Cabin was as described, very spacious and roomy and well stocked. There were lots of ladybugs in some of the rooms that needed to be cleaned up when we got there. I know that’s hard to avoid, extra brooms and a working vacuum cleaner would’ve been nice. Overall we loved the cabin.
Property is beautiful. You can get to the attractions without staying in it. Quiet and peaceful. Cabin has everything you need. A few things need attention - ice maker and dishwasher. Some deeper cleaning around the windows and nooks and crannys would be
nice. Alsowe had many very large hornets
We are friends who travel together often. Some of us had never been to the Smoky Mountains, so this was a first for most of us.
The house was wonderful! There was enough space for us to be together when we wanted and be separate when we wanted.
We used the pool table and the game room and the hot tub!
We had some spotty internet, but who cares, right! We are on vacation in the mountains!
Our group would love to go back and stay in the same house. Highly recommend the house.
The cabin is very spacious and has wonderful views but was not clean at all. There was an enormous amounts not of dust and cobwebs all over the cabinets, ceiling and furniture. There were dead insects in the window sills and around most baseboards. The light bulbs were out in most of the downstairs track lighting so it was very dark inside. The windows downstairs were incredibly dirty. I’d be happy to provide pictures.
We didn't get to explore much because of the weather. The cabin was spacious and clean. I was very disappointed, however, that they would not allow a late check out, and they forced us out by 9AM our time. They also forced us to go by the office on their timeline, twice, which is unusual for these types of rentals in my experience. They also had really stringent cleaning instructions for us (especially considering the high cleaning fee) so packing day was generally not restful and I was very tired when I got home as opposed to refreshed. I think next time I will look for a more laid back management. 3 hours plus a $300 fee and all the work we were required to do before we left should have been plenty of time and resources to clean before the next guests, without wearing us out on the last day of our trip.

We apologize for some recent confusion surrounding our check in and check out instructions.
Our customers can expect the following at check in/check out:
* We try to have our cabins ready for check in as early as 3:00pm ET.
* Our check out time is 10:00am ET, and we are happy to consider late checkouts if there is not another guest arriving the same day.
* With the exception of loading and starting the dishwasher, we don't ask our guests to do any cleaning when they leave the cabin on departure day.
* Our office is located about 5 minutes from the cabin, so we ask our guests to stop by the office on arrival day to sign our guest agreement and pick up directions from the office to the cabin (sometimes GPS doesn't work well in the mountains). At checkout we ask our guests to stop by the office and return any keys they received at check in.
We apologize for any confusion surrounding these policies.
Sincerely,
Volunteer Cabin Rentals
We had a great time but the furnishings were old and tired. The kitchen faucet was in bad working order. Routine maintenance and outside lighting need to be updated.
We had a group of 11 and we all were so impressed with the cabin. Everything was labeled, it was clean, and the views were breathtaking. Our experience was certainly aided by the cabin
Large spacious house, with tons of room, amazing open kitchen/family room. Large down stairs/game room. Tons of beds, including most are queen/king sized (important for us with 5 adult couples with additional kids). Amazing unobstructed view of the moutains. Has a hottub. Has use of a pretty cute little community pool/snack house 5 minutes away we used twice when it was 90 degrees.
Everything was perfect. The view was amazing. We have been going down to this area for 20 years and this is by far one of the best places we have stayed.
Papa Bear’s Den was great for our group of 11. Plenty of space for everyone, clean, great views, even bear sightings off the deck. We read the reviews and brought a couple things that were mentioned by previous renters. Also brought a large baking dish (there were only small/medium sizes). The only contact we had with the rental agency while there was to ask about a grill brush and one was brought over very quickly. We left a note with them when we checked out with a few items that needed attention but nothing that interfered with the enjoyment of being at this wonderful cabin. It was a perfect stay and we would definitely go back.
We had a family group of 14 people, 9 adults and 5 children. We had more than enough space. We never ran out of hot water! The kitchen was larger than the pictures portrayed which was great. There were a few things lacking, like good pot holders and measuring cups. The dishes and baking needs were good other than that. The bedrooms are spread out so that there is privacy and quietness for all. The road to the cabin was steep and winding but all our vehicles made it with no problem. One of the funniest parts was having 7 bears visit the cabin while we were there! It was truly a wonderful place to stay!
Cabin was wonderful. Plenty of room for everyone. View was spectacular. Management was quick to replace the propane gas for the grill when we ran out. We will return!
Rental was easy and the agency polite. Clean and beautiful location with plenty of spacious room for our family of 14. As big as the Cabin is, a few common missed things were noted but nothing to complain about. Made a note for the rental agency on the couple things we noticed needed attention. But again, nothing to complain about. Overall, it met our needs, and I would consider renting again.
We feel amazing in this place, the view it was great full, nice, clean.

Gorgeous cabin
Cabin was absolutely gorgeous! Plenty of room. Loves the kitchen when we all cooked. View was amazing. Thankfully there was no ice on the road to the cabin because it would have been tough driving up.
Cleaning fee was 300.00 and there was dust under chairs, dressers and other areas that hasn’t been touched in quiet some time. Found several coffee cups cabinet that dishwasher didnt t clean. Also there was a empty coke bottle on the floor in the foyer when we walked in. Not sure if cabin was cleaned very well.
