Amazing place. Loved everything about the property. Owners were great to work with. Hope to return many times in the future. I wish they would make the main access road one way. We were always hopeful that we wouldn’t encounter another vehicle coming or going. Great place.
This property was perfect for what we wanted. There is not much to do around Preston, Idaho. But we wanted to visit with my siblings as a family reunion.
Great cabin for family getaway. The Wi-Fi didn’t worked but that’s expected up in the woods. The owner was attentive and checked on the property while we where there. The cabin is close to recreational activities and the grocery store is just down the canyon.

Thank you Chrissy! We are so glad you had a great time. We are so sorry about the Wi-Fi. That is the first time in several years that it’s gone down. Apparently the Starlink dish failed and we ended up having to replace it. The new equipment is installed and up and running so the problem has been resolved for the next guests. We deeply regret the timing and that it impacted your stay.
Was a really nice house and fun backyard. Only inconvenience is the road to get there and the parking. One lane so it's difficult if another car is coming. Can fit 4-5 cars max if backed in and squished. Hard to have many visit. Beautiful house though and the owners were great. Incredibly easy process to check in and check out. Overall was a great place to stay, just be aware of the road and parking limitations beforehand.
We had a young women group attend for a few nights and it was amazing. Tim and Brandie were prompt with questions and gave all the information we needed up front and clearly. The photos and description were exactly what we arrived to and were so happy with our stay!
We stayed at the Cub River Hideout as guests for a wedding at a nearby lodge. The house is beautiful and very well maintained. The master may have had the most comfortable bed I've ever had at a vacation venue! Fair warning...they are not kidding when they say you have to be comfortable with mountain roads. It is in a very peaceful setting at the treetops so you feel like you're in a quiet retreat even though it is pretty convenient to the nearby Red Cub Lodge. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, this will definitely fill the bill! The only drawback...just one shower, so that makes getting ready with a bunch of people a little challenging. Beautiful, comfortable, and surprisingly modern amenities for a "hideout." Would definitely recommend the Cub River Hideout for anyone looking for a private and quiet place to relax!

Thank you so much for the review! We're glad you mentioned the lack of a second shower and wanted to let you (and anyone that reads the review) know that we are planning a complete remodel of the upstairs bathroom in winter 2021. So in the future we will have two showers. Thanks again. We hope to see you back.

If you have questions, you won't have to deal with a big, slow property management corporation. The Cub River Hideout is owned and managed by a single-property host couple. My wife and I live 30 minutes from the cabin. With rare exceptions, we should be available to answer any questions or overcome issues very promptly. You can contact us via the Vrbo app, text message, or phone call.
