Other Things to Note:
**Technology, WiFi & Cell Service**
As of 2025, our Mt. Baker-area homes now have high-speed fiber internet, making it easier for guests to work remotely, stream favorite shows, check in with work, or stay connected while enjoying a peaceful mountain getaway.
The home includes free WiFi and a smart TV for streaming your favorite subscription channels. Please note that streaming subscriptions are not included, so guests will need to log in with their own accounts.
Cell service can still be limited in Glacier and the surrounding mountain communities depending on your carrier, though some guests find service near the Mt. Baker Ski Area.
While fiber internet has greatly improved connectivity in the area, this is still a rural mountain community where service can occasionally be impacted by storms, power outages, falling trees, weather, or regional service interruptions. These circumstances are beyond our control, and we are unable to offer refunds or discounts due to WiFi outages, speed, or service disruptions.
We recommend downloading your driving directions, check in instructions, trail maps, and any must have entertainment before arrival, just in case mountain weather or service interruptions decide to make an appearance.
**Mountain Living, Wildlife, Weather & Local Area Notes**
This home is located in a lush mountain rainforest near the base of Mt. Baker. One of the most beautiful parts of staying here is being surrounded by towering trees, fresh air, wildlife, changing weather, and nature in every direction.
Because this is a rural mountain environment, we share the area with forest critters both large and small. From ants and bats to mice, raccoons, bears, and bobcats, we do everything possible to keep nature outside where it belongs, but guests should expect that this is not a city setting. Please help us protect the home and local wildlife by keeping doors closed, storing food indoors, and never leaving food, coolers, or garbage outside. To wildlife, anything left outside can look like a free meal.
The mountains offer incredible beauty in every season, but predictable weather is not one of them. Please come prepared for changing conditions, including warm summer days, heavy rain in the spring and fall, and snow, ice, and freezing temperatures in the winter. During the winter months, we strongly recommend bringing a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle, as snow and ice can make mountain roads, neighborhood roads, and driveways challenging.
Power outages and regional service interruptions can happen from time to time due to storms, snow, wind, falling trees, or other mountain conditions. These situations are outside of our control, and we do not offer refunds or discounts for loss of power, internet, or weather related conditions.
We also recommend arriving prepared with groceries and provisions. Large grocery runs are best done in Bellingham before heading up the mountain, about 45 minutes away. There are a few small, locally owned markets and grocery stops along Mt. Baker Highway, and restaurants in the Glacier and Mt. Baker area are limited, with seasonal hours that may vary during slower times of year.
Come prepared, settle in, and enjoy the slower pace of mountain life.

Our family came here for a weekend ski vacation and really enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. We kept the fire going when we were there and that added nice warmth and ambiance.
Our group had a great stay for the weekend. The cabin was well appointed with plenty of space and an amazing hot tub and sauna. Would love to come back again soon! Thank you for having us!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the cabin. Please enjoy a 10% loyalty discount with Mt. Baker Luxury Getaways. Tera would love to make you one of her many repeat customers. Please contact them for future bookings.
This property had a great location, tons of space and room for plenty of guests. Had easy communication and check in process. Wish we could of stayed longer, we will definitely be back someday;)
The cabin was well sized and had enough kitchen amenities to cook and serve for a crowd of 10. The hot tub was large and the entry was well sized to hold all our ski gear. Lots of blankets and places to curl up with a book. The rooms were decent sized and we had enough bathrooms. Everything was very clean and comfortable.
This is an excellent location for hiking in the Mt Baker area. The house was comfortable. The bedrooms and kitchen are small but livable. The beds have simple foam matresses which weren't super comfortable, but okay. The sauna and hot tub are excellent. The house has plenty of parking, which can be important, because you are not allowed to park on the street. This house also had air conditions in the living room, which turned out to be helpful on our trip.

Perfect place for big groups
Couldn’t have picked a better place for our group of 9 friends to celebrate a birthday and ride baker. 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms is key, walking distance to chair 9, ample parking for multiple vehicles and storage for all your gear. Great kitchen and dining room for family meals. And very comfy living room for relaxing. Great responsive host too. Thanks!!

Lovely place for a large group!
We returned back to this house because we enjoyed it the first time and wasn't disappointed! It's always been well maintained and in good condition. Our family went skiing at Mt. Baker and this house is perfectly situated in Glacier. It's close to stores, restaurants, ski rentals, etc. We were able to cook breakfast and dinner, thanks to a well stocked kitchen. The sauna was perfect for sore muscles at the end of a long ski day.

Clean, beautiful and all around charming
I don't even know where to begin with this amazing place.
First off, the owner was an absolutely lovely person, and she made it very easy to check in and out.
The beautiful, very spacious, warm and inviting place made me feel right at home. It really made me dread having to leave the place. I will be a repeat customer every time I return to this area, without question.

Thank you. So glad your last minute check-in worked out. Glad you enjoyed your stay in our beautiful part of the state. Thank you for taking such good care of the cabin.
Lovely property in a very nice gated community. The hot tub and sauna were great, internet better than reported and beautifully decorated. The only thing I'd change is the kitchen: really small to cook for our group, the fridge door blocks kitchen entrance when open (some models you can switch the door to the other side, which I'd recommend) and if the dishes were kept in the cupboard opposite the dishwasher, one would have more than 6 " on one side to put them away when the dishwasher door is open. We had a great time romping the trails from Artist's Point and exploring the trail along the Nootsak River, within the community. Would definitely rent again. Thank you.

Unreasonable owner & not good for kids!
I would not recommend renting this cabin, especially to families w/ children.
There is a staircase, that leads to all but one of the bedrooms, that could be a safety issue for kids and/or elderly.
Aside from the dangerous staircase I thought the owner also had VERY unreasonable check out procedures and standards. If you do rent this house be prepared to spend the better part of your last day checking off the to-do list.

It is unfortunate that this guest did not have a good experience at my cabin. The description of my cabin clearly states that there are stair hazards and I am not advertising this cabin as kid friendly.
The to-do list is simply return items that you used to their original place, load and start the dishwasher and start a load of towels. I do not charge a cleaning fee, but if these requests are unreasonable guests are welcome to pay for cleaning.
Letting children color the table cloth with crayon and markers, embed the upholstery chairs with play dough and spill food everywhere might also be misconstrued as unreasonable by some. Not sure what this guest spent her last day doing, but it definitely was not cleaning. Looking forward to a different experience in the future and regret that this experience was so dis-satisfying for both of us.

Nice place overall
The cabin was cute and comfortable, and it was great to have a pool available. But the list of dos and don'ts seemed rather long---it was hard to keep track of all of them and make sure everyone in our group followed them. The owner had nicely allowed us to check in a couple of hours early, but unfortunately the key was not where it was supposed to be when we tried to check in, due to the owner providing the wrong instructions to the previous guest. We were able to reach her, and she tried to resolve our situation, but it was over an hour before we managed to gain access to the complex or the house, which was quite a pain with three cars of people including 4 kids in tow. We asked for some compensation for this inconvenience, and she seemed willing to accommodate us, but in the end she just offered was a discount on future bookings, which we won't be able to take advantage of as we don't live in the area. I doubt this particular situation would recur for any other guests--I'm sure she'll be sure to upload the correct copy of the instructions in the future. It was just kind of a bummer for us.

Response from VrboOwner on 31 Mar 2020
This was the first time I have ever had a guest not be able to access the cabin due to "no key in the lock box." This error occurred because instructions were not followed by the cleaning company to, "return the key to the lock box" if it is left in the cabin. My uploaded instructions on VRBO were the old instructions and yes, this has been corrected. This guest was able to get into the cabin before the 4:00 pm check-in time, so compensation for trying to check in early seemed unfair. When a guest pays through VRBO I have no way to send them compensation. If this guest had booked directly with me I would have had access to their credit card; this was not the case.
My to do list is: return things to their proper place if you have moved things, place trash and recycling in the dumpster/bins, start the dishwasher and start a load of towels.
Other "rules" are: no loud noise after 10 pm, no tail gating through the front gate and no parking in the road way. These are the community rules, not mine. Perhaps this guest is used to staying in hotels where less is required of them.
This house is fabulous, with full kitchen, comfortable beds, clean hot tub and sauna. Close to Chair 9 and Mt.Baker ski area. I would recommend this place and would come back.

Location was great for hiking and coastal visits. Quiet neighborhood with plenty of activities nearby. I would give this property a 4.5 rating due to hair left in shower and bathroom floors when we arrived. Kitchen was well equipped, plenty of towels and all necessary items.
