfortable. Packing up on our last day, we discovered a fan in a lower bedroom, which would have helped a good deal upstairs. No air conditioning, and too few fans made us want to open the slinding doors, but our fear of wandering bears put an end to that.
This house was exactly as advertised. Very well equipped, especially the kitchen. Plenty of rooms and beds. Great for a large family or family reunion. The location was wonderful: close to the beach, hiking, biking, playground, and the private dock. We rented a boat for a day and pulled right up to the dock to load up the family. So convenient to grocery, dining and fun activities. We would definitely recommend this house and stay here again. The circular fireplace was a hit, even in summer. thank you for sharing this wonderful home.

The home was very close to the lake, making it easy to carry our kayaks down. It was great having a designated pier to settle down next to. The home was quite large and perfect for a family with children who are still playing with toys on the floor. Beds were comfy, the place was immaculate.
