Beautiful 4 bed villa, overlooking the surf of Apple Bay with large pool, A/C
Welcome to 21 Spyglass, our beautiful 4 bed, 3 bath villa perched on the picturesque forest hillside above and overlooking Apple Bay at the West End of Tortola. We are sure you will love this home, with its cool breezes, large pool and ample entertaining space.
The villa sleeps at least eight guests comfortably. There are two floors. Beds for six guests are in three of the bedrooms on one floor where there is a master king bedroom en suite, and two twin bedded bedrooms (2 twins in each) that share a bathroom. These rooms are on the same level as the kitchen, living, breezeway and pool. On a different level, with its own entrance, there is another king bedroom en suite with it's own patio. Each of the four bedrooms has its own dedicated air-conditioning unit. The rooms that contain the two twin beds can also be made up as kings.
21 Spyglass was lovingly restored and refurbished over a period of 6 months in 2019. It is furnished to a very high standard with a beautiful kitchen complete with stainless steel appliances and equipped to meet the needs of even the most discerning chef. The renovation placed an emphasis on upcyclng and providing income and employment for craftsmen here in BVI. As such, there has been extensive use of recycled mahogany and glass for the windows, doors and closets. The beautiful hand made pottery sconces are produced here at a small pottery in Josiahs Bay, the three stone showers were crafted by local stonemasons and the stunning kitchen was hand built right here by Caribbean artisans.
In a western location, just a few minutes’ drive to Long Bay, Smugglers Cove or any of the pristine deserted beaches on the North shore, you will enjoy a birds eye view of nearby Jost Van Dyke and a host of our outer islands. It’s just a five minute drive to the fabulous North Shore surf and a short surf or boogie board paddle will take you out on the waves.
There are many restaurants nearby with the nearest being Sebastian's, approx 5 mins slow drive. The 2 restaurants at the Sugar Mill Hotel, Da Coal Pot, Bananakeet and Tropical Fusion are about 6 minutes and several restaurants including Pussers, Omars Fusion, Omars Cafe etc are at Sopers Hole which is about 8 minutes.
If you choose to 'dine in' you can create a culinary delight in the very well equipped kitchen then dine on the large covered patio overlooking the ocean. The Weber gas grill can be used anywhere on the pool deck so the 'grill chef' can enjoy the amazing sea views whilst he/she is at work!
21 Spyglass is one of three 4-bedroom villas owned and managed by Chapman Property Group, joining Twin Oceans, it’s nearby neighbor that is just a three minute walk away and The Lighthouse, a new-build villa in Pasea Estate, Road Town (both also listed on this site).
A breath-taking 360 degree panoramic view of both the ocean and wonderful lush forest hillside vegetation surrounding the property make this villa a must stay place for those seeking peace and tranquility, which will certainly immerse you in tropical mood. A variety of tropical trees including several species of palm tree, lime, papaya etc are scattered throughout the garden along with flowers such as Hibiscus and Bougainvillea. Totally obscured from the world, your privacy is ensured as you soak up the Caribbean sun and enjoy the intimate luxuries of a villa designed to put you at peace with the world.
Views maybe enjoyed from the living room balcony, the breezeway outside the kitchen or the extensive swimming pool deck, whether you are dinning or just lounging around. If you have young children, you might be happy to know there is a gate that can be locked to prevent access to the pool area from the lanai side of the house should you choose to use it.
Within easy driving distance are the following amenities: many beaches supermarkets, restaurants, dive shops, sailing schools, charter boat companies, boutique shops, beauty spas, zip-lining and hiking.
We provide a personal service at all times both before and during your stay. We welcome your questions and can help with travel as well as things to do and places to go whilst you are in Tortola.
We recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get the most out of being on the island and Jerry’s car rental are who we recommend. They will leave the car where you arrive, ferry or airport and you can leave it at the ferry dock, airport or other location of your choice when you leave.
The villa is well equipped and has ample beach towels, cooler and ice blocks, iron and ironing board, hairdryer etc. There is DIA internet and a smart TV where you can log into Netflix etc.
Our guests choose how much interaction they want with us and we can be at the villa in 25 minutes if needed.
The Spyglass neighbourhood comprises for the most part owner-occupied bespoke and individually designed homes, each on up to one acre of land, which guarantees a secluded retreat even though you are only a five minute drive away from the beach and other amenities.

As a family, we love building, refurbishing, decorating and entertaining, filming (and even accounting) so between us all, Mark, Heather, Joe, Tom and Ben we have acquired a few properties that we have either built from scratch, such as The Lighthouse in Pasea, Road Town or rebuilt and refurbished such as 21 Spyglass and Twin Oceans. We have lived in Tortola for 30 years, love the BVI and the lifestyle it offers and really enjoy helping others to enjoy the same thing!
Why they chose this property
We have been welcoming guests at our other villas for 10 years and we take great pride in knowing everyone has had a great time with many coming back year after year. We know that for many guests, their vacation in the BVI is to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, honeymoon, retirement etc and as such, we do all we can to make their visit everything they hope it will be with memories to look back on and enjoy. We can help with vehicle rental, ferries, restaurant recommendations, things to do, places to go etc before or during your stay. We are here to help if you need us but equally, we totally respect your privacy and will only interact with you once you are here at your request.
What makes this property unique
One of the many benefits of this villa is that the pool can be locked off from one side. Another 'plus' is that one of the king rooms has it's own entrance and patio. This has proved to be a big hit with multi generational groups because grandparents can have their own space and enjoy a bit of 'peace and quiet' if they require it.
