About this property

Medieval Tower House alongside the Cathedral San Martino Bell Tower built 1204.

Rare property in a unique location, right next to the bell tower of the Cathedral in the historic center, inside the walls.
Wonderful view of the Cathedral of San Martino and of the walls from all floors.
Very bright house, in a truly medieval atmosphere, equipped with all modern comforts like fast wi-fi no limits, air conditioning, heating, safe in every bedroom, and private parking space just in front of it.
The three bedrooms are spacious and each furnished in a different way, but still medieval with antique wardrobe, safe and very comfortable bed medieval style, with new mattress.
Every bedroom has its bathroom on the floor, all in original materials and painting, but with modern accessories, like hydromassage.
Every bedroom has a large living area too, with television, armchairs, sofa and antique table just in front of the panoramic windows.
On the ground floor very large original arch access, that in medieval time gave access to the store located inside. Now the arch leads to the living and dining room and to the kitchen fully equipped.
On the wall of the stairs' landing dominates an antique wooden statue of Pope Alessandro II, already Bishop of Lucca since 1057, who allowed the construction of the Cathedral.

Why they chose this property

When I knew that this building was on sale, I immediately got in touch with the seller who was living in Rome.
He bought the house twenty years before, by the authorization of the italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, when it was owned by the Catholic Church.
I immediately fell in love with this unique house.
I started the faithful renovation, trying to incorporate modern equipment without altering the atmosphere.

What makes this property unique

It is located in the heart of Lucca center. All the materials are original.
The atmosphere is magical, staying in the house gives the impression of going back to medieval time,
The entrance to the bell tower still exists.
