About this property

Taos Chalet: Native Art, Expert Design, Hot Tub

This home will bring you in touch with the real Taos experience, nestled between Taos and Taos Ski Valley with views of the Sangre De Cristos Mountains. Soak in the hot tub and take in the beautiful details of traditional adobe craftsmanship. Surrounded by a rich depth of authentic local decor, historical books and native blankets, you will love the mix of traditional southwest with modern amenities.

Every inch of this home has been designed with care, intention, and impeccable style. Expect to spend some time slowly meandering through every room, peering closely at the art and gently rubbing your hands along the mica-flecked adobe walls. Curl up in one of the many cozy chairs with a good book and a glass of wine or Aztec sipping chocolate from town, and feel your stress melt away. Be sure to wake up early enough to watch the sunrise through the windows! This vacation rental is not just a home but an experience we know will keep you coming back for more.

*Please note: This is not the most kid-friendly property. There is an 18" drop from stone onto stone in the living room.

*LATE FALL-EARLY SPRING RESERVATIONS: 4WD/AWD vehicles are strongly recommended to reach this property during snowfall seasons. The roads and driveway are maintained but access has proven difficult to some 2WD vehicles.

Superb property
We so enjoyed our stay at this property. The location allowed us to easily access Taos as well as Taos Ski Valley. The views from the home were wonderful, even from the jacuzzi after a full day of skiing. We prepared some meals and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cooking vessels. The owner has decorated with truly interesting local art. We definitely recommend this home.

Southwestern Adobe with a great view
The house was well maintained with wonderfully eclectic decor. It has a beautiful view of the mountains. We missed that it did not have AC (not directly noted in the listing) which wasn’t terrible but it does get warm 79/80 in the house during the day. Luckily we had full days out of the house. We were able to cool the house off once the sun started setting by opening windows. It was a perfect size for our family of four and stargazing in the hot tub a was nice too.

Post Christmas stay
We really enjoyed the four nights we stayed at the house. It’s so unique with the decor. Loved soaking in the hot tub at night looking at the stars. Close to Taos ski valley and town.

Stayed in a landscape painting!
This property could not possibly have a better location. Its beautiful. 5 of us stayed. My husband, my son, 2 granddaughters and myself stayed here. The house had everything we needed to make homemade meals, yet many restaurants were 15 minutes away. The beds were cozy and warm with great linens. The hot tub was a great luxury, extra special on a snowy evening along with the kiva fireplace in the gathering room. Just two cons. The house is presented as an accommodation for six people. Not enough washcloths or big towels for the hot tub. The other big issue for us was the gathering room seating. It is the place where most likely the most time will be spent as a group. There was only enough seating for 5. The sectional while very cool looking has sections that are not attached so when we sat on them for movie watching etc., they would slide apart and inevitably, someone would land on the floor. A beautiful space just not a very comfortable one. That said, we would probably stay again. It is a homey feast for the eyes!
