Villa Carabela is a beautiful, cozy and spacious new house located in “Barrio Becerra”, a small residential development in the village of San Bartolomé Becerra in southern Antigua Guatemala, just 5 minutes by car from Hotel Soleil Antigua.
The property has an extension of 6,400 square feet (600 m2) and a construction area of 3,450 sq. feet (320 m2). The architect designed this Antigua Spanish revival style house for the enjoyment, comfort and safety of his own family, using excellent materials and finishes in all structures and spaces.
The Villa’s spacious rooms have high ceilings, lots of light and natural ventilation. It includes a very large porch that can be used as a sitting place or to entertain friends and family, overlooking the stunning views of three volcanoes; a living room with a fireplace and built-in bookshelves; a large dining room; and a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave oven, a propane gas stove, granite tops and well-designed cabinets. It also has a service area with pantry, washing and drying machines, as well as a service bathroom.
On the ground level it features a Master bedroom with a king size bed and a second bedroom with two double beds, both with their walk-in closet and bathroom. A studio-apartment on the upper level has a double bed, kitchenette, walk-in closet and bathroom. The house is fully equipped, furnished and decorated with an exquisite taste. It has 10 MB WiFi, cable TV service, two flat screen TVs, stereo and a video intercom. The whole house has fine wooden doors, quality windows, and excellent faucets.
Villa Carabela is a completely ecological house. It was built with local and sustainable materials under the CASA seal of the Guatemala Green Building Council. It has its own water well (with its own filtering system, pumps and tanks), rainwater capture for irrigation, a solar water heater and photovoltaic solar energy. All lighting is LED. It has an engine room in the basement, garden tool storage, and garbage deposit with access from the outside. Its car-port for two cars has electric gates, and the property has full perimeter enclosure.
The house layout allows to enjoy of large spaces and great views, in a safe environment and privacy. Its front yard of 2,900 sq.ft/270 m2 features a beautiful antique Spanish style fountain (búcaro) and its back yard of 320 sq.ft/ 30m2 also has a búcaro. This incredible house also offers a spectacular open balcony deck of 80 m2 on the upper floor, to enjoy the stunning views of the three volcanoes surrounding Antigua.
