Updated ground floor, ocean view condo sleeps 6 comfortably. You enter on the first floor and won't need to worry about climbing stairs. This makes your stay more convenient without the need to carry beach equipment up and down stairs. Master bedroom suite with king size bed, TV and private bath. Second bedroom with two twin beds and adjacent bath. Living room has ample seating including a sleeper sofa and has a TV and DVD player. Fully stocked kitchen with a breakfast bar. Dining room provides seating for 6. Unit has a washer/dryer, and internet access. At Summerhouse we have 4 temperature regulated pools to choose from on property making it comfortable to swim all year round! There are also four tennis courts, two racquetball courts and one pickleball court. We have two grilling areas and two playgrounds for the kids conveniently located at either end of the property. Our common area around the pools are covered with luscious well-maintained grass with a short walk to the beach. Our rental unit has a friendly front office staff and maintenance on site to help resolve any problem quickly if they should arise. We have a small library and a gym available during normal business hours for your convenience.

The new parking rules are absurd for guests with threats of towing or a $25 fee. And the strict rules of not even being able to have bottled water next to you while poolside is ridiculous.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the second year that we have stayed in unit 119. The unit is lovely. Housekeeping services aren’t what they used to be. The shower floor was scummy, the linens didn’t even feel or smell like they had been washed, there was no extra towels or bedding in the closet. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. However, the rules and regulations are so strict now, and it makes it not quite as enjoyable as the past 31 years that we have been coming to Summer House. Not being able to sit on the edge of the pool with an ice cold drink or a bottle of cold water for a child seems ridiculous. We have always enjoyed sitting outside in the evening, but the bugs are almost unbearable. Not being able to have a citronella candle to ward away the bugs seems very unreasonable.

Enjoyable Family Vacation Destination but needs improving

However, the kitchen garbage had not been taken out from the previous guests and when we moved the dresser in the spare bedroom to make room for a pack-n-play we found a sandwich bag full of pills. It could have been a big problem if one of the little ones had found it. Need to pay more attention to the cleaning of the condos - we paid a sizeable cleaning fee and expected better. This is our 32nd year staying there and this was the first time we've run into these problems (had an issue with another of the condos we had rented with pills being found)!

Love summerhouse but prefer other rooms

I think the room would be great but we stayed in it about 3 weeks after the last guest. The room had a very stagnate smell when we first arrived and the water had a VERY strong sulfur smell. We ended up mopping the floor because of how filthy it was and we sprayed a bottle of febreeze throughout the condo. I’ll say the smell seemed unbearable at first but after some stirring around, it wasn’t so bad. We also cleaned the countertops. I believe it would be much better during peak times because of the room constantly being occupied. Other than that, two burners on the stove completely did not work. It’s the older style raised burners so the ones that did work cooked food unevenly. The dryer button is also broken so who knows when the load of laundry will actually be done. We also had a house guest in the form or a roach inside said dryer. The dryer also sounds a buzzer every so often saying it’s complete but it’s not. The buzzer was quite alarming when we were not prepared with our infant sleeping in the living area. That seemed to wake him up no matter where he was asleep. I suggest doing laundry at another time besides night or nap time. The master bathroom shower also needs some attention. The metal drain piece is completely unattached so moving around in the shower can cause a toe or two to slip into the actual drain itself. Lastly, I would suggest bringing your own pillows. Even after taking the guest bedroom pillows to add to the master, we still slept flat. I know this seems like a fair amount of complaints but my family has come to these condos for the past 32 years. We’ve never stayed in this particular room but I do believe this one could use some improving compared to others that we stay in. Overall, we LOVE summerhouse. The beach is literally right at your room no matter where you stay and it’s a great place to enjoy family time.
