Welcome to Pete's Retreat! A rustic cabin (made of cedar), with a touch of a mid-century modern vibe, that sits among the dunes and offers the best views in Surfside Beach. Inside the house, it feels like you are in a treehouse with the wall of windows that overlooks the dunes and beach. It is truly breathtaking to watch the sunrise over the water in the morning.

The master bedroom features the same gorgeous views as the living room and has one queen bed. The second bedroom is located off the dining room and has two twin beds. The loft area is over the second bedroom and has one Queen bed and two Twin beds. The one bathroom has a standup shower only, no tub.

The living room is where you will want to spend all your time soaking up the views. The dining room is right off the living room and also has a door leading out to the back deck. Just off the dining room is the quant kitchen tucked away in the corner along with the front loading washer and dryer.

When you are ready to hit the beach, just walk downstairs to the access road, and within a short walk, you will have your toes in the sand. You will love the quick and easy beach access you have at Pete's Retreat. Since you are on an access road, it is convenient to drive all your beach toys, fishing gear, coolers, beach chairs, and more, right to the sand. No long hauls on foot required.

Under the house is an outdoor shower and a lockable door to the stairwell. Some water can accumulate on under and around the home after heavy rain.

We now offer optional linen service to fit your needs and budget:

• Bring Your Own Linens (sheets, bath towels, kitchen towels) to save on costs. If you would like to bring your own linens ask us to remove the cost which is included in the cleaning fee.

Pet-Friendly Vacation Home - Your Furry Friends Are Welcome! We know that pets are part of the family, and we are happy to welcome them at this home! Guests may bring up to two pets per property with a $100 non-refundable pet fee per pet. If you have more than two pets, please reach out to us - we may be able to make an exception. For small breed pets under 10 pounds, we will do our best to accommodate your request. We ask that all pet owners be mindful of the home and community, clean up after their pets, and follow any local pet guidelines. If you have any questions or special requests, just let us know - we are happy to help!

Location and thoughtful design

This property is all about the location!! Beach front views are stunning. They provided everything including a water tank for drinking water and plenty of dishes. We will be back!

Location, location, location. This property is right on the beach with beautiful views from the deck

It had a cozy cottage feel. It is rustic, but has everything you need. The water pressure is not great nor does the water taste good, but a water cooler is in the kitchen. For the price and location I think it is pretty good value.

Nice interior, great beach access

We wanted a house right by the beach and the road so this was perfect. Can walk to the beach or easily drive if you have a lot to haul. The interior is as pictured; it's not a huge, fancy beach house but it was nice. Only real negative was that they didn't do a great job cleaning, specifically in the bathrooom. Might stay here again, depending on our needs.

Great for familiez

Great location, easy beach access. The beach is great for kids; the water is shallow so kids can go out pretty far without getting in over their heads. The deck is a great spot to drink coffee and stare at the water as the sun rises. The house has lots of games, books, and DVDs. My teenager was thrilled to have wifi sufficient for some online gaming (although not steam). As others have mentioned, the shower isn't the best, but it has a handheld shower head so you can rinse off the beach enough to go to bed. Having a washer and dryer was a huge perk for washing swimsuits and beach towels. Would rent again.

Great Location

The place has a Great location. I will probably not book again. I’m ok with old and charming/ this was a little to old. Things need to be updated. The Bathroom is one. The wall has water damage and the floors make you feel like you are going to fall through. The cleaning crew does a good job for what they have to work with. Windows needs replacing. We had a pretty bad winds come through the night before we where leaving and it whistled the whole time. It would be a great place if those things where taken care of. Like I said Great Location!

Perfect for close to the beach

This property was slightly dated but really well maintained, in good condition and cleaned well. Bathroom needed to be renovated but again, was clean. Perfect location to be on the beach with no view interference.

i think that because it is a tourist place and a house on the beach it should be remodeled!! , and outside, all the houses around it it look lot better ,water test salty..

I'm so sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We do suggest to travelers that they bring drinking water. It is just an old beach cabin. We do not represent it as any more or less than that. It is absolutely the perfect placer to hang your hat at night and enjoy time with family and friends. The view and the location absolutely can not be beat. No need to update it only to make folks pay more. Its a cute clean precious little piece of beach history. Had to leave early

We only were able to stay two nights. They closed the beach and roads because of storm Beta. I think it’s a rip-off that you have to sign papers that say no refund because of weather. If the property becomes unusable the owner should offer refunds for unused time. We paid for a week and could only use the property two days.

Great location, Some issues with check-in

We loved the location and had a great time overall with ability to quickly get down to beach and enjoyed the company of a smaller quarantine pod (two families, 3 adults, 3 kids). In checking in, we had trouble connecting to WiFi and texted the property managers at the numbers provided. We didn’t hear back from one number and the other number provided was for someone completely unconnected to the property (who obviously has been texted before because the response involved “I should really check that place out sometime”)! Property had a problem with ants all over the kitchen and rest of the house and we highly recommend bringing your own drinking water—very salty/undrinkable from the tap. Overall, we had a good weekend and enjoyed the time away, but probably wouldn’t rent this property again.

At Beach Resort Services, we are more than just a vacation rental company—we are a small, family-owned and operated business with deep roots in Surfside Beach. Our story began in 1957, when our parents stopped in Surfside to fish after their honeymoon in Galveston. What started as a weekend getaway soon became a lifelong tradition, leading to summers spent here as a family before finally making Surfside our home in 1976.

In 1992, our mother and founder, Catherine, who had been managing properties with Brannan Realty since 1976, took over as property manager for 13 homeowners in need—and that’s how Beach Resort Services was born. Since then, we have continued to grow, but we have never lost sight of what makes us special—family, tradition, and a passion for helping others create unforgettable beach memories.

Today, Beach Resort Services is run by a dedicated team of three—Denise, Drew, and Hope—who work tirelessly to provide exceptional service, trustworthy management, and a personal touch to every guest and homeowner we serve.
