About this property

The cottage is independent with its own bathroom, mini fridge, room safe, basics to make tea/coffee and a balcony with outdoor furniture and a hammock. The cottage shares a fully equipped kitchen with our second cottage but has its own basics to make tea and coffee. It has a king sized bed or two twins. You have access to our 25m lap pool and Jungle Gym for those wanting to get some exercise after a good nights sleep.

We also have a second cottage that sleeps 4 which.

Mountain hideaway with Olympic size pool

This was our second stay here. The main road from Port Antonio to the turn off is still under construction and the driveway up to the cottages is needing repair. Other than that this place is great value. Includes a well-equipped kitchen for preparing your own meals. We enjoy using the pool and the gym facility with the amazing views. And relaxing in the hammock on the porch surrounded by birds and lush greenery. Local music in the valley can be disturbing at times but not much control over that.

Mom and daughter retreat

Another great stay at Aqualife Cottages. I had been there a year ago and so enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful scenery that I brought my mom with me on this trip for a girls' retreat. Relaxing and rejuvenating.

A place of peace, calm and relaxation

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Aqualife cottages. If you are looking for a peaceful location to restore and refresh then this is an ideal spot. Also, as a single female traveller this property was safe and secure. Olga and David are great to communicate with and helped me with transportation, and have great suggestions for things to do in Portland on their website. The property staff - Hida and Teddy were very helpful, courteous and made my stay extra special. I only wish I could have stayed longer but plan to be back with a friend or two.

AquaLife = Amazing!

The most amazing views. Clean comfy private cottage with king sized bed. Great water pressure , hot water, strong Wi-Fi. Great bird watching. Hard to tear away from the deck !! Great gym great pool great shared kitchen all brand new. Olga David Ted Hiya and Shawn all took great care of us but gave us privacy. Can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Portland. Check out the AquaLife website for activities and restaurants. And find your own little places to visit too. Could go on but I’m back at work now wishing we were still at AquaLife! Go and enjoy!

We are David Lee - 5 times Freediving World record holder from Jamaica &
Olga Novokshchenova - 2 times Olympic Gold medalist in Synchronized swimming from Russia. Plus two little boys. We've meet in 2003 in the deep waters of Turkey while David was attempting his 4th world record. We moved to Jamaica in 2006 to settle and start a family. Bought our piece of the jungle in 2009. Everything on our property was built from scratch. First, the main house where we live, then garage/media production studio/office, gym, pool and now cottage, soon to be plural. Since both of us have an athletic background, we are hoping to build something where people can relax their mind and improve their overall well-being through physical fitness, proper nutrition, and meditation surrounded by fresh air and nature.

It's absolutely unique, clean, all essentials provided. Quiet and remote enough to disconnect from crowd and noises but still only 5 minutes from Frenchman's Cove Beach and 10 minutes from Port Antonio. That combined with a fantastic gym, pool, and hosts that have the local knowledge to ensure you enjoy your your stay.

Not many properties have a view of the Blue Mountain Peak, a 400ft Waterfall, and the Caribbean Sea all visible from standing in one spot. Your hosts have tons of local knowledge to help you get around and ensure you have a restful and enjoyable stay.
